I felt from nearly the off that there was something not quite right about this year at King's Lynn. I couldn't put my finger on it, the track seemed iffy early on; not sure "same again" in team building is ever a winner and the hangover from last year's disappoinment continued. In short there was little fizz. Once those terrible injuries happened, the balloon was well and truly popped. I hope there will be a 50th anniversary meeting - or will it be next year to take account of the year we missed.

Yes, it's speedway and the season goes on - unlike those EL days. Should have been ridden earlier but there you are. It would be a mockery to leave the competition incomplete. Also keeps our lads on track in the build up up to the final which has to be a good thing. Those of us with long memories remember how Eastbourne were caught cold in the first ever play off to decide the EL title. We were top of league and didn't ride while the other four teams went through a qualifier. When the time came Wolves were hot and we were cold.

Eastbourne Twitter has just said Brad and Marc will ride in the NL Pairs
