We can go on & on about the way young granty ran it but it's gone now & if there wasn't a rat in the pack in the ( meeting last November that John Courtney spoke very well from the floor along with a good plan in place ) reporting back to our former owner/promoter/former rider.. things would have much more different nowadays but nope it was Robs club & he done it his way & now diamonds are ( not ) forever.. so thank you for your input Mr Rat

Dogs track staff had cut the bottom portion of the fence netting in order to cut the grass that was growing under it. This caused the decision from the stadium owners who then wanted to remove it completely, and made Grant make plans to make a portable fence. This fence was in sections interlocking, and needed to be put up before every speedway meeting. Just another job for the dwindling track staff to do. I am led to believe that Grant obtained the sections from Coventry Speedway.
Also Dave I was told that the greyhound people ( not sure how true tho ) that they wanted the Newcastle track staff to lift the dogs starting gate before a speedway match & then lift it back onto the greyhound track after the speedway sheeting was put away which meant that the sheeters had to do even more work.. & from what I seen towards the end some of the new helpers never had a clue what to do unlike the our band of volunteers/workers

is this grant removing them so if anyone wanting to take over has extra expense Now the company is kaput he won’t receive any money if he sells themThe hasn't been removed it's more like been ripped out & just dumped & not in a tidy way

On Barker it looks like he's been a proper silly BOY from what I was told at Edinburgh last Friday night off a fellow rider .. allegedly

I was down in the Washington galleries center today & was asked by a shop owner if the rumour was true about a sort of consortium that he heard of ( from Hartlepool) were thinking of taking the Newcastle speedway on ?? Has anyone else heard of such a thing

Yip humble pie ain't to bad but I definitely did defend him until I saw a side to him that wasn't what I thought was his true colours & yip I admit I was probably wrong in the long run unlike someone on the forum who never admits there wrong even when they are

I remember him saying he cant see newcastle losing speedway , lier ive lost money ill close it down and shaft everyone what a top bussiness man . robin hood springs to mind
Yeah funny you should mention the monies ( well sort of ) as last September when there was a bit bother ( that I stopped) at the South gosforth club rob told me that along with my boy we were barred & I said well give me my season ticket money back.. & he said that it was the previous promotions money where that came from & I'll just say that a gentle word in his ear & all was solved .. so if anybody is owed money make sure you keep asking for it & eventually you'll get it

Newcastle Diamonds Limited (“the Company”)
I have been asked by the Director of the Company to assist with putting the Company into Liquidation and wind up its affairs.
The Company ran the Newcastle Diamonds team from the Newcastle Greyhound Stadium, taking part in the Championship League. The Speedway Team will not take part in any more events.
The main reasons put forward for the situation are reducing crowds leading to losses and the need to cease activities to avoid further losses.
British Speedway has been advised of the situation.
Parties owed money by the Company will be contacted separately shortly, including season ticket holders. Such parties can send an initial email to me with details of their what they consider is their claim against the Company.
If customers paid by card, they may be able to make reclaims from card providers. You should contact them to confirm what they need from you.
The director wishes to pass on his upmost apologies and considers that he did everything he possibly could to keep speedway alive at Newcastle, but with dwindling crowd levels well below breakeven left him little choice but to cease trading.

Just received this email this afternoon with regard to season tickets
Upmost apologies ha why don't you do the decent thing & pay up the season ticket money owed as the season ticket holders were happy to pay upfront at the start of the short season.. absolutely terrible actions from yaself Rob

All the fencing has been dumped by the trailer with the home straight fence on it & some of the other fencing is stored behind the pit container's!! So it looks as tho that's it for Newcastle speedway ( great history) for the foreseeable & if any fans want to travel to any meetings just get message me on here & if we get enough interest I'll be happy to run the travel whether it be a big coach or a minibus
