Probably get a reduction like Boxall for time away
-
Does it? Didn't see Rowe or Edwards beating a path to be in the British champs either or stand there as track reserves. When was Bailey asked? If it was on the initial list due to be ing U21 champ then he should have taken his place, if it was after other first choices had turned it down then he has every right to tell them to poke it. Same goes for SGP2, if he felt he wasn't ready or financially not set he has every right not to take up the option, just goes to show the nonsense that Vatcher pours into British speedway every year.

Edinburgh Vs Poole 4th August
Sings4Speedway replied to lisa-colette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Has one ever been removed for incompetence though? Other levels of motorsport you have to work up certain levels, even grasstrack requires reaching a certain amount of finals before being upgraded to a national licence and yet in theory if i purchased a club i could track any rider i liked even if they were grossly incompetent. -

Yep ridiculous as it seems/sounds you can buy a full pro licence straight off the bat, then bung the promotor as you say or even sponsor the club (as has been done countless times) and get rides.....terrifying really. -

Ive questioned this in the past though who is at most fault...the rider who grabs opportunities that they clearly are not ready for or the promotion who put said rider onto the track? I always have and will lay the blame at the latter. -
BIRMINGHAM V REDCAR WEDS 9 AUG .... CHILDREN'S NIGHT ACTIVITIES

Probably overall rider of the season so far, performing admirably across the leagues this year. -
Oxford vs Kent - NDL - 08/08
Sings4Speedway replied to Bojangles's topic in National League Speedway
Problem is getting a rider to turn up and stand around all evening mid week with low chances of getting a ride. Likely booking time off work, travel, late nights etc. Yes if there is an organised second half then grab a no.8 (and Kent likely would have in that situation) but otherwise it can take a lot to persuade riders for little/no return. The other option is to limit/restrict the number of times RR can be used per team and give the vacant slot to an unattached guest so that rider actually gets some laps. -
FIM Women's Speedway Academy at Belle Vue
Sings4Speedway replied to Bavarian's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Was this a rider funded event or sponsored and rider invites issued? Certainly don't question the motives and exposure but maybe a bias on funding ? -
Completely agree. Most likely form suggests a home win over Edinburgh will be the last of Kents points this year so certainly nowhere near play offs. The outcomes won't likely change whether its current side plus guests or full changes made. Current faith in Marson looks a wise choice given his match winning performance at the weekend although reserve guest choice was questionable to say the least.

Amazing how memory works as in my head Ace was leading Ablitt and looking for contact as Nathan came through, small touch and he bailed out. Either the ref saw through it or called it very wrong (likely the latter). No doubt there is plenty of talent but gating certainly needs work.

Whilst your points are legitimate which other sports insists that the competitors appear all over the country at a designated date time?. Very few NL riders are making money and tyre costs are vast (£50 a piece). To track a speedway bike for a meeting costs upwards of £150 (accounting for all wear and tear etc). You can generate a strong amateur scene of unpaid speedway but you cannot dictate which riders will be there on certain dates, it will be more a case of see who arrives on the day.

Kent Vs Workington 6/8/23 12:00
Sings4Speedway replied to paul84's topic in National League Speedway
Poor weather leading up plus grasstrack masters nearby will have certainly caused a hit to the crowd. Definitely a decent travelling support though and no lack of willing fromnthe away side but inability to gate cost them dearly. Ace unlucky with his first excusion and was on the back foot from there. Kent probably let a few more points slip through non existant team riding and potentially the bonus point with it. -

Not much to shout about for the Kent "go fund me" Royals. New signing not available, RR and average (cheap) guest plus questionable unattached 3 pointer choice. Throw in poor weather in the build up and varied forecast but lack or re-arrangement dates pushes the match ahead. Could be make or massive break for Kent this weekend. -
WORKINGTON COMETS V KENT ROYALS 12/8/23
Sings4Speedway replied to rocket007's topic in National League Speedway
Kent have a very loyal band of away fans that follow the team crazy distance even when they are doing poorly. Guest and RR placement will depend if Kent have any hopes of getting anything from the meeting. -
I know the Lions will be and hope the Cubs will join them, fingers crossed there is still a league worth entering.
-
Poor fixture planning has a lot to do with it. Accepting too many away fixtures and real fiascos with home meetings due to car park and track issues. Great people running the club but naive and sadly abused rather than helped by other promotions.

Peterborough Panthers 2023
Sings4Speedway replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My gut says the lower league will be Nora within the next couple of seasons. -
October play off final.....and thats relying on the semi finals going ahead. Feels like home and away twice was always going to be a tough ask, might not matter next year anyways...

Would think a bigger concern is the existence of the league next season rather than what its called. Entirely feasible that Edinburgh and Leicester won't be at the tapes, Kent have every right to think nuts to this and Mildenhall had to have a fair whip round at the start of the year to get running. This league hasn't been particularly well received at Berwick either (not helped by the crazy double header prices). The mass uncertainty of the higher leagues (the higher leagues that are incidentally riddled with much older riders) which could equally only have enough to form one league leaves the whole sport in a much bigger predicament than whether a D is necessary or not.

Who booked Max Perry? Academy just got away with the home win. -

So should he be anywhere near NL and certainly not CL. Nothing personal but theres plenty of 3.00ers who have put in the hours/miles/laps. Just because you are mates with someone don't make you any good -

What is the link with Parker and Edinburgh? Surprised he gets used at NL to be fair, at CL its more who is prepared to get changed early but tracking riders who could feasibly be lapped adds another level of risk to an already dangerous sport -
Oxford vs Kent - NDL - 08/08
Sings4Speedway replied to Bojangles's topic in National League Speedway
Something jangling in the back of my mind says Kent can only run 2 x NL meetings a month due to planning? Makes no sense as there is no restrictions on running practice/amateur meetings the other weeks of the month. With one September date already taken perhaps the risk of leaving the re-arranged fixture until then is something Kent and Oxford (for differing reasons) didn't want to take? Maybe its time to say if the fixture can't be run by the cut off date the away side gets the points and drop the fines against the hosting sides? -
Northern Junior League 2023
Sings4Speedway replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I find it infuriating that so many riders have cut thier teeth in the development leagues and gone on to far greater things and yet generally the powers that be do little to support them and often try to ignore thier existence. -

Interesting as Kent Mildenhall is also that date. Double header feels like a touch of madness given Iwades recent meetings
