  1. Clutching at straws to figure this one out but maybe trying to shake Masters out of being able to hide himself in the 3/4 zone? Could have moved him to 2 but would that have just kept that going?

Good point it's been very unfortunate for him to not have that level of competition yet when he badly needs it. Can't really be learning much at NDL level any more

Yes it's hard on Kemp, but if he can't cut the mustard after another month, his place must be looked at. Will be interesting to see how the new Finn at Workington performs

    Premiership Media Day

The swearing isn't anywhere near as bad as the hypocrisy. Must be a case of too many bashes to the head bringing out the true person! He rides like a 90 year-old granny these days and is way too matey with Bartosz Smarzlik.

I'd also question the need to include the word "female". Would Stewart Dickson be called "male promoter"? Dodgy

    Leicester Lions 2024

I came across Neil Machin once just outside the gate, working hard with a sweeping brush to clear a giant puddle. But the water just ran back again. Probably needs some drainage work to resolve properly, which would be down to the landlord Mr Hemsley to carry out! However, during his days as promoter, DH would probably have commandeered several stewards (and maybe a couple of riders!) to get out there with brooms!
  7. Taller riders seem more susceptible to shoulder and neck injuries, and to then struggle if trying to carry on riding. Unless it's someone of exceptionally high ability, like Jason Doyle, if I were a promoter I'd pack my team with rubber ball types like Chris Harris

    Brummies 2024...

I'd have wanted double that to work for him

    Leicester Lion Cubs 2024

Shocked that Max Perry has been left out. Too many riders in the NDL who have reached their limit, so to waive an obvious improver seems bonkers
  10. Absolutely! Super-clever game plan being followed by Chapman here but nothing usual. Allow an asset (which isn't worth a huge amount anyway and frankly not bothered about either) to dwindle in value by not opposing other parties or circumstances which are bringing about that diminution. The asset then becomes basically dormant, all the while knowing there is another party which desires the asset AND that is prepared to put in the graft required to protect and enhance the asset's value, whilst at the same time not genuinely being interested in selling at its current market value. Then put out public statements of support for the other party's actions! Chapeau, Monsieur Chappo, Chapeau!
  11. I guess it also depends on how the Consortium members regard the statement!
  12. I think it comes under the heading of "intellectual property" or something similar and possibly includes the name "Peterborough Speedway" and the right to use it.
  13. But who does that article make it appear to be the one turning the screw. A masterstroke by the King of smoke and mirrors, one that has blindsided the consortium?
  14. For the statement to have credibility, shouldn't it be backed up by the consortium members each becoming a director of Peterborough Speedway Ltd (or whatever the company is called) and perhaps also become shareholders, even if their shareholdings are initially only very small?

    Brummies 2024...

Seems like each season there's one club in particular that struggles to recruit suitable riders and I still have unpleasant memories of Leicester in the mid 1970's and during the ill-fated (and ill-advised) seasons in the Elite league under the Hemsley regime. Really hope this turns out not to be the case for the Brummies 2024 and you get some good breaks

    Brummies 2024...

Maybe you're being a bit too harsh on him. Probably his Poland club were exercising a lot of control, and stepping into a new situation partway through a season isn't ideal. If he's available from the start and without strings being attached and pulled he'd be a cracking signing

    Brummies 2024...

The suspicion I'm having, is of the BSPL allowing Birmingham into the PL only as an "extra" and with a high risk of the club not being able to complete the season taken fully into account. It was therefore essential to have a solid core of 6 clubs, all of them with stability and a good chance of not just completing the 2024 season, but 2025 as well. If the Brummies do complete season 2024 then it will be a "bonus" - if they can return for 2025 that will be beyond a bonus! So I very much doubt there will be any collective "bailing out" done by the other 6/BSPL if things go wrong at any stage. Survival of the 6 will be uppermost. There were two lame ducks in the 2023 league and the management committee couldnt allow that possibility to repeat in 2024. The performance of Kings Lynn will be of more importance to them, than that of Birmingham. Can just keep fingers crossed it works out ok for Brummies. But I doubt if Ermolenko will be effective or even competent - maybe young Adams will be.

It's being extended over the weekend. Still discussing how to conclude the Jubilee Cup, which was first agenda item.

With the rumoured struggle to produce a 6-team top UK league, is a UK/Denmark league a possibility? Would mean Wednesdays being added to Mon & Thur race nights

    Richie Worrall statement

When someone changes employer as often as Richie Worrall does, it's often an indication of problems. I know that speedway has built-in lack of permanence and all that but in his case I wonder if there's more to it?

Ah, that makes sense based on past performance! Hope it gets resolved
