    Rye House 2018

Pretty sure Nicholls will be at Rye next year . He was a special guest of BMR at Brands Hatch last weekend for the touring cars. Work that out .

So far all 4 riders named have been done so in the order of their averages. I just don't think Eddie's coming back . Ive just got a feeling the next rider will be NBJ as average is 6.5 , this will keep in with how they've named the others . This will give us a bit of youth and also give us a handy 10.55 for 2 reserve riders.

I'd love to see Tyson Nelson back over here . I know he has his problems but loved watching him and on a 6.06 average in my opinion that would be a steal. Also sure Busk Jacobsen will be in the team as he's an asset and on a handy average also.
  4. Went last night after not being up to Rye for last couple of months. Bit shocked to see the state of the place , nothing has changed for the better and what if anything have they done there in the last 2 months . The junior track inside the main track , why cut the shape out then leave it to weed over , looks a right mess . Had hopes for some good things regarding changes at Rye this year but they are now fading very fast , has the money needed run out ? Also regarding the team , definite bottom 3 the way things are going and where most teams at least try to change things we just stick with what we've got , even Brandford's deserved inclusion was down to Karger injury . If they were serious about things wouldn't they at least try something to make this very weak team stronger . Also regarding last night's match , surely in heat 12 Brandford should have replaced Morley who up to that point had been very poor , think Sampford would have done this , Shroek seems to nice to be a manager with no ruthless streak that you need . Oh well rant over for at least a couple of weeks.

Hope this goes ahead as it looks to me like we don't have another home first team meeting until July 31st. No wonder speedway struggles when fixtures are getting this infrequent. After another pointless show from Peter karger at Somerset last night could this be his last chance ? I believe he has now had enough meetings to allow a change . The team is still weak and really needs a shake up as away from home only Eddie seems consistent. Here's hoping.

I had a good chat with Robbo last week at the speedway celebration held at Paradise Park . He totally convinced me there is a big future for speedway at Rye . He told me the track work is looking great , also sure he said they had slightly widened the home straight. So after having my worries about the future I am now starting to think it could be rosy .

I to fear this will be our last year. Team BMR are 100% committed to touring car racing , just check the amount of tweets on their twitter account , with not one mention ever of speedway , just shows what they care about ( not the speedway ). A good friend of mine went down to the track about 3 weeks ago and didn't notice anything major had changed but was told the long bar was going to be a Honda dealership showroom , but nothing suggests a long term future for speedway . The team this year is shocking with only Cam Heeps possibly upping his average but all the big targets we should have gone for havnt come (Barker ,Worrall, Masters etc) whereas team BMR's car team is superb and includes Jason Plato and Colin Turkington , says it all about where Warren Scott wants to invest .Bottom of the league for sure and Shads will be proved right about his Tarmac quote im sure. An extension to the kart track I reckon , Warren Scotts second love it seems.

According to Herts Mercury Ruml is a no go and its back to an Aussie . As there isn't any decent ones left I think we are nailed on for bottom place . As previous poster has said the only trump card we had was Kasper at reserve and getting a new 5 pointer in at the bottom end will stop that . Shambles with a capital "S".

See Tyson Nelson was mentioned in the Mercurys press release as one of the riders rumoured to be replacing Klindt. Visa issues have again ruled this out but as Nelsons average was above what was left ,6.04,it must have meant they were planning to release someone else as well.

Just read that Brandford won't be in the Edinburgh team next season. Says two premier teams interested in signing him . Wonder if we are one of them ? Would settle for him and Masters as last two riders . They did win the doubles meeting at the end of the season , lets hope they were tapped up and we get them both.

    Rye House 2016

From speaking to track staff and from what I have read from other posts , Edward was apparently having a hand in selecting this new team . Supposedly he gave a list of riders names to the management who he wanted at Rye and left it to them . I would be very surprised if Klindt was on the list so I guess his input has been ignored . Now seeing Lambert has signed for another premier team i don't know what the new owners are upto. Also just seen Nick Morris has signed for a Polish team so that basically rules him out . Who's left ? Starting to worry about this season.

As I previously said , if we can somehow get Nick Morris and Adam Ellis in to fill the last 2 places it would be a decent team . Its so important to have a strong reserve at all times so could they go for 2 six pointers like Nelson and Cameron Heeps for example instead thus meaning a quality reserve at all times . Heeps is good at Rye so would have liked him anyway.

Average looking team , could be transformed with the right pair to finish with . If they could get Nick Morris and Adam Ellis in could be a very decent team . I think they fit with what's left , would leave Robert Lambert alone , massive talent but could miss quite s few meetings as Peterboro found out last year. Pleased with Leigh Lanham always good value around Rye and a nice guy as well.

Oops. Back to Morley . Last time you had him at Redcar you couldn't wait to get shot of him . Admittedly things are different now as in lots of rides against equal opposition but having seen him for a fair few years now he has reached his level. I can never see him kicking on above a 3 to 4 point average , will always be a number 7 at best.

Could Tyson Nelson be coming back . Club asset , I enjoyed his unpredictability. He is still doing ok in Australia and im sure if he did come back he would do well. Also if the new owners have any ambition they must go and try and get Ben Barker as he is on a false average and I would also go for Cameron Heeps whose not in the Ipswich team.3 point reserve Daniel Spiller if eligible , no one seems to be mentioning him , but please no Ben Morley.
