  1. Seeing the Governments allocation of it's £300 million winter survival deal for sport : Rugby Union: £135 million Horseracing racecourses: £40 million Football: £28 million Rugby League: £12million Motorsport: £6million Tennis £5million Netball £4million Basketball £4million Ice Hockey £4million Badminton £2million Greyhound racing £1million What has speedway done not to be allocated any money ? (after being awarded a pilot test event by the government) When you look at the A-Z of Sport on the BBC Sport web page not a mention of Speedway no coverage at all? Answers on a postcard please.

    Lack Of Speedway Promotion?

Plenty of advertising in South Wales area for the Grand Prix none on the BBC News or Sport, when you see Mike Bushell from the BBC reporting on Bog Snorkling and Cheese Rolling Championships just goes to show how far down the pecking order Speedways is. The biggest event in the Speedway Calender and not a mention. Someone somewhere has got it all wrong.

    Speedway On Eurosport

Just watching Ralio+ on S4C Wales showing highlights of the Grand Prix from Auckland and Bydgoszcz commentary in welsh (sub titles in English) have there own guy at both tracks showing Sayfutdinov bike and explaining about engine clutch suspension and sprockets gets quite excited about how they go around the track with no brakes also interviewing Woffinden in Poland good commentary nice to see that speedway is being covered on other channels well done S4C.

    Bristol Speedway

I remember going over for the first meeting following the Newport riders, we were on the second bend and some workers were still lay the track and they wasn't rushing to do it, along come Wally Mawdsley and he started talking to them he them put his hand in his pocket pulled out a wad of notes and reeled of a couple of notes gave them to the workers who all of a sudden went into top gear and finished laying the track.

    Not Converted

You can attend any sport Football,Rugby,F1 and you don't know how the game or race is going to turn out how many times have you seen football spectators walking out because they were fed up,watching F1 recently for two hours waiting for something to happen then the first four drivers are told to slow down save the engine fuel and tyres and the only overtaking is done in the pits.Speedway like all sports is exciting to watch when you get a good meeting and let's hope that speedway will return to better days at least you can say that speedway fans are true fans not like alot of sports today it's corporate and people who go along don't have a clue what's going on.

    Mauger Retirement

Ivan was one of the best rider to enter speedway and was way ahead of his time, he was a true professional in all aspects of the sport and a model to anybody coming into the sport. Ivan's name was up there amongst the top sportsmen in his hey day all the best wishes for the future Ivan & Rae.

    Curfews

Having read most of the comments about the future of speedway and the admission prices how many tracks have curfews on them and how many meetings are cut short per season?
  12. South Wales Argus today City stadium could close to save £50,000 as part of council cuts. Newport council spokeswoman said: Newport City Council is looking at all of it's services in the light of the need to make significant savings over the next five years."Work to explore the best way forward for the stadium will start during 2013. Any proposals regarding a change in the operator will be included in the options for in-house or external delivery of sport and leisure facilities. Right next to the National Veladrome and cycle speedway track and just up the road from where a site is being looked at for Speedway, remove the running track lay a speedway track or remove football pitch lay track inside of running track floodlights all in place up and racing in no time any takers?

    Freddie Williams R.i.p

Sad news R.I.P Freddie a true champion and proud Welshman, shame on both BBC Wales & ITV Wales Sport for not recognising the greatest speedway rider to come out of Wales.
  14. Having read that Formula1 teams are in talks about joining an electric racing series to be launched next year. With a F1 budget of £115 million a year to run a team, the new Formula E will need a budget of about £3 million. With Egon Muller testing electric speedway motors is this something that can be looked at in the future for speedway say for the winter. In door arena with a karting track in the middle could be a start for training youngsters low cost perhaps a league and NO RAIN OFFS. Thoughts
