  1. BIRMINGHAM host Leicester in a ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Midlands derby at Perry Barr on Monday (April 15, 7.30 pm). The Curtis Sport Brummies are still searching for their first win since returning to the top-flight and are looking to respond to their home defeat to Oxford last time out. Polish star Piotr Pawlicki will finally make his debut for the club whilst Scott Nicholls is back in Birmingham colours as a guest for Wiktor Lampart who is ruled out with a knee injury. They face a Leicester side who have lost their last three fixtures in all competitions, but the Lions boast a solid looking side including former Australian national champions Max Fricke and Sam Masters. Assistant team manager Chris Adams worked with a number of the visitors at Wolverhampton last season and knows the quality the opposition possess. But with the Brummies sat on just one league point, he feels this is already a key clash for the Second City side. “Every meeting is important, especially at home,” Adams said. “But after a draw and losing last time against Oxford, I think we could definitely do with a win on Monday. “We’ve been on the back foot a little bit without having Piotr, but having him in the side now can only be beneficial for us. “It’s a shame Wiktor has got injured, it means we still haven’t got our full team together, but we’ve all seen what Scotty can do at Perry Barr and all the riders are desperate to get that first win. “Leicester’s not going to be easy that’s for sure and they’re going to have a bee in their bonnet after another home loss on Thursday. “So they’ll be coming just as keen for the win and it’s up to us to step up to the plate and produce the goods.” Whilst tickets will be available on the gate, they are also available online for £23 adults, £20 concessions (with proof) and £10 students (with proof) - children under 16 are admitted free of charge! Brand new racenight ‘VIP Gold Tickets’ are also available for £39 - this includes a raceday programme, a pre-meeting pits visit, a centre green experience as well as use of the executive boxes upstairs in the main grandstand. All tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/58448? This fixture will also be streamed via BrummiesTV. You can register now and buy your meeting pass for £12.99 at: https://www.brummies.tv For any supporters travelling from Wolverhampton, there will also be coaches available. More info at: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/58507 BIRMINGHAM: Vaclav Milik, Tom Brennan, Steve Worrall, Scott Nicholls, Piotr Pawlicki, Zach Cook, Leon Flint. Birmingham v Leicester 15th April 2024

Douglas, Masters and Lawson are all usually excellent around Perry Barr so the Brummies will have their hands full tonight i think.
  3. Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere (lapsed GP fan) Can you still watch the Grand Prix Rounds on Eurosport via a Sky Box anymore ? The Eurosport website is no help and filed with the usual barrage of ads about streaming and apps which I have no interest in. Thanks

Lindgren already turned us down, so can't see it happening This was already a bargain basement team, so just likely means bigger hammerings for us

    Birmingham v Glasgow 12/07/23

From the club website :- BIRMINGHAM return to Perry Barr on Wednesday (July 12, 7.30) - and they’re looking to make it back-to-back home wins when they take on Glasgow. The Curtis Sport Brummies beat Berwick last time out in the second city as they triumphed in front of their home supporters for the first time this year. It was a huge result which saw them leapfrog from the bottom of the table up into the play-off places on a much-needed morale boosting night for all involved. Team Manager Stewart Dickson has made two further changes to his side since that result though. Stefan Nielsen returns to the side following a period on the sidelines with a broken bone in his foot while 2014 team member Paul Starke returns to the Club for a second stint. Those changes also allow the in-form Alfie Bowtell to drop to reserve and Dickson reckons that, along with a good turnout from the Brummies’ faithful, could play a big part in the outcome against the Scottish Tigers. “Alfie has been riding really well and to have the option of using him up to seven times, should I need to, is a big bonus for sure,” Dickson said. “That was an added plus that came from the changes we decided to make and I think it gives the team a real balance throughout now also. “I’ve read comments about how some people have been staying away from Perry Barr because of how understrength they felt the team was - well let me put it like this, I expect to see those people back in the stadium on Wednesday supporting Birmingham Speedway. “Fair play to Nigel (Tolley - CEO) because he’s put his money where his mouth is, he’s allowed me to make the changes I felt would make us a much more competitive team and with the way the two teams are lining up, I think we’re in for a cracker against Glasgow. “Again, I’m under no illusions of how tough this will be because for me, they’re one of the top teams in the Championship - they haven’t lost a league fixture yet so that tells you plenty. “But we’ve strengthened up even more since that home win over Berwick and I want the Birmingham riders to go out there and meet the challenge head on.” The visitors include former Brummies Chris Harris and Claus Vissing while Great Britain’s Speedway of Nations Gold medalist Tom Brennan is their club captain. It’s FREE admission for all children aged 11 and under at Perry Barr in 2023 while Juniors aged 12-16 will be admitted for just £3. Season Tickets are valid for the fixture as are Advanced Five tickets. Tickets can be pre-booked in advance via: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/43598?eid=43598& Supporters unable to attend can also stream the fixture via ‘Brummies TV’. It costs £11.99 per meeting and supporters can register now via: https://www.brummies.tv CURTIS SPORT BIRMINGHAM BRUMMIES: Nick Morris, Stefan Nielsen, Troy Batchelor, Paul Starke, Justin Sedgmen, Sam Hagon, Alfie Bowtell. GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Marcin Nowak, Tom Brennan, Claus Vissing, Benjamin Basso, Lee Complin, Ace Pijper.

Given Jack's form I think that would be a big backwards step

Not on this season's form.... Sedgie has been desperately poor around Perry Barr so far this year

You really should post this in the Brummies 2023 thread instead of starting another one.
  22. StephenMiller

    Birmingham v Oxford

Can't see anything but another heavy defeat here unfortunately... Masters, Nicholls and Kerr are all usually excellent around Perry Barr and on our current form we'll struggle to take points off any of those three
  23. StephenMiller

    Fastest Gater?

Hans Nielsen surely must be up there with the best in the 80's / 90's ? He was usually so sharp away from the gate

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Starke usually rides Perry Barr very well, so probably would be if his average fitted ?
