It's easy to come out and take the plaudits when you've won but you earn your coin commenting on losses. No quotes from him on the website either. Is there any other sport where team managers get an easier ride?

And, what exactly do you want him to say. We were robbed, I think the wind was blowing in the wrong direction ? Grow Up.

  3. A day to go and nothing at all about the Leicester stream. How to get it, how much to get it, if you do get it ,is it in that new fangled  colour . In fact not a thing. Still why am I suprised.  It is speedway after all.

I think you need to look at the demographic of the city and look at the growth of places such as Tamworth and Lichfield to understand why the club struggles to get decent crowds.

Then add on the fact that very few people actually like the sport anymore, which is probably the main issue.

It's a fair point. Look how many teams there used to be in London.

I think generally speaking the interest the sport, once had, is no longer there I'm afraid.

I'm only a 45 minute drive away from Perry bar. What puts me off going is the fact I have to fight through traffic everytime. If I get there early I can't park it at the stadium either. Once I'm in there the viewing is fairly poor and I feel a mile away from the track. I must say the indoor facilities are pretty good though compared to some. I went twice last year and will I go back in 2024? Probably not worth the hassle for me.

Yea. It can put people off.  After a long day at work ........... a lot of people are probably up to their hassle limit. Perhaps a lot feel it's not worth the extra effort.

The latest estimate of Birmingham’s population is the 2021 population census estimate. There are 1,144,900 people living in Birmingham according to the census.

  6. I think I'm correct in saying that Birmingham have had several different homes over the years. When you consider that Birmingham has a massive catchment area, you would think that gates of 1,500 is possible.  Does the location of the stadium have anything to do with it, is it especially difficult to get to, is the traffic at that time of evening a nightmare ?

According to the SGB website, Dickson will team manage at both Leicester and Berwick next year, which would suggest the clubs will be in the Premiership and Championship respectively. Stewart took a lot of stick for the Lions falling off a cliff this season, but I still believe he is the right man for the club and obviously has the backing of the new owner/s (whoever that is).

That, also, might suggest that Birmingham are moving into the premier.

  8. On Tuesday 5th September 2023 at Plymouth Speedway in their fixture versus Berwick, four riders were randomly selected for an Alcohol and Drug Testing.

Plymouth Rider Richie Worrall and Berwick Rider Steve Boxall were two of the four riders who were randomly selected.

Both Mr Worrall and Mr Boxall produced samples however with one prohibited substance the result provided a non - negative result, therefore excluding them from the event.

These samples have now been sent off to the Laboratory for further analysis.

Both Mr Worrall and Mr Boxall SCB Registrations have currently been suspended pending the results from the Laboratory.

Two other riders who were tested were confirmed negative on all their results.

The clubs of Mr Worrall (Leicester Premiership and Plymouth Championship) and Mr Boxall (Berwick Championship and Berwick NDL) will be entitled to a facility during the rider's suspension period under SCB Regulation 010.5 i).

What did the manager have to say about the tonking we took at Belle Vue yesterday morning... can't find any quotes on the website

I don't really understand what you want him to say. "We were rubbish", "If only we had another heat leader"," At least it didn't rain" .???

It's done now. Was never going to win at Bell Vue, not in a million years. Get some perspective. And, if we manage to squeak into the play-offs, which is unlikely, the semi-finals will be our last meetings of the season.

  10. Stewart Dickson juggling his riding order, including a new opening combination of captain Max Fricke and Richie Worrall.

Dickson said: “I’ve been looking to get a better balance in the team, and we weren’t fully aware of Craig’s fitness when the line-up was declared, but that’s what we’re trying to do.

“I want to look to hurt Ipswich in certain areas, but I know it’s going to be really tough to win down there.
