    Poole 2024

Think if we had a choice between Brennan and Rew I would choose Brennan for a couple of reasons. First of all he is British, so Championship comes before Sweden/Denmark/Poland. And we also get 2.5% average reduction which puts the jigsaw together. Brennan seems to have been around for a while now but he is still young and improving. Just needs to get more consistent. Rew certainly has great potential but his eyes seem more set on Poland than U.K. and that’s where his 100% will be given imo. Especially as he has been named as the U21 rider for extraleague club.

    Poole 2024

Taken from Darcy Ward interview in Speedway Star 2 years ago. One name to look out for (and learn how to spell) is Tate Zischke who has just turned 16 and shows a great deal of promise. The Poole promotion has already been tipped off about his potential and if all things continue to go to plan, he could be sighted there in 2022 or at the latest 2023. (Injury put paid to that) A farmer’s son from the village of Grandchester, west of Brisbane, Zischke is sponsored by Ivor Harm, who looked after Darcy from his junior days and remains heavily involved, especially with emerging talent. ‘He just reminds me of me at the same age,” says Darcy. Watch this space….

    Poole 2024

Rock solid as usual. The only weakness is at reserve, where we have two youngsters who could find the going very tough at first. But Sam Hagon has shown a liking for the Poole track and has done ok here. Max is an unknown quantity at the moment but reports show a young lad with trackcraft and one that could well be going places. Lawson will be solid as usual, the Cooks will continue to improve. Brennan is hot and cold but does know the fastest way around Poole and just needs to become more consistent. That could well happen under Middlo. As for Tate Zischke (god knows how you pronounce that!) he will need time to adjust and get used to British tracks, so expect hot and very cold meetings. Of course this lineup is nothing official and the team could be completely different. Guess we will have to wait and see.

    Poole 2024

New rider must come in on an assessed 4 rather than a 5 then.

    Poole 2024

If rumours are true, 2.56 and 2.0

    Poole 2024

No. A 5 pointer capable of hitting 7.

    Poole 2024

Brennan will fit with a new exciting 5 pointer in the last place.

    Poole 2024

Richard Lawson. 8.48 Ben Cook. 7.39 Zach Cook. 6.22 New rider. 5.0 Max Perry. 2.0 Sam Hagon. 2.56 =31.65 Leaving 6.35 for final rider.

    Poole 2024

if Hagon and Perry were the reserves, we would be quite vulnerable. No doubt both are talents but always good to have one reserve who could bang in the points if called upon. The downside of such a ridiculous points limit.

    Jubilee final!!!!!

Judging by the rain we have had today and right now there was no way the meeting could have been re-arranged for tomorrow afternoon.

    Poole 2024

Ridiculous over 5 minutes. Both lots of fans were chanting F VAR! The linesman got it spot on, then VAR drew lines skew whiff to make it look like Rodriguez was onside!

    Poole 2024

So what’s the conversion between the leagues? I was with Gary May this afternoon at the footy but we didn’t talk about speedway at all. Should have asked him but we were both enjoying Cherries first win.

    Poole 2024

Lawson 8.70 -2.5% 8.48 Ben Cook. 7.39 Zach Cook. 6.22 Reserve 1. 2.0 Reserve 2. 2.56 Rew. 6.0. (Not sure this is correct as not sure conversion from Premier to Championship.) =32.65 means we have 5.35 for last rider. Rowe is 5.8 so he is ruled out. And “if” Rew is 6, it would rule out Kyle Newman who after the 2.5 deduction is 5.5. Anyone know the conversion formula from Prem to Championship?

    Poole 2024

    I don’t care.

    Poole 2024

Of course we aren’t. And Poole retain the services of both Cooks. Believe 5 have now been signed and two second string berths to go. I don’t know who they are but one Danny Ford said is an opportunity not to pass over. Must be on a lower average than Anders Rowe. Rew? 4 average in the PL. Possibly 6 in the Championship? If it’s down to fractions of a point, then it’s not too difficult to work out who would fit the last spot and who would not.

    Workington 2024

Craig Cook would make an ideal number one for Workington. He is local, a solid rider, certainly at Championship level, and would certainly prefer the Workington track to the tight turns of Edinburgh. Good luck to him if he chooses to continue his career in the sport.

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

So let’s hear Glasgow fans thoughts. Paulco has given his opinion. Let’s hear how this 1-7 are going to emulate 23.

    Poole 2024

Well I do normally get to be aware of signings soon after they happen. But in confidence means that I certainly wouldn’t post what I hear/know on this forum. If I did, I certainly wouldn’t be told anything. And I would assume the same goes for others on here from other clubs.

    Poole 2024

Why would I know whether Poole are moving up or not? I am not personal friends with Danny Ford. And even if I did know (which I don’t) anything told to me in confidence would remain that way until officially released.

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

It’s my opinion. There’s a saying, “there’s non so blind as those that will not see.” Understanding cannot be forced on someone who chooses to be ignorant. If you honestly believe that 1-7 will “do an Ipswich” then good luck to you. If Poole had announced that 1-7 I would be angry and gutted and call it out for what it is. You don’t honestly, deep down, believe that is a decent side, do you?
  21. Steve Shovlar

    Poole 2024

Would love it but don’t think there’s enough variety of teams and if that was the case why would we have let Anders Rowe go as he would be ideal as a RS. Not sure that rumour has any legs.
  22. Steve Shovlar

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

You tell yourself that. Most others can see that 1-7 for what it is. If Poole announced that lineup there would be uproar and complete ridicule. Its incredulous Glasgow seem to be making no effort to retain in 24.

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

Just have to have business acumen. Facenna is a successful businessman and successful businessmen don’t throw good money after bad. Like any businessman he will cut his cloth to the relative income of the club. Now he has won his title it’s clear that is happening, if the muted team is the actual team. Harris and Worrall are British based and affordable. Flint, Starke won’t be on big wages. Complin, Pearson and Pijper will be on the usual rates for reserves. No paying for flights as all UK based. No big signing on fees, no paying for hotels/accomodation. Pretty much a shoestring side, and will be pretty difficult to find one put together that will be as cheap to finance. This isn’t a dig at Glasgow at all. Some other teams might also be this weak.
  24. Steve Shovlar

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

It’s probably down to finances. Glasgow 2023 cost an absolute fortune and with not very large crowds probably cost Faccena a small fortune. Bringing in Tarasenko would have cost an arm and a leg and perhaps now Faccena has won a title he is going to cut his cloth to fit the clubs income. That 2024 team would cost way less than 2023.

    Glasgow Tigers 2024

Complin could do himself a massive favour this winter by going in a keto diet. He would shift the weight no problem, if he wanted to. Be a far better rider next year by doing so.
