Locke pushed the bike so far over the line it was rediculous, I kept looking for exclusion lights as Couzins actually crossed the line in avoiding Locke, so Heat 2 actually should of been a 3-0. *I stand on turn 1 so had the perfect view.

Gonna be a tough close meeting I think. The visiting Heat leader trio of Morley Hurry and Boxall could be devastating and heats 13 and 15 could be exceptionally tricky for kent. Roynon getting his first look at the track could be hit or miss, but Hopwood has recovered his early season form, and JT is becoming formidable (when his bikes don't let him down) around Central Park. But the kent second strings are all scoring freely and riding with composure, and should on paper be able to dominate against a steadily improving bottom 3 of Lakeside. I think the key to the evening is Bowtell. A fast improved rider who at times has looked like a 4th Heat leader. If he is firing kent could be in trouble. While you can never be certain of stunning racing, what I am certain we will get is a tense and exciting encounter in terms of match result. In football terms it's a real six pointer, a defeat for either side won't be a killer blow, but it would certainly dent Kents chances more. Weather looks set fair, let's just hope for a good, safe meeting and of course a 49-41 home win would be perfect.

When this was being discussed on the kent site a couple of weeks ago, a few of us thought it was 31st July, but Connor Dugard posted saying the end of August.

Just compare that to a properly ran club, and at Kent we have already had 15 home meetings this season (plus at least 1 rain off.) Ok the SDL meetings may have attracted only 200 or so fans BUT I still had something to do on that Monday night.

you would have 2 guests and 1 rr, but your point is still valid

Swindon V Poole Thurs 27/07/
teaboy279 replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who was the Swindon rider who took down Wajknecht last night, seen a couple of posts on FB less then complimentary about the inability to team ride. Wondered if it was an old or young head. -
Waco what are you on mate, you can only have a guest if 2 of your 1-5 are unavailable and this has been the case for sometime. Lakeside have had Thier share of rule manipulation this term signing Hurry on a rediculous average...you are not expecting more favours surely. Would not suprise me though if Laurence gets a bug today and is covered by rr, allowing a guest for ZW.

This conversation pops up annually, but I don't think their are many more injuries then any other year (in fact probably less this year, then the last few). And certainly far less "life changing" injuries then the "glory days" Ask my dad how many friends he lost during his career and there is a list, ask a modern rider the same question and for most riders the answer will be zero. Just more reported in this day and age with the interweaving etc etc

How can you pull out of a cup in JULY because of no available dates, that can't be right surely?

Fanzone Autographs At Cardiff
teaboy279 replied to Doners123's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
They are at set times, check the sgp website, but you wanna try queuing 20 mins or so before the start time of the session. Although with heavy rain all day I dare say the fanzine won't be as busy this year. -
Castrol r is certainly still used.

We have rr for Hopwood Morley for Bowen Coles for Stoneman
-
Just for semantics Marson is not a guest (to be a guest you need to be in another teams declared 1-7) He is riding as a 3 point unattached rider.
-
Andrew Palmer is a lovely young lad, I first came across him at Lydd last year. He has come on leaps and bounds and did not disgrace himself at National League level. Will be a steal of a 3 point signing in 2018.

If it makes it a bit tighter then it would of been, surely that makes the fixture more attractive?

Portwood beat Spooner and O Keefe to win the amateur meeting at kent recently. Looked awful in his first and by the end of the night he was very good. Certainly think the lad has potential. And certainly will score at reserve.

Kent got of to an awesome start, but unfortunately the nasty spill for Wilson in heat 5 just sent the whole night flat. Hopefully Ben is not as serious as feared. Credit where credit is due, 40 mins or so before the curfew only 4 heats had been completed, but the ref and the riders cracked on and if not for a last heat stoppage the meeting would have been completed. Heat 4's initial staging was as good as any speedway you could see anywhere in the world, with Stoneman and Coles passing and repassing each other for fun. 3 kent riders hit maxes tonight, and stoneman was unbeaten before heat 15 so as the heat was not completed does his exclusion count in the statistics? But nights like these are so deflating. If iow didn't have bad luck this season they would have no luck at all. Martin or Barry must of broken a mirror on the quiet over the winter. Of course the paramount thought tonight is Ben Wilson, let's hope we wake up to some decent news in the morning.

I guestimated about 750-800, biggest crowd I ve seen since they came into NL, and certainly bigger then a few EL meetings I attended there. Probably about half the crowd that a big standard stock Car meeting attracts.

I reckon closer to 48-42, but I certainly don't think it's impossible. But with the quality of Mattie Bates at reserve, if he is on form he has the potential to decimate the kent lower order.
