    Jubilee championship league

That'll be Leicester then, as then won the league.
  3. Your first sentence sums the situation up perfectly. Since last Thursday I don't think we've gone through a 24 hour period without any rain. The heavy rain we had for more or less 48 hours that started last Thursday & didn't really stop until after dark on Friday was I suspect the main cause of the problem, although Saturday was dry, at this time of year no way was that going to dry out. Then it started again Saturday evening & Sunday I woke up to absolutely torrential rain. And this week the pattern has been the same, we've had a couple of dry days, but not together, then it has rained most nights or early mornings & it's been steady rain over a number of hours each time.

    Premiership Pairs

If you're getting there at 6pm , you should easily get on the stadium car park, which is behind the shopping centre, no charge & you won't have to worry about the 4 hour limit you have if you park at the shopping centre. Sat nav LE4 1DS.

    Might be a wise move.

    Premiership Pairs

Not too much in the way of food nearby, there's a McDonald's, Subway & chip shop all next to each other in the shopping centre next to the stadium.

    Premiership Pairs

It's been shocking since Thursday, we had heavy rain most of Thursday, even heavier rain all day Friday & then people wonder why Saturday was called off. It was dry on Saturday, but then started raining again at 11 on Saturday evening. When I got up on Sunday it was absolutely torrential rain for a couple of hours. It's been dry this afternoon, but it will take some drying out

    Poole v Leicester 08/06/22

This got me puzzled because I thought my memory was playing tricks, but I was certain I was there in the 80's when Lions beat Poole. On holiday at the time in what was the old Leicester holiday fortnight. So I checked & the memory wasn't playing tricks 7th July 1982, Poole 38 Leicester 40. Wasn't a last heat decider though Poole got a 5-1 in heat 13 to narrow the scoreline. Neil Collins top -scored with 11 , brother Les 10, Lions were using R/R for Colin Cook & lost Steve Regeling after 2 races, so effectively won with 5 riders.

That 4.16 does include the dropping of 2 more meetings , Leicester always update the rolling averages after each meeting on their website . The rolling averages on there now show 16 meetings , which is the figure that will be used for the July averages, obviously Rowe won't ride for them again so his average will remain unchanged.

Can't do that at the moment, because his average is, I think 4.06, Rowe's is only 3.95, which is why as i mentioned earlier i'll think they'll use guests until July's averages come into effect , when Rowe's rolling average jumps to 4.16, thus allowing Keleher to fit.

This is how I see this panning out. Lions & Rowe part company on the 2nd of June, after a few weeks of rumours. Lions apply for 28 day facility which conviently takes us to 30th June, in the mean time use the facility to pick suitable guests. On the 1st of July the new averages come into effect, now it just so happens that Rowe now as a rolling average of 4.16 ( see lions statistics page on their website). Because the rolling average is losing 2 matches a month, so started at 20, then 18 for May, 16 for June, so when the June averages are annouced on the 23rd of June it seems Rowe must have lost 3 lowish scores & will be replaced with the 9 he scored at Birmingham, hence the jump from 3.95 to 4.16. This will give them more scope to find a replacement, possibly Zane Keleher, who looks like he finished last season on 4.06 or maybe an untried Aussie on a 4.00.

leicester lions already lost it ?

Said when the team was announced it had 3 heat leaders, 1 average 2nd string & 3 reserves. The twins can only ride Leicester, this means unless the 3 heat leaders all get double figures, they're not going to get many points on the road. You can't carry 2 riders & expect to win on your travels. Admire the loyalty shown to them & not saying they should be dropped, but for this year there's no way Leicester will beat the likes of Poole & Glasgow over 2 legs. Might scrape into the play-offs, but that's about it.

The simple answer is at present Joe isn't quite as good as Dan yet. The answer to why Dan's scoring tailed off is obvious, he moved into the main team, that's why he shouldn't be given that burden from the start next season.

Agree with you that Mountain is a concern as senior 2nd, but I think he can step up. As for Sargent it would have to be no thanks, he's had enough chances over the years, at least a youngster like Rowe has got room for improvement. But I'd still have concerns over the makeup of any team with Dan in the main body, although like you say he would probably swap during the season.

    Leicester Lions 2022 Line up

I think they'll stick with Joe, because his average is low & there is room for improvement, but like you say Dan's average is inflated because of his spell at reserve. When he rode in the main body of the team his scores were disapointing , I know people on here previosly have said he earnt his average which is true, but he got it mainly from reserve, if as expected Howarth is the 4th signing, Dan wouldn't be at reserve & would find it difficult to maintain that average. It would be like fielding a side with 3 reserves, 1 decent 2nd string & 3 heat leaders. Like you say not good enough to win the league, but do you keep both of them in the hope that they really kick on this year & hope for a play-off spot?

    Nightmare signings

2 other nightmare signings spring to mind when taking about Leicester, Davey Watt & Bjarne Pedersen, i've seen some poor riders at Leicester in the early days, but at least most of them tried, unlike these pair. What a waste of time they were.

Realistically you wouldn't pick Dan with his average of 5.16, he would more than likely be in the main body of the team with that average & has proved this year , he isn't quite good enough yet to do that, especially away from home. It didn't help getting those big scores early season at reserve which inflated his average , thus leaving him vunerable for next season. Especially when they could use asset Connor Mountain for pretty much the same average, he'll score much more than Dan away from home. If, has been rumoured, it's 2 rising stars next season & it's on a rating basis rather than averages, then presumably both the twins would be back.
  19. Can't use guests from the other 5 play-off teams, the only rider who fits that is over 8.00 is Riss, who is unlikely to be still in the country, Harris is the next highest on 7.89. So on paper the guest can be up to 8.36 but in reality that's not going to happen. If it is to be Harris, & that's got to be in doubt if Peterborough have a say in the matter, then his average is nearly 0.5 down on Hans. Andersen being an ex-Pirate has done 100's of laps of Wimborne Road, how does him being out make Lions stronger.
  20. It's R/R for Jorgensen, Kasper Andersen for Aarnio & Connor Mountain at reserve for Pijper , according to Lions website.

Jack Thomas now injured, so Greg Blair guests for Joe Thompson.

The entrance at the clubhouse is the only entrance for spectators. That entrance is actually the bar & car park, the stadium is a futher 5 minute walk up the hill, just walk through the car park & up the path. When you reach the stadium buy your tickets from 1 of the 2 hatches & then show it at the gate.

    Scunny v Leicester 3.9.21

I would have thought R/R would have been better, everyone could have taken a ride, would have thought Andersen, Douglas ,Howarth & 1 other would score more than Summers, who's been very average this season. I know going with 6 riders is a risk, but on this occasion seems a better choice. Lambert at reserve should be a trump card for Scunthorpe.

    Leicester Lions 2021

Wasn't Palovaara the rider they tried to sign mid-way through the 2019 season, but because he was owned by Glasgow & they were the main rivals for the title, they refused to give permission for the move, so maybe he's one they could be looking at again. Travel might be an issue though, like you say. The new signing really needs to be completed by 1st of July, because Proctor's average falls from 6.84 to 5.42 on that date, so they will lose 1.42 on a like for like swap after that date. Perks would fit nicely if he could be tempted back.
