  1. We’ve had big names in the past didn’t really pull in fantastic crowds remember Robert Lambert and Steve Worrall in the same team??? Also having a big number 1 doesn’t guarantee squat
  2. Team is definitely stronger than last years team. Then again your a Poole fan and Poole fans are always right.
  3. All Anti-Vaxxers are ignorant idiots
  4. You might think it’s a woeful 1-7 and everyone is entitled to their opinion even ignorant Anti-Vaxcers like yourself but at least we have a team to support when for a long time it looked like we wouldn’t. Just ask any supporters from any of the teams that no longer run I’m sure they’d appreciate any team to shout for.
  5. He’s not everyone’s cup of Tea but once you get to know the man he’s ok. He’s also very knowledgeable about most of what he posts and is usually quite correct. If he doesn’t attend Brough I think it would be a shame and he’ll be a miss.
  6. Who says he had his arm twisted?
  7. The same can be said for Blakelaw,Benwell,Fawdon,Kenton etc. To single out one area seems a little unfair.
  8. If it was a straight choice of Lindgren or Aarnio it’s Lindgren every time for me. Always rode Brough Park well and as that’s where the vast majority of supporters see any team(at home) that’s the matches you need to be winning.
  9. The way the rumours are going about Richie agreeing to join this team then changing his mind I’m glad we didn’t.
  10. The team is what it is. There seems to be a lot of negativity already which in my opinion is astonishing considering what nearly happened. Signing riders at Newcastle has never been easy with us being a Sunday track. However add Brexit into the mix along with Poland dictating things and I presume it got a whole lot harder. Maybe the Worralls,Howarths etc we’re approached and either turned us down or politely told us they were going elsewhere. Maybe Some of them told us they’d ride for us but can’t as hoping to race in Poland. Nobody knows apart from the Promotion. At the end of the day nobody gave Peterborough a hope in hell last year and looked what happened.
  11. I’m happy just to have a team to be honest
  12. Again that’s your opinion but I’m happy enough with the team so far
  13. Sorry thought you were a Newcastle supporter but I realise your Berwick. Your entitled to your opinion of course. Good signing’s for your team by the way.
  14. Ok I stand corrected but still not a bad signing. Not sure they’ll give George just a month but then again just my opinion. What people really need to remember is that because of Brexit and Poland there is no longer an abundance of riders available. Add to that Newcastle race Sundays the pot dwindles again. I believe we have around 5.5/6 points remaining so look forward to seeing who the remaining rider will be.
  15. Welcome BWD and George. Lot of negativity regarding BWD but people have to remember he achieved the average he’s got in a stronger league pre Covid. Let’s get behind them and remember not too many weeks ago we were faced with the prospect of no speedway. Looking forward to hearing the last piece of the jigsaw.
  16. Just pleased to be able to look forward to watching Speedway at Brough in 2022. For a while it didn’t look good.
  17. My mate’s Sisters Brother-in-Law has been told off someone who bought a Chronicle from someone selling them in the city centre that her uncle’s cousin reckons we’re in Talks with Laguta who they reckon comes in on a 3 point average because he once watched Neighbours and has a Kylie poster on his wall. Keep it to yourself
  18. No He doesn’t tell me anything but I’ve heard from another source that there’s definitely 3 more coming in
  19. Absolutely not just because we’re friends doesn’t mean he’s going to tell me anything. We were friends long before he became a promoter and hopefully will be for a long time yet.Furthermore I wouldn’t expect him to tell me anything and if he did I certainly wouldn’t come on a public forum to tell everyone. They call me Jim not Mala
  20. I very much doubt it will be two rising stars. Which depending on who else signs could mean James Wright starting at reserve. Could possibly have 14/15 points remaining plus the rising star.

It hasn’t been mentioned whether they’re going to implement 2 rising stars or not for 2022. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was only 1 again.

    Newcastle Diamonds 2021

Known Adam a long time and was very disappointed to hear him consider himself “ A full time Mechanic to Danny King and a part time speedway rider”. Newcastle has never been a favourite track of his but he had some decent meetings. If it is Plymouth good luck to him.

Newcastle Speedway reveal new co-promoter: Long-time Diamonds' sponsor, Dave Tinning. Photos: Steve Brock Photography Everyone who has visited Brough Park for speedway action since 1997, will have undoubtedly heard announcer, Barry Wallace, say every week; "This heat sponsored by Dave Tinning, painter and decorator," well now the local craftsman has whipped out his rollers and emulsion to help renovate Newcastle Speedway behind the scenes along with Newcastle Speedway's owner, and co-promoter, Rob Grant to help promote the club he has supported through thick and thin. Grant was keen to bring new blood having worked out a survival package and plan which has kept the historic club rolling into its 93rd year next season, and indeed beyond, saying: "Dave has been around speedway at Brough Park for many, many years and has supported this club as a very valuable financial sponsor for around 25 of those years, and once we got talking, it soon became apparent that bringing Dave onto our promoting team, he being steeped in Newcastle Speedway, could only benefit this club of ours massively, not just for 2022, but for many years to come. He knows this club well and I can't wait to get started working with him and planning for the future of Newcastle Speedway." When asked about his appointment Tinning said: "I've been working closely with Rob and helping throughout what has been a very difficult season, and I've seen how much work it takes to run a meeting each Sunday. The opportunity then arose to help out Rob with the day-to-day running of Newcastle Speedway, and as such Rob and I both decided that I should apply to be a promoter with the BSPLtd so I can help out even further. "I've run my own business as a painter and decorator for over 30 years, and from this I can bring the experience of running a business into my new role as a co-promoter. I'll be continuing in the roles I have undertaken for the past few years , such as looking after the entrance gates, and I will start to help out in the office. I will, as the name of the position suggests, be helping with the vitally important job of promoting the Newcastle Diamonds to other businesses in the area. "I won't be afraid to get my hands dirty either, as I will help out on the track as well as the pits where necessary. I hope to attend as many away meetings as possible to represent the promotion of Newcastle Speedway, and again assist wherever I can."
