I'd be too embarrassed and too considerate of others to encourage anybody new to try it.
  2. I'd say you are bang on the money there. Have a look at BP and Slater Street on google earth. I think he maybe wanted to create a speedway track that is different to anything else, as a monument to himself. That seems to have been thoroughly achieved
  3. I decided to have a look at things on bet365. Well, my decision not to commit any of my time and money so far this year was vindicated. In future I will probably also avoid the waste of time of watching on bet365, Leicester home matches anyway - but of course I appreciate its also quite possible to have a duff match almost anywhere now and then. And if the match score had been close before the start of heat 15 last night, there would have been eulogies galore about what an exciting match it was etc etc. because that heat did actually give us a decent race and showed that entertainment is not all about passing. Unfortunately it was only a single match point at stake in this instance.
  4. No, he is unique I am sure. Just tends to get his wires a bit crossed!
  5. Leave him alone you cyber bully. Weatherwatcher might have occasional problems with his take on things, but he's not doing anybody any harm!!

Tom seemed to be ok getting second and third places, but possibly wasn't winning often enough in heats 2 and 9. Bates could well improve matters a bit in this respect, but also he could be more prone to finishing last, or not finishing at all. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose. I've read Hougaard's statement and it's disappointing. The number 5 team position doesn't appear to have as much responsibility in terms of being the more "senior partner" in races compared with No.1 and No.3, and in terms of opposition riders faced. And I'm not sure about publicly admitting you're lacking confidence - that could only give more confidence to your opponents?? It shows how vital mental toughness and resilience is to becoming and staying a top dog. Thankfully Jason Doyle seems to have these qualities, hopefully others in the team also.

Getting a good guest at 6 or 7 is difficult. Perry is quite low down the national list, and he isn't allowed to be replaced by anyone above him. Choosing Max Clegg at 7 in the draft was ok as a punt, but it places more onus on no.6 and so far that's where the weakness has been with the exception of BV at home. Granted, Tom Perry has a few years experience but it's been a bit stop/start in terms of his progress and I was surprised Leicester didn't choose differently in the draft at that position. I could be wrong, but seem to recall Stevie Worrall hadn't been picked when Leicester's turn came around and was surprised he wasn't picked. But maybe there were other reasons for that.

The Richard Sweetman saga in 2011 is still fairly fresh in the minds of many, I think.

Seems strange on the face of it not to have re-declared sooner

The thing is, flagrag, you have just stated, quite succinctly and in an informative way, exactly what the management of Leicester could and should have said. I can fully understand the club needing to keep quoting the "injured" line with Hougaard, but to now imply his absence is still due to injury is just plain misleading. Presumably their approach taken with all matters is to be economical with the truth, and if that's their policy well so be it but it kind of confirms what many folk have thought for a long time. I take it that you're not acting in any "official" capacity but have close access to the actual facts. So I'd take care, if i were you!!!

It must be another Patrick Hougaard, because Leicester's management would never lie, would they It was all a total load of bullocks, anyway. So why doesn't the official website say that, instead of saying that he is injured ? Credibility of Leicester management = 0

Hougaard? Thought he had quit the UK (well, according to some "wise" posters on here, anyway)

Wasn't there also the "job-share" with Branford thing, which he didn't like the idea of (who could blame him), or was that a convenient smoke-screen to cover the real reason as per you have stated?

So it wasn't really Alex Edberg at Rye House last year, it was Marc Owen
  16. Hougaard due to make comeback in Poland today. So if successful that would mean he is officially expected to line up for Leicester again, beginning at Wolves on Monday. But the unofficial word is that he's quit the UK. If he doesn't ride for Leicester, what will happen? Leicester using a guest to cover a rider witholding his services? Which presumably only lasts short term. Only the PL/NL can work on weekend days. You also have the requirement of Polish teams for riders to attend Saturday practice over there. It's a non-runner.

Yes, that would be the usual next move. But sadly, old chum, that's been tried and to cut a very, very long story short, it hasn't changed things. Those who have tried are mostly now spending their time and energies on other things, which are hopefully more rewarding and satisfying than butting their heads against a wall. It looks as if the only remaining hope is that Glyn Taylor can perform a miracle. Apparently he's currently out in Ukraine trying to sort out a peace deal with Russia, then he's due in the middle east to solve the Israel/Palestine issue, but should be back at Beaumont Park by Sunday.
  18. FIM requirement from 2015, just announced. Stand by for the Appeals and benefit meetings

I noticed somewhere in the documents, a reason given for not moving ahead on original plans for the other sports, (as well as the general economic climate) was that the Council supposedly "implied" these were no longer priority needs and therefore a funding grant bid was not made to Sport England. That sounds a very tenuous reason! It also looks as if this time, a bid has been made using the services of a relevant professional bid-writing company. The new application also states that a company has given firm indication of commitment to being involved in the football pitches project, and the new planning permission reduces many previous requirements for drainage work. So overall it requires a revised development plan to be agreed with the council within a set time scale, and then likewise its implementation. Sounds like the council is being more than fair, but probably they've had no choice. Maybe they wont be as lenient again if things start to slip! Last but not least, no badgers should be harmed, and if any Great Crested Newts are discovered in the area when work is being done, everything has to stop. I can already imagine DH digging a pond in his back garden and searching on Amazon for a copy of "How to breed Great Crested Newts" ! Is Hougaard really going to quit the UK?
  20. Reading DH's Mercury article, it almost sounds like Leicester had actually signed Bomber!! Just a tad misleading, a bit like the comment about Darcy Ward going to like the long straights of Beaumont Park. Yeah, right.

Delayed .....in that case was it more of a short-term cover (up until Polish season/Jason arrival)

Yep, saw him myself, he took the wrong lane on the motorway, probably now heading to Birmingham

New Riders Available To The El?

Are you acting as their agent? Desperate to claw back that money you're going to lose after betting on Leicester?
