Sgp Wildcards 2018

Sponsors should have absolutely no say on who gets a place in the GP series. Am very disappointed with this decision re Holder. With ll this mention of Monster on this forum, has anyone gone out and bought a can or three. No, me neither. -

Dudek CAN do that, but maybe a different thing when under pressure. -

5 Aussies in the last GP when the leading contender is an.....Aussie. The more Aussies there are the better the chance of THE Aussie getting enough points to win the title. Now how that is a boost for Aussie speedway. Not only 5 Aussies in the GP taking place in Aussie, but the opportunity of the first time an Aussie has been crowned world champion on his own soil. Be interesting how the "other 4" score against Doyle compared to how they score against Dudek. If they get half a chance they going to beat Dudek but not the Aus. -
When, if, BT drop the GP's thats when |I drop BT (and I only joined them this year) I hop they show British speedway next year but wouldnt be too bothered if they didnt, the racing hasnt been all that exciting for me. The coverage has been ok for me, just the racing not set me on fire.

It would be good to have someone with that personality in speedway, particularly if he was British..... but then again, Rossi is a one off as you say. Moto GP will be very much the poorer when he retires - and they know it. He is the ultimate publicity machine, any manufacturer will show sales of their machines are v.good when he is/was in their team ie Yamaha,Ducati, Honda.
-
So then, do GM motors not need any tuning?? Do they not have to be set up for different tracks/different conditions?? Do GM put in the "box" all the settings for all the tracks and different types of conditions for each track?? Very possible that grass tracks are a much larger circuit then speedway, particularly on the continent. So one would expect tuning could be vastly different on a long grass track compared to a 340 metre slick speedway track - including cams

5 Aussies and 4 Poles - over half the field from 2 countries. -
For those who like Moto GP but missed yesterday GP from Philip Island, Aussie, on TV tonight at 7pm channel 5 (or 4 cant remember but think 5) It was an amazing race, an Aussie leading the race for the first third of the laps (no not Casey Stoner), then, as Stars says, 7 or 8 battling it out. It was close racing at its best. So close that Rossi got a tyre mark on his left shoulder from Marques front wheel - amazing stuff. Commentators remarked it was the "best race ever". Really a "must watch"

Well there we are. So much grumbling about the farce how British speedway is run, and it could be that No2 (or No3) in the world comes and rides on a farcical average. Its as if British speedway rules are a farce unless they apply to "my" team, then they are OK
-
Would transponders work on a speedway track though, what with different start positions even within a riders own "box"??
-
Was impressed with Georgie Wood on the two televised meetings seen him against Leicester. I hope he makes it to the top. - seems to have a good attitude.
-
Your right baldyman, you only need to think of F1 and MotoGp to know the green light is effective. Added to that is the transponder which detects movement. I dont know whether a transponder will work for speedway. F1 and MotoGP etc have concrete base to work from, the machines dont chew up the track likw speedway does. So whether technically a transponder could be used I dont know. Maybe a green light with a electronic beam across the track would - dont know if any trials have been done. But the starting tape fiasco is just one that needs sorting, bring speedway into the 21st Century with other things too.

During the GP 11 meetings so far I have been noting WARNINGS given to riders for start infringements - all but Krsko,Warsaw (didnt keep a record), and Teterow (cant find sheet) Krsko Warsaw Daugavpils 2 (ht 6, 12) Prague 4 (ht 3, 13, 20, Final) Horsens 2 (ht 2, 15) Cardiff 5 (ht 1, 6, 8, 15, Final) Malila 2 (ht 2, 10) Gorzow 0 Teterow Stockholm 6 (ht 2, 3, 7, 7, 12, 12) Torun 2 (ht 4, Final) Most common offender - Kildemand, Pawlicki, NKI, and Doyle No one seems to have faulted again in a meeting. Doesnt include those who broke the tapes - but the race has to be stopped anyway. What those figures dont show (for obvious reasons) are the number of times races are restarted because of first bend incidents.
-
and do you think fans will be happy not knowing who has won a race/team points until the ref makes a decision. And judging by comments on BSF most refs dont make the correct decisions now never mind when all these scenarios have to be judged. Nonsense, complete nonsense.
-
Why does it seem to be in the early heats?? 1) Tracks are not race tracks in early heats, more follow the leader, meaning rider needs to get into first corner in front to stand a chance of winning. 2) We all virtually agree this years series of GPs have been the toughest in recent years. The riders know that, so they need to get one over their competitor very early in the race ie the start
-
Getting flyers is not going when the tapes go, its going BEFORE the tapes do. Not acceptable, its going back to the 70's when Mauger, Olsen and more ruled the roost. Transponders would be ok but maybe not practical on a speedway track. A beam in front and at the rear of the riders. Any movement before the light that would break the beam means they out. 30secs/1minute not required if riders cant get attention on the track, its straight round.
-
No, no, no, much too subjective, all sorts of arguments will follow. Put the offender on a warning as now, but bring the riders straight back to the tapes, no pit gate open, no mechanics fiddling with bikes.....just get them straight back......keep it simple

So, Lebedev, Milik and Laguta all in heat 2 - pity that, bit later on in the meeting when the track has settled would have been nice. -
Housing complex on what was Ellesmere Port speedway is well on the way to completion.

Im confused. Are we talking about meeting reserve - you know, the one that stands in once a meeting has started for tape exclusions and a rider getting injured during the meeting, No's 17,18 or we talking about the 3 series reserves picked at the beginning of the year to replace riders who get injured during the season and have to miss a GP or GPs. In the situation of Aussie GP we surely must be talking about the 3 series reserves which were I think Kildemand, Fricke and Smolinski. Another was needed and they put Milik in. We at the situation because of Fricke a replacement for him will need to be in - that should be Milik or another nominated...... but not one of the 2 meeting reserves (17,18) -

Somewhere in my mind I understood Milik would not get a ride at Aussie GP. That was because NKI was back riding, So as Milik was 3rd reserve he would miss out. Now with Fricke out that gives Milik a go again. Cant be bad.
