I’m glad my monicker has evoked such fond memories. As a child of the fifties I only remember the latter days of the Rangers and the odd lower league meets thereafter. Being from the area I have fond memories of those latter days at ‘The Frying Pan’ cheering on Ron Johnson, Reg Luckhurst and ‘Split’ Waterman. A good friend who has a few years on me used to clean Ron Johnson’s bike. Great days!

First time I’ve been to Central Park for a couple of seasons. Great crowd and very impressed by the tenacity of the young team. Great to see the future of the Kings is in such good hands. Well done to all concerned. If

Invicta Pairs At Central Park Mon 13/4

Not too much competitive speedway at Sittingbourne tonight. Ben was a class above and too good for this field by quite a margin. James Shanes rode well as did Aaron, and Danno put on decent show but apart from the occasional bit of aggression from Brendon Johnson there wasn't much 'fight' on show.

Wish I was there for this one but I'm in Greece so will be wishing the boys well from afar and checking updates throughout the evening. Looks a tough one but I think we'll do it but whether we'll do it by enough we'll only have to wait & see. Good luck Kings!

Gutted I couldn't make this one, having watched Armstrong a couple of weeks back in the Laurels i didn't think we had a prayer without SL but I'm well pleased for Benji about time he had a change of fortune. Well done boys!

Having driven all the way to Central Park on a couple of occasions only to see cars pulling out of the car park as I'm pulling in due to a cancelled meet I now check the weather at about 4o/c and if rain looks more likely than not I don't bother setting out.

    Kent Laurels 21st July 2014

I thought it was a very enjoyable meet last night and in qualifying it was hard to pick a winner from Boxall, Lambert and super fast gater Jon Armstrong. Thought they were all certainties for the final which only goes to prove there are no certainties in speedway which is probably one of the reasons we keep going back. Was really impressed with Jack Kingston as well who has improved five fold on last seasons showing. And also good to see a very decent crowd inside Central Park as well on what was a perfect night for speedway. Congratulations to Simon on retaining the trophy.

    Kent V Devon - 19/05

Worrall & Greeenwood were superb tonight guesting for the Kings although apart from Cockle and the overworked James Shanes, Devon never looked like closing the 13 point advantage the Kings held from the first leg all those weeks ago. Again I thought the track rode well after all the criticisms it received after the last Bank Holiday meet. I liked the way 'Magic' Mason rode in heats 9 & 12 guiding Luke Chessell & Danny Ayres around the track for two 5-1's with Chessell & Ayres picking up 3 & 2 points in the respective heats. Although Devon were a couple of riders down they reminded me a little of the Kings early last season when the depth of the side looked a little threadbare, hopefully as the season progresses they'll make a few adjustments and progress as we did. greenwood was superb tonight

    Kent V Stoke 12/5

After the reports I read about last weeks meet I was surprised to see only one rider come off and he remounted immediately to finish the heat, on what looked a slick but smooth surface. I know we were two riders down but on that display we may struggle until Benji and Brandon return to race fitness.

I would expect Mason may well be nailed on to captain the side. What a difference 12 months can make

I see we've acquired the I.O.W. team manager, another positive move hopefully.

Peterborough Feb 2nd Winter Cracker OFF. Hardly surprising but at least it's been called off nice and early.
