I didn't enjoy this meeting but I think you were exagerating about the sun break. Yes we had a 15 minute break but the sun was still dazzling us near the 2nd bend when Magnus and his counterpart went out to check the light. Also Sergeant was passed by Aspergren and then he repassed him and was then repassed by Aspergren. This was the best race of the night. The only other "genuine" pass that I recall was by Bjerre in heat 6.

Robert must be having a holiday as he has not been on much recently. Perhaps its because the racing has been better recently (except for The Pride of the Midlands)

So what is the full line up for Saturday?

Auty was definitely announced as being second but you are probably right about why the placings were as such.

Why was Auty awarded 2nd place in heat 11 when his team mate went over the line before him - not that it would have made any difference to the final score.

The flat track meeting was an FIM meeting and therefore could not be moved!!

Surely you would not deny the man a bit of possible glory.

I was not in the country for this one and therefore I cannot comment on the crowd. The meeting, I believe, was listed in the fixtures several weeks ago.

I went to the Flat track meeting which I enjoyed except for the obligatory track grade after each two races. During one of these breaks I did a rough count. There were only a few people in the stands and the other parts of the stadium seemed very sparsely populated but I counted between 220 and 250 people. Someone said, I think, there was only about 500 for the Somerset match and the stadium was quite well populated with the stands almost full. Numbers can be deceiving in this or any other stadium. Incidently, There was more passing in the Flat track meeting than we have seen in the speedway all season.

Weren't the back protectors introduced around that time?

We need one solid reserve in case we get a situation like last night at Workington where Alex had to have seven rides with the problem that Magnus had.

I agree with your assumptions. With Kauko and Kevin struggling, I would have given Ellis the fourth R/R ride and perhaps took a gamble with him in Ht 15. We had nothing to lose

Thanks for that Dakota couldnt replace Magnus because Dakotas average is too high and that is why we are using R/R for Magnus. It would have been difficult to find a decent replacement for Magnus due to all the other matches on tonight.

Always the negative one aren't you! He has said publicly that he is looking for grants to assist with the funding for the improvements to the stadium. The new stand, as and when completed will bring in extra income as the clubroom can be hired out for educational, leisure and social events.
