Its not just the impact on Birmingham speedway, when this side travels how many fans might decide to stay home rather than watch a very one sided affair? There will always be happy clappers but there are an awful lot of spectators who wish to be entertained. There will also be other promotions who aren't relishing the costs of facing and soundly beating Brum.

The other thing that hurts pay structure is race days. Weekend racing would open things up to a whole host of hobbyists who would be more willing to participate for expenses. However throw in midweek racing and time off work it takes its toll. The costs of putting a bike on track just with basics are high (tyres, oil, fuel) then other short term consumables (clutch plates, chains). Im not saying wage demands are always justified but NDL clubs are expecting GP equipment for reduced wages. -
1. Leicester 2. Oxford 3. Belle Vue 4. Scuffield 5. Edinburgh 6. Middlesborough Tight between 2, 3 & 4. Bottom two well adrift of the rest.

Certainly appears so, medals for everyone who turns up.....spectators that is as whats on show will be of little reward. Few years ago the NL was a viable competitor to the CL, now that has been diluted the NDL has to follow suit, to the point that its almost an unviable product. Can't imagine any club will get gates of more than a couple of hundred this season. -

Also think its likely to be Tom but have to disagree i think its a terrible looking team. I know every side is weakened but i struggle to see many home wins and certainly non on the road. -
SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings

The GTRs had thier merits but build issue and terrible organisation by the management commitee created a massive white elephant. Then there is the issue that riders will have decent bikes/engines prior to getting team places and probably wouldn't want to switch alternatives. The theory of clubs suppying and maintaining the engines to a standard they seem fit does appear good on the surface but would be a nightmare getting them back from released / injured riders. -
SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings

How many clubs demand 2 or more bikes and a van. Any rider with a respectable fixture list (even just CL only) would need a minimum of 2 bikes and realistically 3+ along with additional engines to cover for damage that can happen at any point during the seaon with fixtures often packed together. Doesn't present a good image stating i have no bikes / engines ready. -
IF it is Berge then Worky have a team full of "personality" if that works then it could be a very strong year, if it doesn't the blow up is going to be entertaining.

With respect if likely to be two meetings at Owlerton so hardly needing a track specialist. But im sure if someone provided bikes, kit, spares, a van and throw in a few quid JPB would show up and do a half arsed job. Perhaps Ben Hopwood, Scott Campos or Lewis Bridger could be tempted back too.

Has Dicken been posting some blistering practice performances over the winter? I would have expected more ripples if he was. Otherwise im questioning the fanfare other than the old Stags link because previous track records at NDL and even MDL were never anything to get excited about.

If Coles and Woolley can pass on some useful advice to McGurk then the signings make sense. However if they just pass on how to keep your average attractive for next season(Tom) or how to ride on the tightest budget (Connor) whilst practical it might not offer the greatest amount of progress. -

My bigger concern would be that there is very little in the Edinburgh side to challenge Luke -

Good because Sheffthorpe won't win it either A lot can be learnt by getting beat, but getting hammered home and away is going to do little for some riders reputations and poor management selections can actually prematurely finish careers. -

Depressing enough. No personal disrespect to any of the riders but its a side that sums up the state of UK speedway today -

Saw little P few times last year and was impressed each time. Attitude on and off track was spot on and its obvious there is ability there. Don't know whether the links to Rogers were purely a Brum thing or if he trying to get involved deeper? -
I agree that Keiran is a nice lad but nice doesn't often make for successful. 4.18 in 2021 but his average fell for the past 2 seasons despite having the same home track. Speedway is a ruthless business and sometimes it just doesn't work out for certain riders.

Championship Predictions 2024

Could also harm crowd levels? The novelty of big home wins week in week out and little on track action might be detrimental. The hardcore of club supporters will be pleased but the floating fans than many rely on could be more choosey. -
Could easily add Woods, Woolley, king and Davies to the list of riders who have had multiple chances and done little with it. Be nice to see a Rookie like Budd or Goldsborough get a chance

Genuine trials or a good way to boost practice day sales? Uncle Len used to say that year on year at Rye House but the team had been signed up months before -

Why on earth is Dayle even in contention, the league has been focused on developing British talent rather than giving places to a never been Aussie -

Standard Colts side namely be alright at home and chalk up decent wins and will look bang average or worse on thier travels
-
Just like they did last season and cost themselves a shot at the play offs in the process?
-
Very interesting side, very unproven number 1, strong 2,3,4 but weak number 5 ( whoever takes that role?). Reserves were always set to graduate and will hold thier own without the pressure of moving into the 1-5 all season. Ultimately uninspiring but matches should be entertaining at home.
