  1. 12 minutes ago, wealdstone said:

I imagine what most want to know is what are the plans for the showground by the new owners and how will it impact  on Panthers.

Exactly this, it cannot be good news that the Agricultural society have sold out,

this is a quote from an earlier press release.

ason Lunn, EEAEC venue director, explained that the plans to redevelop the showground would move forward without immediate impact on current or future events at the venue, saying, “The Arena and it’s connecting halls, all the buildings and the entire outdoor complex will remain unchanged and fully operational until 2023, at which point it is likely that gradual, phased withdrawal of facilities will begin at the showground boundary.”

If this is still the plan who knows.

  2. I think it would be interesting to know how many  “personnel” GB had with them at the SON finals, as I can’t see any benefit apart from maybe a physio, any of the nutritionists, fitness coaches, agony aunts, sleep coaches etc being there, by the time the meeting comes round what can they do? It’s been documented in the past of complaints from other teams about the amount of extra personnel GB had in the pits. It was said on the TV coverage that Dave Rowe was assisting Rossiter in the pits, was he there just for this? or in some journalistic capacity?

Now my point about this, it was said Bewley had a visa in place, if so save a seat on the plane for the boy instead of any of the above, let him take a set of his preferred handlebars and seat ( as cook did for the GP challenge there, he didn’t take bikes ) if freight costs were an issue, then if he was required, fit these to a fellow team members bike, not ideal but good enough to feel comfortable. If he wasnt required to ride just let him soak in the occasion, observe and take in how the nations at the sharp end go about things.

  3. Hi,

I'm looking to sell my collection of Sunderland Speedway programmes and two Sunderland badges.

    They consist of 1964 x 8   1971 x 5  1972 x18  1973 x 10 and 1974 x 11

Honestly don't know the price of this collection so please PM me with offers if interested or if you need any more information, I'm only looking to sell as a whole and not individual matches against particular teams. Many Thanks

  5. Quite possibly the case, I haven't been to the showground yet this year but just read your post about trenches and bits marked for digging all over the site which would, I assume include the cattle sheds and Arena Centre area. Health and Safety is the reason given on the press realise and many more people attend these fayres than the average crowd even for a local derby, shame for the promotion and no doubt out of their hands as Bank Holiday fixtures usually generate a nice income for the club.

  6. This East of England Showground Contractors nothing to do with The Club. Expect they need to get the work completed asap due to their own busy schedule due at this time of year. Noticed at Ulrich's meeting there were trenches and bits marked for digging up all over the site which is huge for anyone who has not been. Lost count of how many portable generators I saw throughout the Showground as I walked from the car park to the grandstand so not surprised by this at all.

But the huge 2 day Antiques Fayre goes ahead as planned on Friday and Saturday.

  7. Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere on another thread, during the very early planning of the new stadium at Belle Vue supporters where asked if they would like to donate I think £50 for a named brick to be placed on a wall at the stadium. 2 people in know did this in memory of sadly passed supporters, paid, recieved an initial receipt but have since heard nothing. One of them asked me at the weekend about it but I have no idea, I don't know if many where ever sold so it just died a death but I said I would ask the question in case anybody knows if they have incorporated such a wall.

  8. Did anyone else notice how many times Doyle was out on the track supporting his team mates, when Lambert needed fuel, when Masters fell etc.

I don't think I saw Bachelor once out on track helping out other Swindon riders.

Doyle seems to have matured into a world class rider and a genuine leader. We should do whatever is necessary to get him back at Swindon next season.

Doyley has always been this way inclined, even when questing.

  9. King actually used the engine Lambert rode in Vojens if the rumours are true. Either way, he doesn't give a toss about Panthers, so we need to get used to him missing meetings. Shame, because he is a cracking rider to watch.

This is correct Danny did use the GTR engine used by Lambert in Vojens, he switched back to his GM for heat 15.

The van and bikes were back in time to go to the workshop and prepared properly for last night not just a dash straight to the track.

Mr Rathbones comment about the Ipswich pair having better resources to enable them to ride last night are a little wide of the mark.

  10. NIGEL Pearson, along with two Sky cameras, is at Wimborne Road reporter for Sky Sports News. If it goes ahead, first leg of final will be at Coventry tomorrow, second leg at Poole on Monday.

Sky are also on standy for Monday and Wednesday next week.

Do we take this to be that a decision has already been made as to who the second set of finalists will be IF tonight is called off?
