I feel the best solution for Mildenhall would be to build a BRAND NEW track close by the existing facilities. Therefore able to use the existing carpark etc. but have a track for speedway only. Most of the problems Mildenhall have had in recent years are because of the direct & indirect use & preparation of the track for stockcars & bangers!

That will works brilliant in theory but in practice a "local sponsor" will pay the difference demanded!
-
It's primarily a motorcycle Auto Jumbo so by gaining early admission you get first dibs on what being offered. You may see a few people with Speedway or Grasstrack connections Max Richards & Julian Wigg are regulars.

Can we have a few Gladiator names please Mark & Gazza! With one less team in the league it "should" make team building a little easier for 2023. I'm extremely disappointed the BSPL ditched their 2 home 2 away premier league for 2023, something I think they will regret.

What I've seen of Killeen he has that something special that only a few have, Joe Screen, Dan Bewley, Tia Woffenden being others. With the right team/people around him he can go a long way in this sport.

Apparently P.C. is guest of honor @ this Saturdays Kempton Park Auto Jumbo (03/12/22) can anybody confirm this & will his book be available?
-
Biggest mistake by the promoters overturning the 2 home 2 away LEAGUE meetings for 2023. They should have asked the fans what they think!
-
That would be a brilliant team, can't see it happening though unfortunately.

I'm sure Rob Grant lost a load of dosh in his attempt running Newcastle but he did step forward & give it a go, so you must give him some credit. Was he up to the job? probably not, did he get much or any help from the BSPL probably not. Should he have been given permission to run Newcastle speedway by the BSPL? Overall I think Rob Grant is the biggest loser in all this & it's now time to move on.

This could include a couple of riders the "Pirates" may like in their line-up!
-
I'm extremely disappointed that the Championship have done a U-turn with the 2 home 2 away league fixtures. This was going to give @ least 16 meaningful home meetings throughout the leagues 9 teams. The top of the league could (& should) be declared league champions! Any other fixtures, Micky Mouse or purposeful could be run @ the end of the season.

One of Han's best meetings was the seasons final match v Glasgow, it looked like Hans was @ a job interview for a 2023 team place BUT where Plymouth or Glasgow?

Should the OAP discount be scrapped?
Ghosty replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I do know as a fact Somerset lost a few regulars the year they stopped concessions for OAPs. Maybe a decent discount on season tickets for OAPs may be an option? -
Agree 100% Ben is not ready for the 2023 Championship. He's a fine prospect & has great backing from his family & sponsors.
-
Apparently, Chris Harris will be making a guest appearance for 2 of the promoters that can't make the rearranged fixture!
-
I think Glasgow without Cook would be a good move for both. If Sam Hagon is keen to try his hand in the Championship I would expect somewhere nearer home to be the choice for Sam & his "team".
-
MPT probably has an attractive average - due in part to a disappointing & injury ravaged 2022 season. For 2023 the Gladiators will be looking for riders with a good history for lasting the season. With any reasonable team to start the season the Glads will do well with the advantage of their unique home track.
-
I think it would be fare to say the only bit of good luck Mark Phillips has had in 2022 was selling Henry Atkins to Oxford!
-
Myself & others were looking forward to seeing Craig Cook, his none appearance must warrant some sort of punishment, a ban or a fine surely?

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
Ghosty replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Where will the 7 riders come from for Leicester 2023 premier team, there are not enough quality riders U.K. based, any rider tempted from Poland will equal big bucks in signing on fees, travel & points money. Is U.K. speedway run by sound business people or Dreamers? -
PLYMOUTH 'Centurions' vs ARMADALE 'Devils' | National League | 04/10/2022
Ghosty replied to SpeedwayPortal's topic in National League Speedway
Does anyone know what portion of the £11.99 would go to the promotion? -
I agree with what you are saying, until you know how many teams your league have you cannot set a points limit! Promoters think reducing the limit reduces cost, can you work that one out. I will say this for the umpteenth time the U.K. has an extreme rider shortage & the Promoters just ignore the problem. If 3 of the current double-up riders were to retire this winter that will be an additional 6 team places to fill.

Glasgow v Poole/Plymouth Sunday 25 September 2022 - Semi-final Championship Play offs
Ghosty replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
What have the "rain offs" @ 1.Newcastle v Glasgow, 2.Plymouth v Glasgow & now 3.Glasgow v Poole have in common? -
Edinburgh - new home required….

Are there no pro Speedway Freemason's? -
Agree the facts of this case need to be known by other riders to avoid a similar situation arising. Also why has this taken so long to sort out?
