The idea that a new track “won’t be needed” is somewhat odd considering the current state of the sport in this country.

I would assume they will appeal and submit a revised application using a different entrance? Unsure of the details why this wasn’t done in the first instance. Interesting that Butterfield mentioned a number of events they are planning to hold at the showground. Unfortunate that he couldn’t name one of those though…. credit again to Julie Stephenson (and the local MP) for shoehorning the speedway into the meeting even though not relevant to this application. Keeps the pressure and awareness up.

We’ve had it from the horses mouth on here that they would have continued if the sale didn’t go through.

Because they wanted to sell the club. They’re perfectly entitled to sell it even if it’s profitable….sure they had their own personal reasons for not wanting to continue at the time.

I’m no lover of buster and frustrated that this couldn’t have happened a while ago to give more time to try and reach a solution for next year, but I struggle to believe he actively wants the club to close.

You’d be buying any equipment owned by “Peterborough speedway ltd” (lights, air fence, tractors? Etc) and the licence. Would a licence be the same value for any club regardless of circumstances?

Cllr Julie Stevenson is worth a follow on Twitter. She’s shining a light on this whole issue on a regular basis and certainly making her feelings known about the panthers plight.

Buster said he was waiting to see if Lambert was available before finalising the fixture date. BSPA forced his hand but he said Lambert was available anyway. Laguta on the other hand……
