Poole vs Plymouth BSN series 19/04/23

This may seem Mad but Plymouth could have won last night if they had gated first. Paul Starke 0 0 3 3 0 gated first twice two wins I enjoyed good friday meeting meeting but i think that is me finished for another season and wonder how many more fans think the same. Shame really because Poole have good entertaining team this year on good track it should good night out.

    Poole 2018

I think both cost cutting exercises kevlars and commercial manager just shows what a businessman matt ford is A businessman would have sold 10 advertising section on race suits at £350.00 each So 10 x £350 = £3.500 a race suit x 7 = £24,500 income. This income would pay for race suits and a wage for a commercial manager for a year. The commercial manager then could spend his time marketing Poole Speedway to increase crowds and gain more sponsorship. A good commercial manager with the Poole brand should gain extra £60,000 income over a season. But what did Matt ford do: He spent all his time putting a team together of riders on false averages which in turn probably means he had to use a lot of his sponsors to gain there signatures. At the end of the day Matt Ford can run Poole Speedway how he likes but Speedway needs to look at the bigger picture (not because Poole are getting rid of kevlars the rest of the teams should follow)

    Poole 2018

£8000 / £9000 per meeting Rubbish or Speedway promoters are more silly than I thought I went to few Poole meetings last year and if there was more than 1500 paying fans they would be very lucky When you take 80% of the crowd are over 60 or kids then 20% of the gate money goes in vat. So you would be lucky to take £16,000 per meeting so Magic would have took all the gate money for a home and away meeting (mad). It is time for Speedway riders and fans to get real Speedway in this country can not pay anymore than £100 a point.
  9. Racer and Royals (you are the man) thanks for your information. We got to Ostrow not a bad meeting thank you. The day after Torun could you confirm that there is play off between Gdansk v Torun (trying to book which airport to fly too)
  10. We are going to both Gorzow & Torun Gp,s but having a major problem finding any meetings on the Sunday after GP. If any kind person could post any information of meetings on these Sundays it would help with a lesser hangover on the Monday

    Save Weymouth Speedway Campaign

Very good turn out and it was good to meet up with old friends again Days like yesterday shows how much interest there is in Weymouth Wildcats Speedway team A lot of people could not make yesterday and there was still nearly 200 people on a wet and windy saturday morning. Lets just hope that Weymouth Speedway has some luck for a change and Weymouth Speedway can come back better and stronger.
  12. I have just read Weymouth Track Review in the Speedway Star and i would just would like to point out a few facts.Anybody reading the Bartlett spin story would think that Weymouth Speedway was unviable which is not true if weymouth speedway was run right. I was Commercial Director (a big name for it) in 2006 /2007 for the wildcats. Me John Hawkins Ray Collins Julie Martin and with Paul and Ross from influx marketing We were the ones that did all these promotions ( Bartlett was on about SS) ie leaflets in every hotel, leaflets on every car in the car park, giving kids go free tickets on the seafront ect. We also made The Dorset Echo, Wessex Fm and Littlesea Holiday Park Media partners. In 2006/2007 we also gave away free tickets for people to sample speedway and hopefully they would pay the next week (which was working well) Weymouth Speedway has catering and bar rights for wessex stadium (we were averaging £5.00 ahead on top of admission price)so more people in the stadium the more money made. In 2006/2007 Phil Bartlet did none of the promotion work for Weymouth Speedway and in fact he thought it was a waste of time. In 2007 Weymouth Speedway were averaging 487 paying people per meeting we were also getting 30 plus people with free tickets so we were averaging over 500 per meeting. We run 23 meetings in 2007 and broke even over the season. So Weymouth Speedway can break even if it is run right. To sum up Phil Bartletts business skills in 2007 Weymouth Speedway was paying £1200 per meeting (23 meetings x £1200 = £27,600) In 2008 Bartlett went to the landlord for a meeting to reduced the rent and came away thinking he had done well. Since 2008 Weymouth Speedway has been paying £38,000 a year in rent you could not make it up
