    A Great Weekend

Fuming after reading this. I have mailed the paper telling them what I think of this sad git Tucker. I suggest we all let the rag know how we feel about this crap .

    Money for Speed

I have the WALL OF DEATH film on video. The star rider is Maxwell Reed and Harry Fowler is also one of the riders. There is some good wall of death footage and not a lot of Speedway which is mostly at the end of the film. I often have a look at it as there is some good shots of my era the 50s which was filmed at Walthamstow. Great just to see those old JAPs again and those massive London track crowds. Also quite a good storyline. Happy days.

    Vic Duggan.

Just browsing through some of my old speedway items when i first went to speedway and saw my idol the great Vic Duggan. Noticed that in 1947 Vic had 96 races and finished, IST 85 TIMES. 2ND 9 TIMES. 3RD 2 TIMES 4TH 0 TIMES. Just wondered if this was ever bettered. He got me hooked on speedway and has been a great part of my life.

    SKYSPORTS.

Just received a reply email from SKYSPORTS thanking me for my comments. Nice to know someone takes the trouble to respond.
  6. What about a pat on the back for sky sports. I think we all take them for granted .In my opinion i think the coverage of the WTC was superb . So much so i even sent them a thank you. Well worth the subscription fee. They have down to a fine art.

    Waterden Road Stadium Demolished.

Cant believe they demolished it after all that cash spent to rebuild it. Feeling really upset another bit of my past gone. Used to go there every friday with the family then ride the next day Sat at Colin and Lens training school. What a super track to ride with its banking on the bends. If only i could turn back the clock to those wonderful days.Anyway i still have Bangers old steele shoe he gave me to use.

    Steel Plates

Mention of starting sufaces reminded me of way back in the 50s i used to take my old speedway JAP to the Harringay car park and spend the day sliding on the cinders, One weekend when i arrived i noticed a new section of concrete had been layed the size of a starting area. I was later told it had been put down during the week for testing. But i do not recall them ever using one.
