  1. It's a hell of a way to preface a jolly announcement.
  2. You may find that innovative is just a fancy word for 'nicely coloured in'
  3. Is this what you mean? https://www.dropbox.com/s/wpkamt1vj9vuazq/British%20Final.pdf?m
  4. Here's one you can fill out on your PC if you have MS Excel. It'll do for ELRC/PLRC as well when they come around. https://www.dropbox....sh Final.xlsx?m The two reserves have been promoted to cover for the missing Stead and Hall, no notification of who the new reserves will be so you'll need to add them.
  5. They show a gate-related statistic that after tonights match read 3-0-2-10 from gate 4 to 1. It's not gate wins, is it first to 30 metres or something? I need to learn Polish...
  6. That's the old National League Pairs formula.

    Official Results

I'm so entrenched in the past I hadn't seen this resource before. That reconciliation meeting must be a real bunfight, I've seen stattos killed in fights over disputed N's and TS's

    Did A Beatle Ride Speedway?

The Beatles released a red, a blue, a white and a yellow (submarine) album
  9. From the above... More "expansive" is a member of the representative of the sponsor GKSŻ and SEC - of Nice - Adam Krużyński . - Żużel jest jeden. - Slag is one. Nie można wprowadzać podziałów w sposób, jaki wybrali Brytyjczycy. You can not make divisions in how they have chosen the British. Jest to zbyt małe środowisko, w którym wszyscy musimy się nawzajem szanować, a nie zwalczać. It's too small an environment in which we all have to respect each other and not fight. Takimi sposobami możemy jedynie doprowadzić do całkowitego upadku żużla - wyjaśnił Krużyński. Such methods can only lead to the total collapse of the slag - Krużyński said. It's official. Speedway is slag. And it's on Google so it must be true. Just noticed USA added as 7th team on official website, just Hancock listed so far.

    Mildenhall V Glasgow 1986 Nl

I've just completed a detailed look at Glasgows' 1986 season so you're in luck! Cooper rode in Heat 10 replacing McKinna, Powell rode in Heat 11 replacing Irving. Here's the full racecard taken from my own marked programme: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mfdeblp73dr78d4/41.pdf?m

    It's listed on here http://livemecz.com/index.php
  13. There's an Excel racecard for tonight's match here https://www.dropbox....il 2013).xlsx?m Best viewed 'full screen' on Excel 'view' options. Looking forward to this one and on the subject of guests think on this - in my first 8 seasons of watching NL racing in the 80's I saw 5 guest riders, and not one for an injured rider. How times have changed...
  14. Anyone fancy trying these out? Excel workbooks for todays fare, one to complete on your PC and one for printing out if you prefer. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nvqnqf4sbz9750z/avrR1qWMGQ?m Blank templates are also in the folder. Please note this is a one-off, I've no plans to upload meeting-ready sheets every week. Use the Sportowefakty links kindly provided by other posters for line-ups etc, or just take them from the broadcast if you're a fast typer
  15. I thought I'd give the programme a couple of meetings to settle in before passing any comment. The Inside Track feature is as good an idea as any for filler between heats or stoppages. Does Chris pick out the subjects to analyse himself, or is he directed? Just curious. The Round The Tracks is a welcome addition, and should come into it's own towards the business end of the season. Co-ordinating the updates with the beginning of live races looks pretty slick, I'd be keeping that in. Not so much an addition as an improvement, but credit where it's due to Nigel and Kelvin who have undoubtedly worked on their co-commentating roles over the winter. Far less talking over each other, and a tad more constraint during the 'exciting' moments is making for a better, dare I say more professional, production. Chris Louis looks a bit more confident in front of the camera considering he is practically guaranteed to be hung out to dry by non-compliant technology one evening (or is his slot delayed to cover this?). Sam and Charlie - ach, if they're reliable, presentable and turn up sober when they're meant to that's half the battle in showbiz and if anyone fancies their chances of doing better I'm sure Sky would love to hear from you.
  16. Call me fickle but is the main point of a pairs meeting not that teams compete as a 'pair'? Is this merely the Ice Speedway WTC on shale, or a glimpse into the future of the conventional WTC?

    Scottish Open Oldest In World?

To be fair to Edinburgh they have always tried to put their best foot forward when it comes to the Open. I'm not sure you'd get a lot of mileage out of billing it as Britain's Oldest/Longest Running speedway event but it certainly warrants a mention I'd say. This year will be it's 85th birthday, there's a nice round number to stick on the publicity...

    Exeter 2nd Halfers 1985

Thanks for that. Yes it was an added heat, I've got a note of it on a seperate slip of paper. Thanks again.

    Exeter 2nd Halfers 1985

In the 2nd half of Exeter v Glasgow 1/7/85, I've got a rider by the name of Marvyn Cross. I can't find any reference to him for the 85 season, and I'm wondering if it was in fact Matthew Cross who was part of the Swindon junior set-up. Can anyone enlighten me?
  21. Yeh I know that now...ignore me I'm old...
  22. It came as news to me and knackered my sheet a bit into the bargain. Another wee change I spotted was that a zero points return now ranks higher than a disqualification in rider ties. Which I take to mean if rider A scored 3 2 1 1 R and Rider B scored 3 2 1 1 X, Rider A would rank higher. Last season they would have been deemed as equal and gone to head-to-head. I think the change to 3-2-1-0 is for the better,
  23. Can anyone tell me if the Consolation Final for 3rd/4th place is still part of the programme? It isn't listed in 2012's live updates but I can't find any reason for it not being run - weather/curfew maybe?

    Mcs - Speedway Card Game

Completely ludicrous notion! Monopoly is all about one person building an empire and stripping everyone else of their cash. What's that got to do with speedway? Building houses and hotels on tracks is pretty realistic I grant you...
  25. Can anyone confirm the following from the Speedway FAQ website is true: "The actual gate sequence used during the match is determined by the team captain winning the toss of a coin prior to the start." So same gate column all the way through as opposed to UK with our choice for first or last heat?
