Not really a sensible comparison though as Zmarzlik only had an assessed average, whereas Woryna has an established one. Its entirely correct to reassess a rider who hasnt got an established average, for example Piotr Pawlicki when he went to Wolves. Don't the (last years) rules only allow a reassessment if a rider is out injured for a year, or missing from Britain for three years?

Kurtz was signed as a third heat leader though and, despite spending the majority of the season riding at number one, still managed to increase his average. I'd say he was a spectacular success, let down largely by Kasprzak's lack of effort.
  4. Good grief, how often do you need this explaining

You've claimed this a few times Sidney, but it's just not true. Holder had some horrible blips away from home last year, hence why: Kasprzak 2016 away average -7.71 Holder 2016 away average -7.54 Still, a great signing for KL and a very decent side. Excluding the play offs at Monmore, Holder was outstanding for the last few months of the season.

Which of course has no impact at all on Kurtz, as he holds a dual nationality passport and so doesn't need a visa. Just because Swindon stuffed up, doesn't mean anyone else has.

It's always been a seven, as we are working with last year's Premier League averages. He has a Danish average of below six from last year so, according to the rules, is a category 2 rider, and therefore 7. It's 18.6.1/2 of last year's rulebook.

Bjerre should be around nine, King I think will be a point lower. It's difficult to assess without seeing all the line ups, but Coventry look a middle of the road team, with a chance of fourth place. Bates starting at reserve is a big plus, as he's far better than his five point average, however that only offsets having Garrity on such a high average. I'd have replaced Kerr and Sarjeant with a two pointer and a stronger rider like Kylmakorpi, but it's probably more financially prudent this way and it's good to see a club retaining a young, British core.

I would think it's an educated guess. Holder wants to ride here, he's running out of teams who could accommodate him, and MF seems to suggest there's no NKI (maybe there's a reason he knows, relating to the aforementioned rider filling the number one sized hole at Kings Lynn).

Crikey, that's almost as bad as being sent to Coventry.:-)ETA the wink, I forgot the wink.

What makes you think that? He was quite a bit worse than Sargeant and Rose in the PL last year, and on a par with Branford and Clegg, but they all have far more experience on the EL tracks.

    Wolves 2017

Kilndt on a five point average is no risk at all. Look at the comparable riders; Bager, Jacobs, Stefan Nielsen etc. He averaged over five as a heat leader last year in the EL. Yes, he's a bit of a gater, but I'd expect him to be somewhere between second string and third heat leader, depending on what his home track is.

And again, when it started so well! The cynic in me would suggest that in view of the current worries, today was a good time to bury the release of the rest of the team, but I'm sure that wasn't the case here, just unfortunate timing... Fingers crossed everything turns out well for Coventry.

Coventry are looking quite promising. You really would have to drop a bollock with the remaining riders, to not be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

    Chris Holder

Leaves 3.90 for two reserves so won't work, nevermind Jacobs being at reserve. If BV get Holder it would be at the expense Worrall,Cook or Fricke. Doesn't sound likely, unless Fricke goes to Coventry.

Twenty meetings count for the rolling average; Andersen was a heatleader for all bar one of them. Harris rode as a HL all season, but Kennett (4/20 at HL) and Nicholls (8/20 at HL) both spent longer at second string. The statistics are easy to find on the speedway-stats website, cheers SCB. I think Hans is on a more more achievable average than Kennett and Nicholls, but possibly not Harris. I've got a feeling Andersen isn't going to be number one, but I also think it might not be KK.

Why would Hampel be allowed to come back on anything under his 12+ point converted average? Why should Drabik be on anything lower than 9?

Any chance you could stop trolling, Gavan? I've explained to you several times already, Howarth went as part of a double change in May, when Ward was badly injured. They were replaced by THJ and Pawlicki. Dyer replaced Stachyra much later on in the season. Also, worth pointing out that Ellis hasn't been sacked, he just hasn't yet been offered a contract. The makeup of most speedway teams change year on year, it's the way it's been for years, and will continue to be while there's a points limit.
