Premier League 4's

If the past is anything to go on it promises to be monumentally boring!! -
As I recall the promoters rebelled when Speedway was run by the old SCB, as it was run impartially but the decisions did not suit the promoters. Now we just have an unholy mess run by a bunch who run the sport packed with petty squabbles and self interest.

The only pensioners who are any way well off are those who inherited property from their parents( if it was not used for care etc), Apart of course from those born with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouths.
-
Well I now know from this erudite and well informed post that Pensioners live in a land of milk and honey having bountiful and undeserved gifts showered on them on them by this benevolent government. Interest rates when todays pensioners bought their houses if indeed they did buy were 12% or even 14% not the rock bottom rates they are now. Due to these low interest rates pensioners get sod all interest on their savings if indeed they have any.
-
Quite right!!! They have buttered their bread and now they must lie in it.
-
Following the assertions from Coventry bosses that pensioners are rolling in money and thus withdrawing the traditional concession prices, there there is a report today that many pensioners are living in poverty.

David Hemsley Has Resigned As Promoter Of Leicester Speedway

Those in charge at Coventry don't exactly have a great history in saving clubs. -
Peterborough Panthers 2016

As my mother ( GRHS) would have said a "right ruddy hames" . As so often in Speedway six of one and half a dozen of the other. A Rule which allows the BSPA to do whatever they want whenever they want, and a promoter who carries on regardless despite having been given due warning of what would happen. They are like a load of kids squabbling in the playground. How it can be expected that with the standard of person in charge this sport can ever be taken seriously is quite beyond me. I genuinely fear that within the next few years Speedway in this country will not exist. -

As I understand it this decision was made under the catch all rule"not in the interests of British Speedway" which give BSPA Carte Blanche to do anything they like. It could also be argued that the interests of British Speedway or not being served if Ged Rathbone and Panthers pull out as has been suggested. -

You do get some idiots in this world what is surprising that BSPA seem to have more than their fair share. -
Must say I was thinking along these lines. It has just taken longer than expected.

One of the things that annoy me are the endless delays between races and particularly between heat 14 and 15. Some I agree are justified and inevitable but the feeling I get is that they show little or no regard for the fans that are left twiddling their thumbs during these breaks often in brass monkey conditions.

If he was involved in Speedway he may be a contender
-
My memory of earlier days was as many have said that the first out of the gate usually won. However there was then a level playing field and of course the presentation was much better. Very close but not who I was thinking of.
-
As I posted earlier who do you think ask again, what do you think.
-
I respect your opinion and many would agree.I couldn't possibly comment!!!!
-
Who do you think?

Speedway in this country is in its death throws IMO. Many reasons but IMO one person most culpable

Peterborough V Sheffield Plc Friday 8th April

Seems a pointless exercise taking out frustrations on staff who do not have the authority to alter things even if they wanted to. -

I agree in this case rules is rules and there is no mileage in resisting. Some rules are seemingly daft but there you are. I was once required to carry out a "crowd accumulation" survey for Public Liability insurance for a team that played in the local park, and had few if any spectators. -

As far as I am aware the health and safety issues emanate from the Showground not the Speedway Promotion( perhaps we could be enlightened) Annoying as some of these rules and regulations can be it is a symptom of our times when people sue at the drop of a hat and Gladstone Brookes are setting up sub offices on every street corner. It may be that they are sharing the supporters club hut to process compensation claims as the happen. -

Outclassed from start to finish!! A dismal performance but all credit to Sheffield. -
Nobody has said anything that would indicate that it is ok to defraud Coventry Speedway
