    Rye House 2018

All very quiet on the 2019 plans, if there are any. As Elsie Partridge would say "if there is anybody out there, please say something"

Still hope Lakeside can ride next season somewhere. If Jon Cook is off to Eastbourne and the "backer" Stuart Douglas has withdrawn from speedway why was Jon Cook so bullish in the Speedway Star about a deal has been made for Lakeside to run at Rye House next season? Is it that another promotor is lined up for Lakeside? as from many accounts the BSPA kicked out BMR not BMR going bust (so its a stretch to think they will allow BMR back as promotors). Still cant fathom, if Rye House were behind on payments to riders (still not proven how much) many other clubs have admitted the same yet were never thrown out. It seems punitive given the state of the sport and many tracks.

No Im not employed or contacted to BMR and I have criticized BMR many times, see its not that hard to answer a question.

last chance to answer my question "has he approached the BSPA" yes or no? and his statement was some time ago, is he still owed money yes or no?. If you cant answer these questions why are you making your point

Im confused, you say a public forum in the place and then you say Harris went public. I do not expect Harris to state his earnings or how much he is owed, but my question was has he approached the BSPA regarding payment from the bond.

I understood that even in thr NL the bond was around £30,000 so even if Harris was on £2,000 per meeting Rye House did not ride that many matches. cityrebel as you seem to know Harris, can you confirm did he get some money? and did he approach the BSPA?. All riders should be paid fullstop

If a Liverpool fan lived in Sydney and an English footballer played for Sydney Utd he might not attend, but if Sydney Utd played Liverpool in the league then I bet he would go. And anyway how about English fans flocking to see the worlds stars, afterall haven't we been told that if we can lure them back to England the sport would flourish.

Then he should contact the BSPA direct, the bond is there to cover any outstanding debts, is it not?

What a great suggestion. How about Rye House entering the Polish league, I would guess the Polish would love to have access to all the polish people in England, afterall there has been mutterings about a European League for some years. What could the BSPA do, ban Woffinden, Dudek, Zmarzlik, Hancock, Pedersen Holder C, etc etc

If and that's a big IF there is money outstanding to any riders then just take it out of the bond (it is suggested a bond is well into 5 figures). So we can all presume there is no money outstanding now!!

No financial backer, No Promotor, No Track. For Cook to have plans at Eastbourne, these must have happened since Monday, I think not. Rye House were just used to complete the season. So sorry for the loyal fans.

I have seen the numbers, they are correct. As for "Uncle" Len, you forget how bad the crowds were in the last few years (this time only I am only using the eyesight test) Some stands were rumoured to be condemned. It was the second time he sold the club in a complete mess.

If you attended matches at Rye House on a regular basis then you would have noticed: 1) crowds last year were mostly over 1,000 and sometimes 2,000, granted it was a higher standard of racing, the team was clearly motivated, mildly successful and it was also probably swollen with Lakeside fans rejecting NL. 2) crowds this year 700 to about 1,200 team atmosphere and lack of effort from some riders was noticeably different and Fixed Race Nights were a disaster and Lakeside (a very good Lakeside) back in the Championship and certain riders hugely overpaid (naïve by the management but everybody moans that they want some top riders back in English Speedway but boy are they costly) 3) First Lakeside match at Rye House the crowd was quite good and I saw a lot of Rye House fans there, steadily those fans have stopped going, from people I have spoken to it was partly due to unappreciative comments aimed at their club from certain Lakeside fans. The point I tried to make was "there are NOT enough Lakeside fans going to Rye House to make it viable" (what ever the reason is it doesn't matter, its just a fact) so they need some Rye House fans (points 1 or 2) to attend the Lakeside matches. Rye House did not go bust allegedly, if some riders were paid late (I don't know but lets presume so) look at Workington this year admitting the same, There have been rumours many times in the past that other teams have had a late payment history Finally each club are meant to pay a bond to the BSPA for their licence so surely if any club does not pay its riders then the money can come from the bond.

Well saidNickRushbrook a voice of reason at last from Lakeside. Here are a few facts: You do not have your own home (really hope that changes but boy you might be surprised how hard that is) Not enough Lakeside fans attended the matches at Rye to make it viable in the Championship Therefore you need a large group of Rye House fans to go as well Anybodys dreaming if they think that will change by moving to Eastbourne So the idiots at Lakeside who slag of the stadium (granted its not the Royal Albert Hall but there again nor was the Arena Essex Gravel Pit) who slag off the track (yep it was bold as a babys bottom but why didn't Lakeside keep the shale after their last meeting?) slag off the food (get real). All this did was alienate the Rye House fans whom see above you so need. Yes there were a number of valid issues but why insult your host when you have no home to go to yourself. NickRushbrook I hope the close season brings you good news for Lakeside you at least you deserve it

    2nd leg play off final

Congratulations Workington from Rye House fans
  19. "Anyway Michael he then ravished me" The beard and boobs were something else in fact "in the best possible taste" And who can forget the character Cupid Stunt for our younger viewers yes it really was allowed on telly in the 70s

    Why win the league ?

Absolutely, whilst hopefully the playoff teams make some money, the non playoff teams will not lose money because they are not in the playoffs, so its still a win situation.

    Why win the league ?

Who won the league 10 years ago? 5 years ago? 2 years ago? I bet you cant answer that. In short it doesn't matter all that much does it. What does matter is that teams come to the tapes the following season and a few big pay days at the end of the season might just make the difference, so the play offs are a good thing if you think it through. NO FANS NO MONEY NO SPEEDWAY
  22. I am very sad for you to lose your home I don't wish that on any fan even the "arch" rivals Mildenhall. Im sure its frustrating at Rye for multiple reasons but try to support your club, try to keep your club afloat in any format, its so much harder to re-launch a club. Good luck in the future and of course tonight.
  23. Cheap shot Waco (although probably accurate) by riding at Rye House at least your boys have a chance of reaching and even winning the league, there again for those ungratefuls perhaps you can hold it at Lakeside tonight.......whooops I forgot.
  24. The £7 discount is only if you come with a Miners helmet.
