  1. So you think that a sponsor who has probably paid 10's of thousands of pounds will just say "that's fine by me". Pull the other one. What do you think will happen at the next GP....... I'll tell you what would happen..... it would happen again, and again. Then it's anarchy, it will be a free for all....... truly seen as a Micky Mouse sport. Can you imagine England playing a world cup football match, and the entre forward says I'm going to wear MY sponsors logo today. If you want speedway to be recognised as a world sport then it's got to be done professionally all As for you point "I think we should be able to see what's gone on here", I agree with you. In an earlier post I commented BZ did a simple mistake, took the wrong kevlars. Others have pointed out he knew what he was doing and giving publicity to HIS main sponsor. If that theory is proved the case I can see BZ being thrown out of the whole series for this year with no certainty of a place for next year. It's getting very interesting.
  2. If next years gp’s get the”fresh” riders some posters on hear want because “it’s the same ones year by year” THEN you would see the weakest gp field ever for a whole gp year. Next year I would have in the current top 10 plus the SEC winner (possibly) Michelson as it stands, plus the 3 from GP challenge. The GP challenge May put Jan Kvech into next year GP…. that’s how the rules go, but IMO he is not GP quality….yet.
  3. Without sponsors there likely be no world GP's, without sponsors in the UK would be no premiership nor championship. Someone's paying for you to get enjoyment.... remember that.
  4. His mistake. He will make sure next time.
  5. You were right, now reversed, so Basso 2nd.
  6. So Zmarzlik wore non conforming leathers with respect to advertising. Imagine you paid 10's of thousands of pounds to advertise your business to appear before a potential world wide audience at every gran Prix/practice/news (everything included in the legally drawn up document signed by all parties). We talking big money here. Then someone turns up advertising a different sponsor. Do you think the sponsor who paid lots of money for GP advertising would be happy. Riders will have signed contracts too, no doubt stating the organisers of the GP's lay down the rules and riders/pit crew etc will have read the rules and agreed to adhere to them. I can easily see Zmarzlik made a simple mistake but the responsibility is to advertise the GP sponsor. Legal boys would have been all over this if the penalty stipulated was not adhered to, and rightly so. The FIM would have been in deep trouble, with this and potentially lost sponsors for next year - lack of adhering to contracts. As for the suggestion Poland could withdraw riders and tracks from next year's GP's..... they will fully understand the situation because they too will have legal documents with their own sponsors...how do you think they can afford big money to the riders on Polish racing.
  7. Problem with Cierniak is he is too fast. So much so he has not got the experience of coming from the back against riders that are now equally as fast as he. very impressed wth 2 Danish reserves tonight as well as Casper Henriksson.

    Berwick 2023.

If the culprits get caught all they will get is smacked hands and told not to do it again.

    Gordon Kennett

    Sad news to read.
  10. He can’t count. From where I sat (in my living room) I counted 61,217

    Richie Worrall statement

If indeed he is negative would this lead to legal action against SCB….. at least for loss of earnings, possibly damage to reputation.
  12. Not conversant with H&S rules, what changes have taken place since BV hosted the 2016 world team that would not allow the temporary stand?
  13. Presumably the stadium, with temporary stands in use, was approved as safe in 2016 for the world team championship on 2016.
  14. With temporary stands on bend 3-4 about 8500 max. That’s similar to some gp’s this year.
  15. You are thinking outside the box.... that's fine. However this can only be a non starter. Letting the public loose on a two wheel motor cycle, even an electric powered one, has to be a no go. A go kart has four wheels and a bumper guard all round. Need a lot of cotton wool to prevent serious injuries on any form of 2 wheel racing.... unless they have stabilisers lol.
  16. No apologies here for being critical but..... more then a few on here in last couple years been criticising the fuddy duddy music churned out at speedway meetings.... like it not going to attract the young spectators the sport desperately needs, So WBD, Knowing the audience it wants to attract, plays modern music and gets criticised. They can't win it seems.
  17. Some of the comments on here all add to why British speedway is in the dumps. Riders can spend 10’s of thousands of pounds on equipment but the spectators say going watching is worth only £15 for 15 races. Then it comes to the cream of British racing event, a GP with the worlds best riders giving it all, and they did once again, in a city centre (couldn’t get any more centre), meeting guaranteed no matter what the weather, seats (not standing) from £20 and a fair chunk of the crowd would be in that price range, plenty of meeting day activities including bars, eateries, parks, , rolling hills 10 miles away, sand & sea…………. and they still want hotels for £30 a night. Get a pop star performing in the same stadium and entry could be £60-£100, the hotels in 3 figures, and the city will be rammed full, no problem. We know the prices in 2024 will be at least this years prices, so if you want to go you get saving from now. The show is not moving to Wembley, but Wembley costs would be similar if not more, the facilities of parks, rolling hills, sand & sea will not be there, parking probably madness and high price, don’t know about bars and eateries, hotels just as expensive etc……. you can’t guarantee a meeting cause if it rains that’s it done, it would be a temporary track with its potential problems, and as I recall the racing at Wembley was not brilliant anyway. Atmosphere was good, very good….. but what would you prefer a fantastic atmosphere or good racing. My choice would be good racing every time. Cardiff can produce good racing, it has over the years, massive hiccup last year, but lesson learnt they are not going to let that happen again.
  18. Correct…. Virtually all city hotels put there prices up when a “show” is taking place in the city, be it football, pop star, an exhibition etc. Any city centre with attractions will have not only higher hotel prices, but bars, restaurants, car parking etc will have premium prices too. They invest a lot of money and need a return. Check out prices for during the week with example Travel Lodge, Premier Inn etc and you will find nightly prices in the week varies. If I remember right Tuesday night was the most expensive because more reps are out on the road.
  19. Man of the meeting…. No doubt in my mind….. Jack Holder. IMO he’s the one to take the battle to Zmarzlik in the next few years. Has a riding style similar to Zmarzlik and the same tenacity. Dan is fast when he is on it, sometimes not on it though. pre the trophies, riders might appreciate the fact there is less polishing.
  20. I understand the track has been widened this year, with the 4% incline that puts the fence higher, probably meaning the bottom seats have even more restricted view than normal. So, move every one up.
  21. It’s brutal out there.
  22. Track too wet. Phil’s been at it.
  23. After watching the qualifier I think we're in for some great racing tomorrow night. In the UK only Belle Vue would be a better race track but it ain't going to happen anytime soon so, going forward Cardiff Principality stadium is the way to go forward. To get cheaper sleeping arrangements move out of Cardiff. For two years we stayed at the bottom of the valleys and the last year in Bridgend.
  24. In 2013-14-15 we were on upper tier 3rd bend. Enjoyed the good view we had looking down on the track, straight up the back straight, riders thundering into the 3rd bend. Great stuff.
  25. Stevie Worrall finished 7th fastest qualifier.
