  1. Have to agree, reserve pairing looks very weak, can only see a 2-10 score in the reserve heats.Presume Sarjeant may have guested if he wasn't riding for Coventry Storm, but still could have used Rose, Halsey or Morley.
  2. Went a bit STALE at Leicester & KNEADED a change !
  3. What's the betting it'll be Perry for Nielsen
  4. Surely common sense will prevail & this meeting will be cancelled, With the GP qualifiers that day Swindon will be missing Batchelor & Kildemand . Lions will be without Doyle & Korneliussen plus still require a guest for Hougaard, unless a signing is made before then. Eastbourne have already cancelled their meeting that evening surely Leicester should follow suit & maybe re- arrange for the monday 23rd June.

    Lions On Sky

Can't see the crowd being that good, it's the start of the local school holidays that week & lots of people will be going away. I for one will now miss a match that i have paid for on my season ticket because it's been moved from the original date.

Leicester V Swindon Saturday June 21st

David Hemsley, you 've got rid of enough riders in the last 4 years, now do us all a favour & get rid of Norrie Allen, was he the only person in the stadium who thought Hansen( without a point ), was a better bet to take a T/R than Stead who had won his last 2 rides.
  7. Kings Lynn using R/R for Bjerre. Sam Masters guests for Lambert, usually Sam goes well at Leicester & good choice of guest. Lions have Hansen for Hougaard. Guest for Doyle to be annouced.Looking at latest averages they could use Tai, with Doyles average being 7.75 plus 5% for home average bringing it to 8.14. But would imagine if he's in Poland on sunday that's unlikely.

    Swindon V Leicester 05/06/2014

Yes , you're right, website does say Jacobs in for Perry, not Bates, so the change must be after tomorrows meeting.

    Swindon V Leicester 05/06/2014

Tom Perry as been dropped by Leicester & replaced by Josh Bates, but as Bates is riding for Sheffield tomorrow is place is taken by Joe Jacobs. Lions website shows guest or R/R for Hougaard so doesn't look like they have decided yet.
  10. Hope that is for Hougaard & not Doyle. Hougaard was supposed to be riding in Poland today , but isn't riding for Lions tomorrow at Wolves (Schlein guests again) so we still really don't know whether he's returning or not.

    Eastbourne V Leicester 31/5

I don't know how difficult it is to arrange guests at fairly short notice, but Lions had 48 hours to get a replacement for their original guest, James Sarjeant, who was standing in for the injured Tom Perry before he was injured himself on Thursday. Perry is no.11 in the draft list so they could have anyone from no.12 downwards & they pick someone who is no.34 on the list. Surely they could have had someone better it's not like there was lots of other meetings on tonight.

Leicester Lion Cubs Vs. Stoke (nt)

Lions cubs line-up as now changed following Sarjeants injury & Dan Greenwoods release from Newcastle.Dan now replaces Ollie Greenwood. 1.Marc Owen 2.Dan Greenwood 3. Tom Perry 4. Max Clegg 5. R/R for James Sarjeant 6.Tom Woolley 7.Adam Kirby
  13. I'm guessing you perhaps came to the Ben fund meeting when finding a parking spot was a bit of a nightmare, because it was an afternoon meeting & the shopping centre car park was full of shoppers. But for meetings in the evenings there is no problem parking on the shopping centre as long as you're not longer than 4 hours, or else you face a fine.If you want to park in the speedway car park you would probably need to park up about an hour before start time has it does fill up quickly. Presume Lions will still be looking for a guest for Hougaard as well, although looks like Tom Perry is practicing this weekend & might make his comeback for the cubs on sunday.

Nothing against Lasse, who's always good to watch & gives 100%, but when Hemsley said the rider would be " an exciting long -term replacement for Peter Ljung" , i thought it sounded like he was going to sign a young prospect who would become an asset of the club & be there for the future, not someone who's an asset of another club.

Lions website says Lasse Bjerre back to replace Ljung.

Can't be him he's above Perry in draft list,it has to be someone below, maybe Ollie Greenwood i know he's on the list to be used as guest only, but if it's a short -term deal perhaps he might do it, he certainly looked good when Peterborough were at BP earlier in the season

If it's true that Hougarrd has quit as well & we've got to find two replacements, then maybe Sunstrom & Bjerre might be an option,i think they just fit average wise. Bjerre missing meetings might be a problem, but as far i can tell by looking at the fixtures it would only be 3 meetings, as 2 of the 3 u-21 meetings don't clash with Lions fixtures. The biggest problem would be 24th July when we meet Eastbourne, the same night as Sheffield v Peterborough meaning Stead & Bjerre would be missing.
  19. The trouble is with Lions picking someone so low in the list as Clegg was ( no.23 ) & i think he's now at no.27, they can only replace him with someone lower in the draft list, which rules out Ollie Greenwood, & doesn't leave much choice. No-one below Clegg really looks any better, but maybe Crang might be the best bet.
  20. I think you can get tickets in the bar,but is it by card payment only, maybe someone can confirm this, but maybe wise to get tickets from there if you can .Because like Nightshift says unless they've cut another couple of holes in the fence to serve people the queues could be long & i can feel a delayed start coming on.
  21. Skornicki to guest tonight

Thanks for that, looks like some of the original plans ( football pitches, cycle track & bmx ) might have backers now & might get go ahead if council approve.

The Tesco car park is certainly not ideal with that 4 hour limit. They must have been lots of people faced with the prospect of missing the re-run of heat 15 or facing an £80 fine for being over the car park time limit on saturday. I parked up at 6.20 & judging by the amount of cars & the queues of people at the stadium there must have been dozens of people already parked up well before that. With the delay in the start to allow people in & the 3 crashes I looked at my watch at 9.50 with the ambulance still on the track and thought I was pushing it time wise, l think many would have thought the same & faced with an £80 fine would have left before the re-run.l decided to risk it & exited the car park with 2 minutes to spare. The land next to the stadium would make an ideal car park, & would certainly be less of a walk for those not too good on their feet. In the Leicester Mercury about 10 days ago, under the planning applications section, there was an amended planning application from Leicester speedway for a "major development". I looked on the city council website & typed in the planning number to view the plans, but like many things to do with Leicester city council, the link didn't work.Anyone got any idea what the amended plans are?

    Elite League Draft Riders

He certainly looked very good last night at Leicester & i was most impressed with him.Joe Jacobs was also good & I don't think Wolves fans should have any worries about him performing well for them this season. Which is more than Leicester can say about their reserves.
  25. Also Max Clegg in British u-21 semi- final at Plymouth that night too.
