  1. Hi, Does anyone have details of the NJL fixtures for seasons 2010 and 2011. They don't appear to be available on the SGB web site. Results not required, just fixtures and dates. Thanks, David
  2. I think if you paid money to go to a concert and the sound or lighting was sub-standard, irrespective of the atmosphere, you would have good cause to 'whinge' I see no difference here. Apart from one or perhaps two isolated instances, the 'racing' was processional and boring. My grandson who has only ever been to one other speedway meeting before (at Lakeside) actually asked me during the meeting why the riders were going so slow. This was an evening of speedway riding. What I thought I was paying for was speedway racing.
  3. Okay, understand all that, but I suppose the point I am making is that if the decision to postpone was known in advance, as it obviously was, then a simple message on the Reading Racers web site to that effect would have removed any confusion. Why have a web site otherwise? I presume the development league information shown on the Speedway GB web site is simply fed to them by the various development leagues or clubs and that doesn't seem to have happened either. I realise those involved at this level are doing it for the love of our sport and mostly out of the goodness of their hearts not to mention pockets, and I applaud them for that, but it is just another example of the lack of organisation and professionalism that seems to beset speedway.
  4. Okay, thanks Arnie. Glad I didn't make the trip in the end. Very confusing if you are following web sites for information.
  5. Does anyone know the story behind this fixture which is still listed on both the Reading Racers and Speedway GB web sites as taking place on 6 May but clearly didn't and in fact is not mentioned at all in the Swindon programme for that date? David
  6. For all its faults and mismanagement, and lets face it they are legion, glad to see logic has at least prevailed in the M+SDL with Reading racing at Swindon, Weymouth at Poole and Exeter at Plymouth. My fragile faith in the speedway gods is at least partly restored.
  7. Hi, If anyone has a copy of the Eastbourne programmes from 19/5/2018 or 1/9/2018 I would be grateful to hear from you either here or email me at david_brown555@hotmail.com Thanks, David

Hello Dave, I think I have sent you a PM with my email address, but please let me know if you don't receive it.

    Anglia Junior League

Dave, Do you know of anywhere on line that I can find the Anglia Junior League fixture dates and results for the years that it was in operation? I have looked but with no success. I realise that some at least are available in various Speedway Yearbooks but I don't have them all.

    SDL results and scorers 2018

Logic would suggest Weymouth race at Poole and Reading at Swindon, but there doesn't seem much logical about the way speedway in this country is run at present. Slightly straying from the original topic but, I was at a track I won't mention last season and a lady using crutches came through the turnstile and then realised she had forgotten to purchase a programme which were also being sold on entry at the turnstile. Believe it or not, she was made to go back outside the stadium and queue again to buy her programme. If the track management recognises itself from this account, shame on you

I suspect this was a rhetorical question from gustix? I can't speak for Exeter or Weymouth but I know of some from the Reading area who made as many trips down to Eastbourne as they could to follow the Racers, including myself and one of my sons. It is a great pity of course that the trip has to be made but that is the sad state of speedway in the UK at present. My father used to speak of the days when you could go to speedway every night of the week and never leave London! I think its safe to say those days will never be repeated.

    revamped Dev League 2019

Thanks. I have no particular connection with Exeter but try to follow the development league situation, albeit obviously not as closely as you, as I am an old Reading Racers fan and am pleased to see the Racers name back on track, and could not help noticing that the post above and the SGB web site both make mention of Kent, Peterborough, Belle Vue and possibly Weymouth all being lost to the development league scene, and the addition of Plymouth, but there is no mention at all of Exeter.

Laurence, Are Exeter competing in the 2019 M+SDL? The SGB web site would suggest not, but shows Plymouth as a competing team and they were not in last season's SDL, so is this team Exeter under a different name?

    revamped Dev League 2019

No mention is made of losing Exeter from the old SDL. Are the Falcons now riding as Plymouth and, if so, where does that leave those who are trying to revive the name of the Exeter Falcons to British speedway?
  15. Hi, Could anyone please tell me in which years Boston competed in the Anglia Junior League. I believe they were one of the original teams in 1978 and possibly also competed in 1982. Can anyone assist please? Regards, David
