    100℅....

It must be a huge shock to the system to get binned from a UK team..

The riders will know that "talent" is in short supply, in both leagues, so many would think they are "bomb proof"..

The reality of course is that even if you get binned by one club, invariably another will want your services, given that lack of a talent pool due to running 7 man teams..

Been happily living in stropshire ,his 2 girls are at school here, one of them famous for doing a question and answering video with dad.BUT as you said he is going to be snapped up by another club and putting two and two together i get a feeling Birmingham(sam ermolenko) will come calling.

although they lost yesterday was voted sponsors man of the match yesterday even though they messed up in heat 15 ,but rode really well.dont forget last August he was in a big crash that left him in a neck brace for quite some time.

The difference this time is that it was a reserve rider who returned the non-negative result.

Last year (and the year before, when Ben Barker was snagged) it was riders in their team proper who had their licences temporarily suspended (rightly and properly, rules is rules) on the night, in which case the programmed races could be covered by the team's reserves.    Eliminating the problem of a three-rider race, which seems to be the main factor in getting people's knickers twisted.

So, if it happens again -- and it will, sure as God made little apples -- if it's a rider in the team's 1-5, no problem, no 3-man races.    If it's a reserve, Heat 2 has to go with three riders -- hardly "cheating the public" and certainly a fair price to pay to keep the sport free of banned substances, no?

OK you just dont get it. Its gonna happen to you what with tech advances,so you turn up at a race meeting and find out 2 riders this time are banned from the meeting, and the team is using R/R. yes i KNOW its the worst case scenario, but i want you to understand not only the meeting will be a shambles, fans will not be happy, and they are the ones paying for it.If you are bringing in tests BEFORE the meeting there has to be a plan B for the fans.

  4. The bottom line is,the tests at the start of the meeting are great and im sure everyone welcomes randam testing, there a few posters on here that get what im trying to say.PRE MATCH testing is quite new,and we are going to have the same problems again when the next rider fails a test. All im trying to explain and maybe not too well,is that this is a new practice, and sooner or later its going to happen again.100% punish the rider,BUT NOT THE FANS.I havnt got the answer but the people who are carrrying out the tests, must have thought this through and come up with a solution surely.

    ie GREAT TESTING

RIDER OR RIDERS FOUND GUILTY AND BANNED TO RIDE ON THE NIGHT

PLAN B PUT INTO OPERATION FOR THE TEAM WITH BANNED RIDER OR RIDERS SO THE MEETING CAN TAKE PLACE WITH 4 RIDER RACES.THAT PLAN B AT THE MOMENT IS ...........................?!!!!!!!

Surely as a neutral it was better to see Pijper cover 3 of the 4 rides than a lesser rider cover all 4

I get what you are saying of course i do,but when its a team sport fans want to  see 4 riders in EVERY heat.As i said before i pick my matches if i think the teams are equally matched i might get on the road a drive miles to watch, this is not about Lee Complin its about watching team racing .If it was a superstar rider that wasnt allowed to race then what,or a team were already using R/R,then what.Luckily this match was still tight but even that i love to come to places like Berwick, its making me think im under valued as a fan.The testing is great ,dont get me wrong but im just talking from a fans point of view.

  6. Rules have to be changed, whatever Complin did or didnt do you cant then expect fans to rock up,specially as if your a neutral fan like me and goes everywhere whenever i can to choose a meeting that should have  a full squad of riders to then get there and see some rider being not allowed to race, there has to be something in place where a junior or someone takes his place.Fans are the ones at the end of the day  where it effects them more then anyone else.

It is the sad case that Mr O is holding all the aces, As he has in previous cases (Milton Keynes, Reading, & Torquay among others) Whilst supporters have passion & desire to see their beloved club & sport continue at the venue adopted by GI with Osbourne at the helm they have never had the finances to oppose him or the local councils that are required to provide land for housing projects as our country is so over populated & growing year on year.

SO OSBOURNE had a hand in MKS closure as well!!!,what doent this man get up to.seems its working though looking at his house and plot of land in Bristol may he will let speedway be given the go ahead at his gaff, there is plenty of land and he is the only home owner on site its that big.Lets crack on and do this!!!

  8. SO can someone run me through this photo taken mid october 2023 at a greyhound meeting. I take it the new build is supposed to be the new stadium stand but what if the cagey people behind the build turn the tables and turn them into apartments?!!! Really hope im wide of the mark but just reading through these pages it seems like Osbourne and co could do anything!!!

I know guest's & rider replacement are at times annoying within the British leagues. But we cannot be compared to other nations league system where they opperate a squad of upto 20 riders but can only track 7 just the same as our programme.

In both cases if a rider is injured or unable to start then of course a full 7 rider team must be arranged. With a squad this is done as in football by rotation of the squad members. Our system means each team has a nominated 7 rider team & should one be missing we track a full team using guests or R/R. At the end of the day it amounts to the same thing two teams of seven racing against each other.

Weather you love or hate our system it's better to see two full sides of seven than a five man team

......But you kinda answered your own question, you could fill R/R with guests back in the day when speedway operated on a 7 day a week  time scale, yes i can understand it then, but when teams are forced to operate on a same racenight you are always going to get R/R because lack of riders to fill the gaps with quality replacements everyone wants. Its just a laugh at the moment when the same rider guests for every team possible because he is in a win win situation, and at the moment Scott Nicholls is making the most of this stupid situation that he can ride if the points allowed to race for anyone that wants him.Like i said good and fair flay to the rider concerned, buts it makes a mockery of the sport that knowone can take seriously.

  10. Its great to see so many new sponsores coming on board for the coming season,a lot of hard work must of gone in to getting them, but my only concern is what is it all this leading too and where is the money going? Is there an end product or do clubs just get as in previous years a cut of the money for doing sod all to promote speddway.

My only experience of BSN is the CLRC which I found expensive at £14.99, but I did enjoy the coverage.

I’m not sure who the gentleman was who joined him on commentary, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear/see Adam Roynon. I’m certain I watched a young Adam be shepherded around Ashfield by Shane Parker in a fine display of team riding around 18 years ago.

Its also amazing a good few years ago i watched a great final race at Arena Essex,i think it was the British under 21 championship final between Adam and  a certain mr Woffinden who won the race but i always felt Adam was the quicker rider in the final and was unlucky not to win.Its amazing how their paths have moved on,with Adam really being hampered by a string on injuries, but in that final at Arena there was nothing between them.

Thought i was going mad,100% agree with you all 4 back ,but instead the poor rider in yellow got  squeezed, injured, and bike to fix!!,speedway can be cruel at times.

    Kurtz knew the score there

EXACTLY watching live going down the straight Brady knew what he was doing by not giving an inch and forcing the refs hand ,i could see it coming a mile off,but he did hit the bouncy fence quite hard !!! just to make sure Tobias was thrown out.Classic Brady and  in my opinion won the meeting for the aces with a hard block move on Holder, maybe Holder should have seen it coming as with Tobias who should have been more aware at where Brady was on the track.

    Ermobollox at it's finest

He really was in fine form tonight talking total rubbish, first talking a riders helmet cover in the first race which proved totally wrong, and then he had a segment all to himself trying to work the graphics and talk at the same time:osomethig about the Belle vue reserve crossing the white exiting the second bend, really.why Eurosport trust him to do anything just baffles me.But as i have said many times he served the sport well and was a quality rider, and clever too on track ,so it baffles me how bad he is on the mic.

Spot on…..perfect summation of his whole career tonight!!

Yep agree, but Wolves track grading after he spent soooooooo much time working /gardening on his gate position clearly got into his head. The tapes were down as well when Zagar was working on his start position,so SOMEONE CLEARLY TOLD THE REF TO RELEACE THEM IN ORDER TO DO TRACK WORK!!WHO?!!!
