    Ipswich 2014

Berge looked wild when he rode after meetings at Foxhall last year, but you never can tell what a rider might be like once they get into proper racing.

    British Final 2014

Very few Start Marshalls have any influence or impact - most just stand and wave their arms and walk away. There should be some recognised best practice which can be shared so there is consistency and riders know to expect that they will be directed.
  3. Leicester once rode with 6 guests, back in the 1970s - I think Doug Underwood was the only regular Lion to appear.
  4. Suitable cover to enable a meeting to continue with a rider going to hospital should be mandatory. There will always be extremes, but for a single incident there shouldn't be any excuse.
  5. Heat 5 will do for the Heeps & Vissing 5-1
  6. I just had a bizarre attack of LGFC-MJJFC-itis Is that James' grandson?
  7. Heeps & Vissing to get a 5-1 in heat one ...

So it's ok to praise him for the successes, but not to criticise for the obvious failures?
  9. Excellent arguments and very similar to those I put forward when the Artificial Points Joker was first introduced. The new race format actually lends itself to the reintroduction of Tactical Subs, because you could introduce regs to make any changes on a roughly like-for-like basis.
  10. The regs actually state the max distance the wheel should be from the tapes. How about simply painting a second line behind the first at a specified distance where the front wheel would touch the ground, and then the ref can see clearly if someone moves.

    Sheffield 2014

No such thing as "can't fit him in due to averages" ... it's entirely down to how the promotion chooses to build the team.
  12. Witches off nights are for racing fellow Thursday night tracks. They are very limited on the number of fixtures and when they can race because of the rules governing use of the stadium. Crying about Aspgren's absence is pointless considering the abject performance of the other six. You need to focus in your own team's failings rather than try to deflect somewhere else.
  13. You can't compare those, because the regulations allow a facility for Ipswich, but did not for Somerset - quite simple really ... Also, given that Ipswich ride on Thursdays and Aspgren races in Sweden on Thursdays, there can't have been many options - with Morris potentially missing because of his place at Swindon.
  14. And then bring it down even further!
  15. Win as a team, lose as a team - another night a different result - any team in any match can point at reasons why this or that didn't happen.
