I seem to remember a tarmac laying machine being used in either 60s or 70s to dry out a world final track.

I agree with Ford's stand. However, it is much easier to do it with a rider like Jack Holder, who may not even get a ride in Poland and who is likely, at this point in his career, to earn far more in the UK, than it would be, for example, with Chris Holder, who is likely to ride fir his team in every Polish fixture and earn considerably more there. Again, at the moment, Chris is a much bigger draw card here than Jack and much more difficult to replace.
If we are going to make a stand I think we should have agreed it before team building began and not signed riders who were going to be affected by the Polish restriction nor any Polish riders.
If they pay him.

I was there a couple of yers ago and the skeleton of the Stand is still there if I remember correctly. Parts of the Track too.
What happened to this move with Berwick..

Just a thought but are they doing a 250 engine. Would seem strange that any youngster coming through would have to go down the jawa route then change to the gerhard, surely the powers that be need to look at those coming through as well as those already riding.
They do a 250cc engine.

How do you do that blue writing link to something ?
It's probably because they are copying website address and pasting it.

It's been demolished.

Been having the comic weekly since 1966.

I knew it.
'Elf and bloody Safety.
Somebody need's to produce a large air freshener that smells of Castro R for use in the pits during the meeting.

Tell me about it! Mind you, the smell used to be accompanied by a smoke haze and you rarely see that today. Perhaps the engines are just "cleaner" now.
The engines are not total loss any more, so the hot oil doesn't drop out the bottom of the crankcase on to the ground or track. They have to be drained at the end of the meeting and disposed of environmentally.

Wasn't Richard Hall told he would have to ride on his 2004 conference average, when he wanted to race in the National League earlier this year?

Ok, the rule is new for this season, the rule is that riders are no longer allowed to "cut across" the centre green as a short cut to the tapes, or I would imagine, cutting across the centre green to get back to the pits or any other location on the track during the meeting.. It had been introduced to prevent injury to track staff, medics, presenters, VIPS, or any other people who might be on the centre green during racing. It also will prevent riders getting tangled up in spare tapes, audio/visual cables, track tools such as rakes/flags/gates/etc...
The 2 minute rule has also been modified to take the above into account as well......
At Stoke last night Lee Payne went clockwise round the track before the start of a race & went onto the centre green to get around the tapes. Margaret Vardy excluded him, but then let him go of 15mts.

Who was in charge of the track ?
It's not the track its the bike's?
-
What's the point of having a second line behind the tapes if the start marshal and the referee don't take any notice of it?

I never saw any rider excluded for looking behind that was the late 50s early 60s until the present day
Les Collins Rye House v Stoke 1976. For persistently looking behind according to the Ref.

How many British soldiers die fighting for our country and Team GB captain jokes around when our anthem is played is disrespectful.
How many Australian & New Zealand soldiers died for Britain in the two world wars?

He used a GM in his 1st & 2nd ride's. Then a GTR in his last 3 rides.
-
Just imagine if all riders used the same standard engine.

Swindon fans are thinking that the play offs will still take such reaching but as Hagonshocker says we had to get a rider in to replace Adrian & Rosco tried Killer but that didn't work out.
Like others I would've been happy with Shamek or a rider of similar average but as other clubs who wanted Darcy know they just are not there anymore.
The biggest positive is watching a team with a regular top 5 & not having to realise on guests etc.
Reaching the play offs is a massive bonus.
That's why we need give our home grown rider's more of a chance

The meeting finishes after the last race could be any time. Hope it doesn't go on for more than 3 hours.
