This is definitely a banana skin for us
Magic is class
Wright goes well at Ipswich
Tungate Harris Nicholls and Riss all know Ipswich well
For me much hinges on Jenkins getting 4 or 5 and King and Ellis scoring about 13 or 14 between them

Not at all the first line of my post was that I thought we would win by more
We had Emil getting 4 and crashing whilst in scoring positions and missing out on heat 15 where Ellis got 0. Add 5 onto Emils score and it would have been what I expected …. And yes speedway is all about its and buts but to me Sheffield riders didn’t leave any points behind on the track where as Ipswich did
One thing is for certain that the Holder brothers are usually poor at Foxhall so I’m more worried about other teams at our place namely Leicester who have riders that go well at Foxhall
-
Thought we may have won this by more but fair play to the Brummies
This season we have two second strings that can score 11-15 between them and 2 reserves who can get 8-10 between them
Even the lower end of that means the 3 heat leaders need to get 27 between them which will happen most weeks … even with Emil and Danny struggling last night the heat leaders got 23….
I think we will be very tough to beat this season but we will see
-
Sheffield fans on social media hailing the comeback should look at why they needed to make that comeback and getting a draw at the possibly weakest side isn’t exactly a good result
Holder snr has been poor either winning or last and 9 points from 8 rides is a shocking return for a third heat leader. Couple this with the fact the reserves are one of the weakest and Jack isn’t flying yet means it’s been a poor start for Sheffield
But well done Birmingham a backs against the wall jobs and a good result

Great first night performance
Emil said afterwards his first bike going back to the manufacturer lol… got stuck on the kerb trying to shepherd Ellis home and Bewley blasted round the outside … and as always after the meeting he hung around signed every autograph posed for every picture what a credit he is to British speedway
King was awesome tonight and Dan T did so well boy he can gate
Jordan after a duck egg in the reserves race did well after and Ellis did very well and a great signing if he maintains that
Rew was ok not spectacular and Scott did a good job with 7 from 4…. Think Doyle would have had at least 10 though
For Belle Vue Kurtz and Bewley looked awesome early on but faded especially Kurtz
Lidsey Cook and Bailey were the let downs for Belle Vue but Mountain rode very well
One last point had a good chat with Bewley after the meeting … said he actually loves the Ipswich track but he wasn’t riding great last season but feels he has his mojo back …. Level headed a pleasure to chat to and had time for everyone afterwards … again a credit to British Speedway … something Tai and Lambert could learn from

The possibility now of no Doyle swings this in Belle Vues favour if he ride though r/r should get us maybe 8 from 4

regarding Dan, he’s had his metal work out now. So hopefully see a new Dan next season.
It’s a decent side I don’t think any side can be classed as poor until we see what they go like as a team
However my team Ipswich and Belle Vue have replaced 2 riders each from the 1-7 last season
Belle Vue replace Wright and Brennan ( who in the league meetings at Foxhall got 15 and 19 between them ) with Cook and Mountain which makes them weaker in my opinion (especially at Foxhall)….. and Ipswich have replaced Riss and Hume with Ellis and Jenkins which in my opinion makes them stronger … so we beat Belle Vue in the play offs last year and this season I would fancy us again
I admit obviously each team has strengths at different tracks like Sheffield look strong but the Holders sulk at Foxhall and Tai hasn’t been there for years …. For example Iversen and Musielek will probably outscore the Holder brothers easily at Foxhall
Still it’s all about opinions … may the best team win lol

4 hours ago, cowboy cookie returns? said:I think 5 are spot on, including Wojdylo.
I have a feeling it could look something like
Emil 10.10
Ellis 5.56
Brennan 5.87
Wojdylo 5.00
Doyle 9.10
Rew 4.00
D. Thompson
we need riders with plenty of improvement & Ellis, Brennan & Wojodyo gives you far more than having King & Lambert.
Thats if I’ve worked the British reduction out correctly
I also expect Rew to kick on as well.
King Riss and Hume our for Ellis Brennan and Wojdylo......................thats pretty strong and possibly always having one strong reserve though the Pole is a worry on our track lol
I still cant see Ipswich letting Danny go. Club captain and led us to a trophy and his form improved at the end of the season and very good friends with the management.
Personally the team you have listed can be title winners and definitely better than the Sheffield 1-7
-
That top 3 will ensure no home losses
Though when they come to us at Ipswich the Holder brothers usually spit the dummy so I wouldn’t expect them to win at our place but you never know

Cant see Musielek at Ipswich as that would mean no King and i cant see that happening
I would love to see Musielek he is a class act on and off the track......i remember the cup final and he was the only Sheffield rider to congratulate the Ipswich fans..........while the others stropped and sulked ....god id hate my team to have a Holder brother or Tai no matter how many points they brought in
Emil
Doyle
King
Ellis/Brennan
?
Rew
D Thompson
Who we can get and how much we have to play with i dont know
Riss to me looks a gamble.......Never looked comfortable on the bike to me but maybe his average fits and would there be anyone better
This means Hume out for either Ellis or Brennan (if that works) and that looks strong to me
-
Doyle and Emil are definitely back so I’ve heard so to get Tobi will mean a lot of outlay and no King…. Not sure that will happen but for me I would go for it why not
Means the side built along the same lines except Tobi for King which is an upgrade
Riss is still a worry .. yes a low average but his demeanour on the bike wasn’t good and I’d be concerned on him improving on it
Rew should add hopefully 1.5 on his average.
Dan Thompson a no brainier as the rising star
Hume is a difficult one as he is a fans favourite , gives 110% and is always amenable and friendly after a meeting …. If we do go top heavy with Doyle Musi and Emil is there a better rider on his average? Not sure there is

Trying to think why Poole fans are given a hard time on this forum……. Simply read this thread it tells you all you need to know about them ……
What a bunch of absolute (insert word deemed appropriate)
Think their club is the best ever biggest ever and nobody wants to leave ever … only if you ride for Poole will you ever improve as a rider
Shocking to let Rowe go young British rider done well and see you later …. The Thompson twins have no desire to be Poole riders and I know that for a fact
But anyway let’s just let these fans have their thread
Lawson going nowhere but Ben Cook is looking likely it’s been mentioned at most places …
Im sure Poole will build a half decent side they often do … but to be so pig headed is just weird

5 hours ago, Skidder1 said:So if your team had a 'meaningless' end of season challenge, you wouldn't go and support it?
No I wouldn’t especially if it means nothing and racing against a select 7 in a match that my team will win easily … I have better things to spend my money on…. I only missed 2 matches at Foxhall this season but if we was racing a very weak team in a match that means nothing I wouldn’t spend £50 of my money no
2 hours ago, Steve Shovlar said:Shows how big Poole are compared to any other club when if we actually lose a final there’s a pile on. So rare has been this event. And next year we can be sure Poole will be up there again at the end of the season. Has been this way since the millennium and nothing will change that.
A shame tonight is off but the rain was torrential last night and with rain still around at the moment it’s no surprise. Hopefully there’s time to re-arrange before 1st November
No you fool the reason there is a pile on is because of people like you who dish it out week after week and yet can’t take it back
Poole are disliked for their antics over the years and the absolute buffoons of supporters on here who literally have no clue about the sport
Ask most fans on here which club has the most pathetic fan base and Poole would win by a mile
That said people like foreverblue and rayc are decent enough
-
Kemp a reserve all season rides at 2
Hume a second string rides as a heat leader
Allen got 4 last week at Poole
Flint and Edwards struggled at Poole this season
Butcher…. Ever ridden there!
Yes Shovlar 2 evenly matched teams …. Cretin
-
Oh dear god I’ve read it all now
Shovlar trying not only to big this meeting up as important….. when nobody even Leicester fans care as it’s not worth a thing ….. but then he says ‘2 evenly matched teams’ ….. with Leicester slightly stronger!!
The man is deluded or a child
With the exception of Harris Leicester have no chance at all and are weaker in pretty much every area….. Cook against Hume is for one quite laughable
Poole will hit at least 55…..
How any Poole fan would part with money to go watch this is beyond me
Well done Shovlar you will get one prize this season and no doubt we will get race by race commentary and a match report and how amazing it is to win a trophy
Poole , just like my team Ipswich , choked when it mattered ….. winning a tin pot trophy against an extremely weak opponent will gloss over nothing

49-41 in the league meeting where Rowe got 6 + 1 and Scunthorpe got 8 from Clegg and Mountain
45-45 in the play offs where Rowe again got 6 + 1 but Scunthorpe got 15 from Kemp and Mountain with Lambert and Palm Toft having poor nights
R/R for Rowe makes Poole weaker but they can use Tac Sub in the up i believe
I doubt Douglas and Kemp will get 30 again but Douglas in 12 races at Poole has got 35 out of 36 points
A lot depends on how Lambert and Palm Toft go if they can get 12 or 13 between them then this will be close
Douglas 15 maybe from 6
Mountain 3
Lambert 6
Allen 7
Palm Toft 5
Kemp 7
Ablitt 1
Thats 44 and broken down like that looks possible
Poole are favourites without question but this could be close
Wasn’t far out
To many cocky Poole fans but as pointed out Scunthorpe drew earlier in the season
I said if Lambert and Palm Toft got 12 or 13 or would be close and they got 15
I got Allen and Mountain the wrong way round and Kemp got slightly more
-
All the Poole fans all cocky saying the tie was over and they choked huge huge choke
Poole specialist Douglas doesn’t win a heat and yet Poole still couldn’t win ….. Steve Worrall really has gone missing in both finals
So so sweet

He also won the Olympique last night, where experienced track specialists like Dougie and Harris got sixes and sevens. And yet he is going to only be a Champ second string according to you. Either you are trolling or never watch him ride! lol
Zach is a decent enough rider but i cant see him improving much past where he is
Averaging 6.22 isnt pulling up any trees
He does his job scoring 7 or 8 at home and often beating his opposing number second string and the other teams reserve.
He did very well at Scunthorpe and did out score Duggy but had one extra ride and yes he won the Olympique but that throws up odd results because of the format
Ben is the one going places out of the two.
That said i would take either at Ipswich next season as a number 6

If Ipswich don’t sign up Emil and Doyle they will lose a fair number of fans
These 2 put bums on seats and provide huge entertainment…. I’ve bask going Foxhall since 1985 and I can’t remember the atmosphere being as good
We won the cup and almost (should have ) won the league
I love to win a trophy and the cup final night was epic….. however I also like to enjoy watching
Not sure how this fits
1. Emil
2. ?
3.King
4. ?
5. Doyle
6. Rew
7. Dan Thompson
What does that leave?
Is there room for Brennan or one of the Cook brothers ….. even if this means Rew going to 2 or 4
Got to say wouldn’t want Erik back …. Nice guy but so far off it and looks hesitant in races

Just now, lisa-colette said:Zach Cook outscored Dougie at Scunny but yeah we are so off form If we were off form we would have lost by 8-12.
But we do need to start meetings better.
You go there end of September and win by 10
You go there today same team and lose by 4
Is that not a drop in form?
-
Shovlar commenting all through a meet when Poole aren’t being beat lol comical
What is up with this Poole side absolutely so off form Lawson and Worrall again pretty average
Poole won by 10 last time and this time with the advantage of r/r ( Cook can ride where’s last time reserves only ) and they lose by 4 that’s a big swing
Something clearly not right with the Pirates to lose a meeting they clearly should have won …. I’d expect them to win the cup as can’t see Douglas and Kemp getting 30 again

12 hours ago, SharpenRake said:What Marcin scored at the BSN final is irrelevant. The Tigers team only got 28! The track was different last night so you can't just assume Marcin would have had a nightmare that's just illogical.
Spot on it’s just Shovlar being a clown as normal the man is just a child trolling for kicks
Marcin did indeed get 0
But in the same meeting Lawson and Worrall got 27 between them beaten only once ….. yet in the final they got 17…..
Poole fans need to be looking at their performance rather then other areas
Did anyone see how petulant Lawson was going back to the pits after heat 13?? One of the most disliked riders can’t think why lol

Glasgow don’t run at a loss
The Shovlar is upset that Poole aren’t the biggest club in the league
And yes they would sack Kyle or Anders for Tarasenko who wouldn’t …..
Poole have pulled numerous strokes over the years some outside the rules … Glasgow didn’t act outside the rules
Fact is Worrall and Lawson let Poole down …. Their scores in both legs weren’t good enough
