  1. For me, living in North London it would have meant a 180 mile drive (each way), hotel stay, entrance ticket, meal, drinks etc. so £14.99 was very good value plus the ability to watch the team I had lost touch with. I will attend the British Final; SON and hopefully a couple of bank holiday meetings (day trip) because you cannot replicate actually being their.
  2. As a native of the Aces now living in north London £14.99 for live coverage of the meeting, produced very well and excellent stream I thought it very good value. Hopefully the club get a cut of the sales income so it’s a win for the club and a definite win for me. Great racing , great meeting.
  3. Don’t think there is any picking of opponents in the play offs this year, one plays four and two plays three. Holder is no longer a member of the team, Tai replaced him and the rule from last year allowing replacements for long term injuries to riders has been dropped following the number of complaints after Aces signed Robert.. not sure what Tigers can do.

    Sheffield Tigers 2023

In two of their recent matches Holder only completed two of his rides before being substituted by a team member. Didn’t contribute much to the scoring. Just rides mid track, not a good signing.
  5. Cheers, Thanks Phil.
  6. Always on the lookout for good restaurants, sounds like the windmill would be good choice when I am up for the Aces so can you confirm the address please.8
  7. Mark did mention that in the Craven suite afterwards. His heart was in his mouth being Manager of the Australian team who have an international match against Poland this week and both of them are in his team. Didn’t get much sympathy from the assembled fans.
  8. First visit this season, home by 8.00, (London), great day. Sitting in the Grandstand watching Dan, Brady, Max and the others blasting past is such a thrill, don’t take it for granted.

It is a tweet from Paul Burbidge which links an article from expressandstar.com
  10. Looks like rain all day in both places.
  11. The bars under the grandstand is open but I think you need a hospitality lanyard to enter the Peter Craven suite. It is open at the end of the meeting.
  12. Hang on Phil, last night Kelv kept telling us how similar both our tracks are, big, fast and lots of racing lines. It looked awful to me. Very bumpy and lots of ruts.
  13. Well, I think Chris Louis would be in a position do that wouldn’t he?
  14. So, for completeness, could you show the long-term injury rule please. The rule you have shown only covers riders returning from injury and am interested to find which rule it would have been for BV to appeal against.
  15. It’s been confirmed on the speedwaygb website that we have signed Lambert and he rides tonight. Wow
  16. So, if this turns out to be accurate can someone enlighten me that when Klindt’s has been listed as riding, I assume he has been asked and his personal terms agreed that does form a contract of sorts so won’t we be in breach of the contract by now dropping him for someone else.
  17. The government have requested that sporting events should not go ahead on the day of the funeral but there is no requirement for sporting events on the weekend before to be called off.
  18. Qualifying tomorrow 12:00 on Discovery App

    British final

I have booked the Diamond Lodge but I cannot book a train ticket from Euston to Piccadilly on the 18th. No tickets are on sale so probably just as well.

    British final

Well, Rob, if it is then they need to tell us. Like now.
  22. Watched a lot of Swedish meetings this summer and they go to extraordinary lengths to make sure the meeting goes ahead. Watched them virtually replace the whole track with new shale so it could go ahead. What do we do, look at the forecast the day before and decide there and then or if it looks like they may have to put some work in then they think that’s too much trouble so cancel is the easy option. Don’t deserve our support.
  23. Met Office show rain till 3pm then dry thereafter. Fingers crossed.
