    Electric Speedway

I would probably rather have electric Speedway in accessible places where locals can reach on foot or by public transport, than the current trend of opening tracks in the middle of nowhere. It's certainly worth experimenting with, even if it comes to nothing.

Crump? That certainly would be a coup. I would rather it was confined to riders who already ride here to be honest.

    The Start Of The Decline

True, but if you were then using that engine at a higher level you would probably still be paying tuning costs to keep it competitive at the higher level. It would work though, after a bit of testing and so on (I wonder how the current rev limiter tests are going, anyone hear anything?).

    The Start Of The Decline

The only problem with that (that I can see) is that riders switching between different levels, would actually need more equipment than now. I think a lower formula would need to be run independently from what ever was classed as above it.

    The Start Of The Decline

So a rider doesn't ride here, he is offered a place shared with another rider who doesn't ride here, they both decide to take it as it means more meetings, but not too many more to not be feasible in their busy schedule......And you say "they want twice the money"! Sorry, I don't understand the logic of that. It doesn't really affect riders already here, with the possible exception of Ward and Holder and I couldn't see Poole paying them each what they now get, for half the meetings.Anyway, it's all still just theory. You're not being "nasty", you are quite right and fully entitled to express your opinion. My own opinion is, I wish we would go it alone, I'm sick of every team being full of foreigners and sick of a Grand Prix system where some of the riders are selected on political grounds rather than ability, and where one country has three rounds. I doubt I will make myself popular with that opinion but never mind.

If you click on "team" it shows Wilko but not Dilger, something wrong somewhere.

    The Start Of The Decline

Polish speedway has declined dramatically, they used to claim it was bigger than football but it's nowhere near it now, look at the crowd figures they publish in the Speedway Star results, they are now a fraction of what they used to be, which is probably the reason why some clubs have gone bust and some riders never got paid. It's still a lot bigger than here but it certainly has problems. Some riders have indicated that they would consider the Elite league if there were less fixtures or they could share places (as Darcy Ward suggested). When you have Premier League teams made up almost entirely of overseas riders, something is wrong, other countries discriminate in favour of their own riders and we should do the same.

    Glasgow 2013

Well last year Paul Starke travelled up to Newcastle for a long series of guest bookings, which saw him improve tremendously, As far as I know he hasn't got a place in this years PL and would welcome a chance anywhere. Where is Charles Wright riding this year? There should be a list of available British riders before the start of every season and they should get the first offers, if they decline them, fair enough. There are still some promising NL riders who aren't getting PL chances. Meanwhile Poland Sweden and Denmark are getting more and more into using their own riders as the years go by, as for Australia? well if it wasn't for the Darren and Sharron Boocock set up in the last few years, there would have been probably no Brits riding there at all.

There are still British riders without places, they should get priority, we don't owe foreign riders a living (how many British riders are earning in overseas leagues?)........not so very many.

It's a surprise to me too, if you look on the MCF website, they are involved in all types of motorcycle events.

Total guesswork! You can't prove what you claim to be "fact".

    Get Rules Sorted

Firstly, your spelling is still awful, but I'll manage.Secondly, you have absolutely no idea who I am, so it is extremely assuming of you to claim that I don't know what's going on. Changing rules at the NL conference won't address the problems that you mention, I would like to see less overseas riders in EVERY league, but only the promoters in the other leagues can bring that about, I would be as pleased as you if two NL riders were taking up the reserve places in the PL, and it would also seem sensible to me that the reserves (at least) in the EL were PL riders. I will never see the NL as anything other than a development league, that is what it was originally intended to be, I think riders in the NL should be allowed every opportunity to test themselves in a higher (and better paid) league, be it as a guest or as a contracted rider. Many NL riders are already contracted to higher league clubs and should be able to be recalled for one meeting or any number that they are required for. We have to agree to disagree on some points, I do understand your concerns about crowd levels, to be honest I don't know how many clubs in all three leagues are keeping going, It's embarrassing when you watch meetings on SKY and the stadiums are virtually empty of spectators.

    Ten Riders To Improve Averages?

Dyer, both Worrall's, Nelson, Garrity, Cook (EL), Tungate (EL PL), Starke, Ellis, Harris.

    The Start Of The Decline

The introduction of four valve (and later lay down) engines. I remember the days when even some top riders would arrive with one bike on a rack on the back of the car, you had to slowdown more going into the bends and riders behind always seemed in with a chance.

Some might say (and I've heard them) that the real "insult" was allowing such as you to ride in it so long, but I do recognise your contribution to younger and less experienced riders. I did also agree that too many overseas riders are riding here, but I still see the National league as I described it.

I should add that I agree with lessening the number of foreigners in ALL our leagues and I notice that other countries seem to be working towards that. But sorry, I don't agree with your idea. What about clubs with teams in two leagues? That would mean they can't bring in their own riders in event of an injury or absence. Quite a number of National league riders are only on loan to National league clubs anyway.

The general idea is that riders are encouraged to better themselves and make progress, the National league was only ever meant to be a stepping stone. Sorry to be pedantic, but learn to spell or use a spell checker, I very nearly needed an interpreter to read your post.

    Top Teams So Far?

Mickey Dyer and whoever else is to come might improve, but I can't see much from the rest, unless it turns out that Hugh has been at the wrong track all along. Other teams have signed riders who you KNOW are on the up, rather than riders who you HOPE are.

    Top Teams So Far?

Sorry, that's a bottom end club......unless they get another good reserve (Dyer will be the only improver).
