Weather the home team covers the cost of all riders !! Who covers the cost of the away support.. fans out of pocket again & we wonder why our beloved sport is on the downward spiral in the UK .. but thats the great British weather tho

Well we will see..

& I can't remember who's already wrote the bullets off ?? It's somewhere on this forum but the teams who normally are written off usually do well

Redcar track staff, including 'our' Johnny Swales, worked extremely hard Friday, Saturday and Sunday to try and get the meeting on for both Stuart and the many fans from here and elsewhere, to try and get this meeting on. All very well criticising from 40 of miles away, but if you had been there and therefore fit to comment you would have seen the multitude of track equipment plus volunteer vans being used to try and squeeze the water out of the track, which had got into the track following the downpour on the Saturday. Whilst it looked goodish to average on the top, apparently anybody that walked on the track said it was soft underneath and definitely unfit to ride on.
Anybody from afar can make stupid and harmful assumptions, but it doesn't give credit for the effort that was put in to try and help Stuart and the fans.
I'm just pleased I got a phone call not to go which saved me a tenna in diesel

George was an ardent speedway fan and done all his courting at Brough Park with his sweetheart and best pal Mary who later become his wife and they attended the speedway together with their children and grandchildren and George would travel to watch many a speedway meeting along with his son Doug and his Grandkids Kyle and Emily.
He especially enjoyed his trips to the more local clubs such as Glasgow; Edinburgh Workington; Berwick and Redcar and would rarely miss watching the Diamonds but would also regularly travel further afield for individuals such as the Premier League (Championship) Riders Final especially when it was held at Sheffield. However during his travels George got to every track in the country following the Newcastle Diamonds. He regularly came to Brough on his motor bike and I will certainly miss my hens eggs that he would bring...
RIP George
Sadly missed John...
Well put John & George was a smashing bloke RIP George

As much as it pains me to say, I'll probably be visiting Redcar a few times this season, with the demise of the Diamonds So I am glad to see such a strong team of exciting riders out on the track. Redcar is actually my closest track anyway, 15 minutes up the road rather than the hour it took to get to Brough...
Yeah I'll be having a few trips down aswell as the odd Sunday to Northside aswell

Personally, however I think Mulford and Edwards will be swapped.
Good looking team that

It's getting harder to get a place in the NDL nowadays so all Owen can do is get as much practice in as he can which does come at a cost ( doing scunny & Redcar amateur meetings etc which becomes expensive) but hopefully the hard work pays off for him in the long run

I know speedway is desperate for investment but you've got to draw a line somewhere.

Could always get someone to front it for them that's a clean person

Did you see the state of the 2022 team & that's not a dig at the riders as they are worth there wage packets After every meeting if they win or loose

Just aswell Newcastle United are doing very good as if Mr Ashley was still in charge could you imagine how depressing it would be with the toon fighting relegation or even getting relegated last season & the diamonds getting the plug pulled midway through the season... But thankfully the Saudis came in !! Just a pity they never had a bit loose change probably a million or 2 & could have sorted a new speedway venue out for us diamonds supporters

Made me remember how many great Danes the Diamonds had over the Years. What would be their strongest Danish 7?
1. Ole Olsen
2. Kenni Larsen
3. Bjarne Pedersen
4. Kenneth Bjerre
5. Nicki Pedersen
6. Rene Bach
7. Jesper OlsenWhat about Mr Newcastle.. dickie juul ? & Kristian Lund jonus raun etc !! We've had some very good Danes at Newcastle speedway & just wish we were still going

1 hour ago, Diamonds85 said:I assume you're on about the MASSIVE van sized craters on the road up to the gate, that runs alongside the mx track?? Not been there since the small track days, but I'm guessing this is still the main road in? Nearly snapped a few axles and blew out a few wheels in these holes in the past, especially when they're filled with water because you forget how deep they are
Ya supposed to take it easy on rural roads

15 hours ago, Halifaxtiger said:When I came up the other week, I walked to the track from the town centre. The walk is too far and too difficult to be comfortable - unlike Derwent Park - and I can't see many trying it but in terms of being remote it is nothing like Buxton or Mildenhall, for example. Eastbourne - which is accessed by a short drive down a narrow unlit road - is similar.
Did the sat nav not pick up the postcode correctly lol

BERWICK v EDINBURGH (BSN Series) SATURDAY, APRIL 22nd
in SGB Championship League Speedway
Posted
Sorry but a rider with Craig's experience should not have them kind of issues... A mean an EX GP & international rider aswell should have his 2nd bike in condition to win races at championship level & that's not a dig at other riders but his stuff should be top quality
