Riders Who Come On Later In Their Careers.

Aub Lawson. He was always a good international class rider but in his late 40s he was at his very best and reached the World Championship rostrum.
  2. He's a weed, If Richie Worrall is mentioned he locks himself in the lavatory.
  3. Totally agree, there needs to be more than Kus shown the door, despite Duffills usual big talk, I will be surprised if they win a single match in the play-offs. I'd be pretty pleased if they proved me wrong though. :-)
  4. Absolutely right! For a rider of his experience it's a bit strange. When he dropped to reserve a lot of people said he would be just as big a scorer as Dyer, but he throws away loads of points through falls and sub-standard equipment.

    Sky. A Wasted Opportunity

And then there are guests! "The thing that makes speedway work in other countries is the tv showing and how the promot speedway"Do you mean like the no overtaking rule in Sweden and Denmark?.
  6. Erm, the Bears are top! and Diamonds fifth............It will probably change soon though :-)
  7. You make it sound as if he's a first time offender.
  8. At Mildenhall (and probably elsewhere) he was looked upon as someone who didn't hide from his past, and who turned his life around. No matter what anyone thinks to the seriousness of his crime, he can never be looked on in the same way again.

    Redcar Sign Worrall

Ritchie? Are there three of them?
  10. I think some people are missing the point. GB have no chance of winning, so why not blood some up and coming improving riders? Cook and Worrall would be top of my list, Harris has the experience both as a rider and an advisor, Woffinden will keep the score respectable. Kennett (and he's not alone) is a proven flop, and very unlikely to improve to WC level. I would have picked Barker ahead of Kennett, at least you would get 100% effort from him.
  11. Would you have picked Edward Kennett? Personally, I don't think he is international class. The British team have no chance of winning the thing but we have some very good prospects coming along, they need experience at this level, much as the Danes have done recently. My choice would have been Worrall (surely a big future) or Barker (guaranteed effort). But who would YOU have picked?

You are right! But I replied to a reply to my own post, only to be told (by a third party) that I had to move on!If one can't reply to things, It's a poor show! I do apologise if anyone but the intended recipient was offended.

    Track Prep.

The material used has more clay than it used to have, It is less porous than the stuff we used to have. It is more prone to ruts which lead to problems with directional stability. Tracks these days are often smaller than those of the past and that leads to harder turning and more potential damage. This is all combined with higher revving bikes with shallower treaded tyres and riders demanding tracks that make turning as easy as possible.

    Air Fences

What about FOAMFENCES! or that fence at Rye which Leaping Len claims is better than an air fence?
