  1. Crying shame to see one of my fav riders Nki struggle so much - as already posted probably should of packed it in this winter. Had a run of horrific injuries and is the wrong side of 40 now.

Could still turn it around of course but on his two performances so far he will probably do well to average 6 this season

Why should Plymouth not be anywhere near the middle tier you clown, on Monday we had a months rainfall in 24 hours, tell me a track what could take that the promotion are trying to make the track better and there’s keyboard warriors like you giving them grief for it the weather down here for the last few months has been horrendous what are they meant to do.wind your neck in concentrate on your own team whoever they are and keep your nose out of something that doesn’t concern you.

Your club is a shambles and ever since joining the middle tier , under Bowden and current management, there is always something going on thats not good.

Those pictures of your track work summed up the level the clubs at. That JCB must be at least 40 years old?

Plymouth is a third tier club. My club Newport in the last 6 or 7 years of its existence was also just a third tier club operating beyond their means in the second tier. I didn't admit it at the time as , as a fan, you want your team operating in the highest league possible. But on such low crowds it should of been in the National / Conference league.

Plymouth is a third tier club. Admit it and move on. Do you think the likes of Glasgow or Poole would struggle so much with replacing a heatleader? No chance.

Not sure the Birmingham riders got the memo about struggling! :D Although tbh perfect time to ride against Sheffield, they haven't really got going yet.

Also good to read on speedway updates that they have got a big crowd in.

Haven't got going yet? Its meeting number 2 for god sake. You really do bring it on yourself with your thick comments.

Birmingham doing well fair play and a big crowd in sounds good. Hopefully hold on for a win.

As has been said so many times on here this season they can only use the track on  a Monday night so what league does that leave drrrr.

If that is the case then why not pull the plug instead of driving yourself further into debt?

Just out of interest,  does everyone think that birmingham didn't ask riss , thorssell, Lindgren etc during the winter? Personally I expect they have all been asked and refused for various reasons and the club have landed with the best they could get. Is it not time to start to back the club ( turn up tomorrow would help) and stop trying to knock the club down before a wheel has turned.

What part of my message is knocking the club?

But for what its worth, its an absolutely mental decision for Brum to of gone up a league with such a poor side. Have struggling sides attracted good crowds previously? No.

So they had to take a gamble and go up with a league challenging side to have a chance of making this work. And they haven't built a league challenging side. Its bottom of the table material unless big changes are made. The top 2, one is injured before a wheel has been turned and the other looks like being well out of his depth at number 1. Doesn't bode well, does it?

Would of been far better staying in middle tier and building a title winning side. Fair enough asking home fans to back the club and turn up but others who aren't fans of the club can see exactly what is going to happen.

  6. Seen some video footage on social media earlier of the state the stadium is now in... such a shame. Had a couple of great days there for the PL4TT in late 90s and early 00s. Brilliant track, IMO the best in British Speedway. Now gone.

Its going to be an on going thing for stadiums that are built on other peoples land are going to continue falling by the wayside.

What a strange response, twice. You put words in Steve Parks mouth, he only corrected what Mark Courtney was charged with, and you came out accusing him of saying one thing being worse than another.

Now you’ve called it a bizarre take to trust a drug trafficker on a 60mph bike with no brakes, over a drug user?

Wasn't Courtney banned once for failing a drug test? May not of been , it would of been a while ago.

Garrity was allegedly into all sorts of drugs but that seemingly isn't the issue. Roger Lobb and Frank Smart were banned for failed tests yet came back and were successful - Smart's best season was the year he came back after he was banned. Its the crimes Garrity committed whilst under the influence of drugs that sit badly with anyone with any self respect or morals. Mugging OAPs is one of the lowest crimes you can commit. No excuses , drug addict or not.

  8. Calls for a second chance for that crackhead Garrity are ridiculous. The guys a junkie who robbed old and vulnerable people. Has a big history of robbing team mates as well and being nothing but hassle as well as being a liability on track. Should never be granted a license to ride ever again and Lewy's comments must of been a wind up as nobody with half a brain would post such rubbish.

What did Eddie Kennett "do" that PP should seek to emulate?

Surely the issue over Eddie Kennet was how his team's management twisted (or were allowed to twist. by the BSPZzz) the rule book inside out in order to gain advantage? That's not something that the rider is necessarily responsible for. And didn't the Brummies do something very similar with James Wright already? "Fool me once", and all that. And if you are advocating more rules and regulations shenanigans, aren't you advocating a course of action that is at the heart of why the sport is losing so much of it's fan base?

Kennett crashed heavily in his opening ride and smashed his arm in, didnt he?

  10. One thing that has made me laugh on this thread is how people slam the rules yet want Pawlicki to turn up and "do a Kennett" so they can replace him with guests?

Pawlicki missing is a big loss. I would still be shocked if he takes part in more than 6 meetings for Birmingham over a full season.

  11. Have said it before, Doyle gets unfair stick. He has given the UK and world speedway nothing but 100 percent since he made his debt in Europe. He raced for Newport in 2011, had a knackered shoulder all season but still give nothing but 100 percent and put off getting surgery until after we had secured the KO cup trophy.

Can be a little reckless on track but thats through over trying more than anything else. A brilliant rider and will be hugely missed once he retires. But I reckon thats still a while away and he will almost certainly be in the top 3 averages come the end of the season.

    Agreed.

Surely there can't be too many riders in the Championship on >=£100 a point?

I know that rider overheads and running costs are crazy but even so.

Stonehewer back in early 2000s was rumoured to be on around that figure so given that was 20 years ago, it wouldn't seem unlikely to be the case now.

Some people on here will remember the "noughties" when Newport were habitually one of the last teams to declare. I suspect that the mastermind behind that is influencing recruitment and PR tactics now too.

Who would that be then? As in the three years LR was at Newport the teams were announced very quickly.

Tim Stone in his latter years at Newport would take ages to declare his side - I remember one year the season had already started and we hadn't announced our number 1!

But Compton was a hard rider, not out and out dirty/reckless rider

You have to be joking surely!

as much as he was great to watch , he was absolutely a dirty and reckless rider. Ask Dave Mullet and Craig Watson for a start! And Simon Stead !

Says who?  Yours is one of those posts that spreads the sort of fake news that turns people like Lefty off from going to Birmingham for the speedway.

He is, dont trust anything he says. Defrauded the government out of near 100k as well. All online to see .
