you dont like a joke much do you btw well done on the completely wrong use of the phrase which inexplicably appears in brackets

    Brexit

i firmly beleive they are being held back and i do hope if Brexit happens (which i dont beleive it will) GB riders will benefit

    Brexit

i was thinking more about how it might affect speedway - i think your general assertions are prob fairly accurate as blocktread says - lots of work permits needed and i suspect they will be much harder to obtain in future

Team Gb = Is It Time ?

re Tai: at international level there is absolutely no evidence for this ridiculous statement I'd be more annoyed that Nicholls has say back and watched us struggle but i do think youngsters is a good shout

Team Gb = Is It Time ?

Team GB - for christ sakes its Great Britain - lets drop this crappy fixation on trying to seem trendy, its embarrassing

to be fair at least he'll be an asset and the team can be changed early in the season and will need to be

    have you been away TWK?

    Averages

yes it does because its confusing and yet another barrier to a newcomer's understanding of the sport a race average is much better as is the grouping of riders A to D to make teams as they do in other, more succesful, leagues
  10. probably read it in the Star!! I remember Simmo saying something like he'd just been playing at it til Ivan helped him perhaps it was just a chat rather than a formal arrangement
  11. the thing is that riders are largely indiviuals like tennis players and would need 1 to 1like them i bleive in the past senior riders have helped - i believe Ivan took Malcolm Simmons under his wing for a while and improved his professionalism at least there may be other examples

given that this really is the only option it is likely this is how he will go. It is not usual for him to give us constant updates so i wouldn't necessarily take silence as proof of inaction

    Bring Back Castrol R

i'm opening myself up to ridicule by saying this but its true -all the things i loved about a night at the speedway are just about gone:deep tracks, wide bars, gleaming bikes with proper mudguards, noise, black leathers, hardly any guests, local riders. I'm sorry - criticise me all you want but thats how i feel. Its likely that several thousand absentees feel the same

    Redcar 2016

a bit drastic i know but we dont HAVE to race Thursdays - theres no reason why a well chosen alternative raceday wouldnt be succesful if it means a wider choice of riders

i think what this sponsorship package does show is that it is possible to get financial support with some work. Lets face it if you can get money in a depressed area like Teesside you can get it anywhere. Well done Ian Drinkell who is responsible for securing this support.

i would agree, however Kus is apparently bessies with one of the new sponsors so maybe he can be persuaded to stay, not that all Bears fans actually want that!
  17. i argued a couple of years ago on quite a long thread that it was a ten quid sport - based on what else you could do for a tenner - cinema etc unfortunately it is too radical for the sports administrators to achieve - you would have to find a budget bike, persuade all but the elite that its not a full time job, etc i got dogs abuse on here but facts are facts - the only way to get a good level of punters back is to charge a realistic figure the elite league attracts crowds on a par with footballs conference north or south or even lower and they dont fly footballers in from all over europe - hardly any at that level are pros - usually semi pros
  18. it could be argued that the PL is actually a little too strong; there is a much greater gap between NL and PL than between PL and EL and that has stifled the progress of many riders in my opinion. There are far too many riders in the PL who should be in the EL but i understand the arguments as to why they are there (earnings, etc).
  19. this strikes me as one of those threads which, if i were an admin, i would lock - its going nowhere but abuseville prats, dickheads, knobs - happy holidays to all

    Newcastle 2016

as a smoggy the things ive always disliked are what seem like the low viewing points and to get higher at the back of the stand you feel miles away! It was probably the same at CP but it felt higher that and the regular tonkings we used to get and before anyone says it yes we were high on the smog

    Parry's International Coaches

    what an unpleasant post
  22. in all honesty i doubt there's any more to say - Alan F has it in a nutshell unfortunately more will be said
  23. no thats not it - i just got sucked in and i dont know why cos i really dont care. I'm not name calling - the average modern consumer is an idiot. There is no argument to be had they're here to stay. Sorry to bother you.
  24. actually i dont know why i responded to this - i couldnt give a fck whether there are play offs or not i suppose gimmicks are needed to grab the attention of the modern idiot anyway they aren't going anywhere so this discussion is moot
