Sings4Speedway replied to greyhoundp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Never nice when a rider is held back due to injury. I wasn't convinced by the signing based upon his previous form as he had a tendency to slide off a lot and really dislike riders who retire then return a few months later. Sounds like he is far below the level he was at previously and loyalties or not riders looking awkward and getting beaten by NL level reserves don't deserve a team place. If you want that level of performance in the side then run with a potential developer rather than a never been. -

Bjerre has been around far too long to be having all these bike issues. They only stem from penny pinching or poor preparation, neither are acceptable at the top level of UK speedway, same applies to Barker too (although that never seems to change). -

Surely a change has to come sooner rather than later surrounding Phillips before the fans start to turn against the promotion? Whilst the selection lower is a bit slim with Jenkins starting the season below par he still looks a better option and Luke Harris has to be worth a look at for the future? Forget Edwards as Eastbourne have that deal sown up while others were sleeping. Phillips has had his chances and not taken them, now he is just blocking a spot for another Brit and its almost getting to the point that the interests of speedway card is played. As for Bjerre he has been around far too long to be having poor equipment and that is just not good enough. -

Any idea what time the main Ipswich meeting starts? Could make a full afternoon of Speedway. -

Only concern for me if i was an Eastbourne fan would be Lawson's time keeping, late to P&P, late to this meeting, there must be a growing feeling that he is going to miss a home meeting somewhere by not allowing enough travel time. -

Whilst i agree that the standalone companies do have greater difficulties negotiating fees (perhaps clubs should get together and negotiate a stronger deal) Speedway & Stadiums are in the Hospitality&Entertainment industry and as such are expected in these evolving times to offer card based payments. I have seen many times people leave shops / venues that do not accept card payments as they simply do not carry cash and the majority don't return, Speedway simply cannot afford any more spectators to no longer return. -

15 per cent? Whilst some of the systems are not cheap to setup Barclays and/or others are not highway men. -

Also confirms its still loose and not fully bedded in and that he doesn't mind the bumps it makes it more fun. As long as its safe its ok but i fear a fair number of fallers tonight. -

Wondering if Bewley & Lambert will be the other way round given Ruthless' connections? Surely its just a waste of a space giving Harris/Worrall a go? Might as well let an emerging rider like Zach Wajtknecht have crack and gain some experience? -

Will be watching the updates carefully on this one. Danger is that any rider(s) who struggle will start to blame the surface anyway. I hope it genuinely goes off without a hitch otherwise it will be the biggest case of i told you since...well that s been covered to death. But if it all goes wrong tonight it could be a massive financial hit for Swindon speedway. -

In all fairness Ellis could have fallen for a number of reasons, Batch may have never planned to take to the track so not all bad news although bit strange that they all only had 1 run each? That would probably be the most concerning part for me. -

Sings4Speedway replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If the quickest way round currently is round the inside what benefit would widening the track make? Aside from the lack of scope to do it due to the showground etc it could be made half a mile wide but the quickest current line would still be the inside as that's where the dirt is. I look forward to seeing your suggestions for Stokes track upgrade on their thread and will make sure i put plenty of time aside to read them all. -

Oh still no additional shale? I though the plans were to add quit a lot more and make the track far grippier? Is the lack of available shale the issue or the cost of it? -
Brummies v Rebels 17.04.19
Sings4Speedway replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I certainly wouldn't bank on it as there is no way i thought Kurtz would get 5 so maybe im just jammy? certainly shows that on the good days a strong heat leader trio will win matches on their own but will always be close. Brum can feel unfortunate almost everyone is doing their job/exceeding expectations especially Paco who i was harsh about early on. Thomsen is the only one costing them points at present and has to be in the firing line soon you feel? -
British U21 Semi Final - Isle of Wight - 16 April
Sings4Speedway replied to Rob Dyer's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Credit to all riders for putting on a show. Always likely to be a little strung out in places with only 4 riders of current NL heat leader or higher status but some excellent performances by the next generation of Palin & Ablitt. Im sure all the others benefited from the experience of the event. -
Brummies v Rebels 17.04.19
Sings4Speedway replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Big nights for Kurtz and Covatti. Should Covatti find 8 points then the rebels are in with a sniff, given his recent form should Kurtz find the track it might be considered a success. For the Brummies if Paco continues his 50/50 strike rate & Morris continues to be rider of the league then there should be plenty of points against the home side especially as Shanes is a different level of rider at home than he has shown so far. -
I think Palin is going to make Danny Phillips look a bit daft at Belle Vue this and will form a very potent heat leader trio with Flint & Bickley. Both Thompsons should be in the main team in no time and the difference between them will only be slender due to Joe's slightly inferior gating. The more i look at the Kent side the more im impressed with it, if Jenkins is the rider least likely to progress and a potential reserve pairing later in the year of Ledwith & Spooner its only circumstances that look like stopping this side.

Fantastically generous offer by the IOW promotion leading the way once again. On track Kinsley, Rowe & Jenkins "should" comfortably progress but certainly interesting to see how close Palin & Spooner will get. Fingers crossed for a good nights racing and hope all riders complete every ride for the deserving public. -

Crazy & alarming. Thought Gomolski has bikes ready to go in the UK and was desperate for a place? Kennett has virtually all his sponsors in white anyway so must have been slim offerings. -
EASTBOURNE v SOMERSET 13th April
Sings4Speedway replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Eastbourne have been clever and built a solid tail that can all score points an even when a couple struggle you can see the others stepping up to support the very strong top 3. In contrast the Rebels are totally reliant on the heat leaders keeping them in matches as the 2nd strings are adrift of where they need to be and the reserves are nice enough but its too early for them Wouldn't surprise me to see a few teams including the Eagles turn Somerset over at the OTA aswell.
