    Oxford v Ipswich

I reckon Doyley would have had Bomber eventually in heat 13 if Emil didn't block his run on the 4th bend. He was very quick last night.

    Oxford v Ipswich

That was a top night. Big crowd and a great meeting. Passing in most races. You can see why Woffy praised the track, smooth as you like. Made me feel even more gutted about the demise of my own team but its good to see Oxford doing so well. If only we had top league local derbies to look forward to. Nice to see a Swindon number 1 wrap the points up against Oxford though!!!

First trip of 2024 from Swindon . A fair few ex-Robins in action. Come on Ipswich!!

    Swindon Stadium

Him and that tool Cllr Adams are acting like none of this is down to them!! Completely deluded.

    Swindon Stadium

I don't think there is a chance in hell that Taylor Wimpy have built houses on a site that they shouldn't have yet. They must develop 100's of these sites a year. I suspect the BS is coming from Tomlinson and his cronies who knew all along that the planning permission wasn't reliant on a fully completed stadium despite what they said from day dot. They are now being challenged on it and are blaming others. Let's hope the rat is voted out this year.

    Torquay United Football Club.

They will end up with a brand new facility no further than a 45 minute drive from Torquay!

    Swindon Stadium

It's madness that people still believe it!!! I know of a couple of people who think its going to happen now. I would love to know what has happened in the past 10 years that makes them believe anything CO and TR say!!

    Oxford Cheetahs 2024

Me and my mates are some of those who have travelled up from Swindon a few times. We are glad Oxford are back. But we always want the oppo to win! Unless its Poole and then its a tough call for us due to the rivalry in the top league we had for the last 10 years or so! A Swindon team at Oxford would never work. You wouldn't get enough travelling support from Swindon or enough Oxford fans attending the Swindon matches to make it viable.
  9. Or if the 1st leg is a big win to Glasgow then he could be off to Rome before the 2nd leg happens.

    Brandon Update

I haven't been following this in depth but of course I wish Coventry all the best. Used to love my visits there to watch the Robins! I hear that Clarke Osborne's name has come up during the meeting and he's said that houses should be built as speedway is a dying sport or something along those lines. What a joke of a comment from a man who has formed Swindon Motor Sports to build a new all purpose stadium for the Robins to ride at!!!!! It's almost like he doesn't actually intend to do this!! This guy clearly gets a kick out of killing speedway clubs. Makes me want to see Coventry back on track more than ever now!!
  11. Haha yes please!! But it will never happen whilst Gaming and Russell are involved. Over 1,000 Swindon fans at Oxford in April shows you that the appetite for speedway in Swindon is still there and I would love nothing more than to have the Oxford and Poole rivalries back. I'm only winding up the Poole fans anyway, I've missed that. To see any club getting big crowds in 2023 is good so fair play to them. What has happened at Oxford is amazing and have been there a few times since you reopened and I'm jealous every time. A Poole Oxford final this year would be one to watch although as a Swindon fan its impossible to know who you want to win!!! Hate both!!
  12. I would guess Oxford get bigger crowds than Poole. And they are a bigger club.
  13. I've barely followed speedway since Swindon closed down. But going back a few years, I seem to remember that the Poole track was excellent every week according to the Poole fans but when the TV camera's were in town and everyone could watch it then it would be shocking. This was apparently always be a one off (at least until they were next on TV!)
  14. Made the trip up from Swindon for the battle of the speedway scum bags (only a joke!) The racing was much better than the Robins friendly earlier in the season. Nicholls in heat 4 was absolute class and heat 14 proved you don't have to have a pass for it to be a good race. The team riding by Cook and Newman against a flying Jenkins was very good. Very impressed with the Cook boys. Always a bit jealous when I go to Oxford because of the state of my team but nice to see the good crowds still holding. A rare success story in British Speedway!
  15. I'm going to ask the question because if its true then it will make me think twice about going to Poole. I wouldn't knowingly give another penny if it goes into the current owners pockets.
  16. Unfortunately no matter what happens, it will only end in them making a load of cash from extra houses or a stadium sale to someone else once the original houses are sorted. The fact that no one was given the chance to come in and say they will have a go at running speedway and making it viable says what we all know. The sham of Swindon Motorsports just confirmed they are all in it together which most sensible people realised a fair few years ago.
  17. I just can't see it. If they were on for a nice little earner from it then it would be all over the website and club socials. No mention of it anywhere. But who knows in Speedway. The fans have been shafted by TR and GI so totally understandable people ask questions like that.
  18. Don't see how TR will make any cash. Oxford will pay the riders surely. Zero mention of it on the Swindon website. Don't think its got anything at all to do with the club.
  19. He was hated at Swindon!!! We had them in the cup one year and he was an absolute arse in the 1st leg away at Eastbourne. The 2nd leg went down to a last heat decider and his bike went bang on the start line to put us through. Karma is a bitch mate!
  20. I remember one at your place where someone got onto the track and Dugard rode through the tapes when he was excluded! I was only about 7 or 8 and thought it was amazing!!
  21. Yeah shame we only have 3 former Robins but we won't get many chances to see any sort of Robins team in action so I'm looking forward to it. Always remember some very spicy local derbies at Oxford when I was a kid!
  22. Massive thanks to the Poole management. Get to watch the mighty Robins twice in a few weeks now.
  23. Buzzing for this but the weather is going to beat us I think. Rain offs are one thing I haven't missed in my 3 and a half years away!

    Swindon Robins 2020

I can't see TR being involved in it now. The stand and the sound barrier will get built and then the houses will be done and everyone will earn a few bob and hopefully disappear into the sunset. If Gaming continue to own the stadium land then I'm sure it will be left to go to ruin before another planning form goes in for it to be torn down for more housing. At least if someone else buys it and keeps it going as a sports stadium then we have some hope.

    Swindon Robins 2020

There is a fella who was involved in the greyhounds at Swindon who has tweeted some drone pictures of the progress of the acoustic barrier and stand. He also said in one of the comments that there were rumours of a bookmaker buying the stadium once its complete. I assume this would be good news for us as they would want the rental income that speedway would bring in.
