Leicester V Poole Sat 3/6/17
The Observer replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I agree about Klindt, but not being exactly on top of the average rulings, when will he move up into the main body of the team? Klindt's current average is 2nd only to Nilsson had he still been a Lion. It's such a massive advantage. -
Leicester - Swindon 1.4.17
The Observer replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hearing that some were speculating Doyley was deliberately riding slower in order to lower his average. Whilst I can understand the reasoning, if true obviously, it would be thoroughly cheating the loyal paying supporter from seeing one of the very best riders in the world compete to his absolute maximum. I sincerely hope it's not true and it simply can be put down to an off night for Jason. Great to hear the numbers were up, hopefully this will be somewhat of a resurgence for the Leicester Club as they've had a tough couple of years. -
Totally agree. Lakeside's track's more of a specialist track than Leicester's and in my opinion makes for even worse viewing. Granted the very best riders quickly work it out and you get a race but for the second string & reserves it's tough going & watching.

2017 Potential Signings
The Observer replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Lions won't remain in the Elite League next season. They continue to advocate holding meetings on a Saturday is "best" for them, which it may well be. But as stated many times before, this severely limits the choice of top flight riders. Leicester will be replaced by Glasgow, a club with ambition and more importantly money to spend. -
Battle Of The Basement Sides Wolves V Favourites Leicester 17th August
The Observer replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Quite incredible watching how the 3-Poles struggle around Monmore. Swiderski showed his talent in his last 2-heats but the other two were nowhere to be seen. Garrity was as entertaining as ever, even tho' clearly not 100% fit. Good job for once Norrie had 3-track specialists available otherwise it could have been an absolute rout. -
Leicester Lions Vs Kings Lynn Stars - 15 August
The Observer replied to scottrocks's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A great night of competitive speedway and yet much of the thread is taken up by whether a dog should be taken to meetings or not. Simple, if the promoter allows it, the dog remains calm (welfare of the dog paramount) and he/she poses no danger to the public then why the hell not. Kids running around the track perimeter without any parental guidance is a bigger issue for me. Back to the team. The injured cannot come back too soon, Masters, Auty & Lambert when fully fit would have been a match for anyone. The Lions as we all know have been dogged (no pun intended) all season with injuries, guests have filled in with varying degrees of success. What they need is a strong No.5 to backup Doyley who can ride Leicester but more importantly ride the away tracks. The Lions simply are too weak away from home. -
I believe the normal start Marshall had either work commitments or could have been standing in for the clerk of the course as I remember. He certainly wasn't hiding away somewhere, not his style.

Apparently Leicester never put a call into Simon Stead which is disappointing to say the least.

Leicester V Poole - Wednesday 19:30, 17th September 2014
The Observer replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Regardless of what's allowed and what isn't with regard to guest or r/r for a sacked rider, Lion's morale will be so low I can't see anything other than a comfortable win for The Pirates. -
Leicester 2014 . Elite
The Observer replied to jim the whipper's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This whole sorry saga centres around Mads not making himself available last Monday vs BV when he was riding on the Sunday & Tuesday in Europe. It's poor when the club captain chooses (for whatever reason) not to ride. Above all I feel extremely sorry for the loyal supporters as they deserve better and should be told the truth. Maybe there's a lot more to this, well so be it, but come clean and don't try and bullrubbish the fans. I fear the fallout from this could be huge, as Mads is close to a couple of the other riders. Major shakeup yet again required for 2015. Revolving door is picking up momentum so make sure to buy your raffle tickets. -
Belle Vue V Leicester Monday 8th September 7.30pm
The Observer replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Max Clegg's hit a rich vain of form. All credit to the lad who had zero respect shown him by the management at the start of the season is now out scoring his teammates by some margin. Max for the 2nd meeting running is the only Lion who can hold his head high. -
Have to agree with everyone, the only point I can add is that most teams have suffered at some time or other with this. You'd just like to hope it balances out equally, but it certainly doesn't make it right. An EL re-think is most definitely in order.

I'd just like to give a massive shout-out to Bomber, who'd driven over night from Poland to ride for the Bees in a double-header, amazing energy and a true professional. He must have been well & truly knackered by the end of last night.

Astonishing rider selection in Heat 15, cannot for the life of me understand the logic. Allan gifted the points to the Bees. -

Good home win for the Lions tonight, with all riders making the most out of the slik track conditions. Craig Cook excelled yet again at Beaumont Park. -

Doyle won't be at either of tomorrow's meetings which is a huge loss for the Lions. God knows who's available as replacement? Definitely hands the advantage fairly & squarely to the Bees. -

The Observer replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Regrettably I cannot see this double-header taking place, weather forecast for both Coventry & Leicester is shocking. I like many have been looking forward to these 2-matches with cracking line-ups, but I fear both will be a complete washout. Gutted! -
Leicester V Poole, Saturday 23rd August 2014
The Observer replied to Skidder1's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With yet another makeshift side, really cannot see anything other than a heavy home defeat for the Lions. This has been a real baptism for Leicester in their first season in the EL, hampered now by injuries and fixture congestion. -
Poole Vs Leicester 20/08/2014
The Observer replied to Tom Turner's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hate to be negative, but with so many guests Leicester will do well to improve on their 59 - 34 defeat from their last visit. Leicester have some of the very best supporters, but only the real hardened fans will travel for this meeting. -
Wolves V Leicester (18/8/14)
The Observer replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When is Norrie Allen going to instinctively see a T/R opportunity? Heat 6 been and gone, Mads withdrawn, very weak no. 7 = a very long night. -
Poole Vs Leicester 20/08/2014
The Observer replied to Tom Turner's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Even the Leicester Manager admits they'll be so under strength that they can't realistically expect anything from the meeting. Only being allowed PL 6-pointers is harsh to say the least. -
Leicester V Lakeside 16/8/14
The Observer replied to mrcts's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Max Clegg should take the plaudits tonight with 2 Heat wins. Poor that the management didn't publically acknowledge his achievement however. -
Leicester V Lakeside 16/8/14
The Observer replied to mrcts's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ben Morley got a paid maximum I see last night, with Jacobs guesting for Lakeside tonight that's a hell of a reserve pairing. Leicester's top five are going to have to score heavily. -

Would have preferred to see Joe Jacobs in Lions colours as a guest for Josh, he rode brilliantly last week for Wolves 10+3 I believe. -
Coventry Special Deal For Two Meetings Fri + Mon
The Observer replied to Main Man's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hate to be a cynic, but is it not more about getting fans onto the terraces for the Sky cameras. Sorry!
