Eastbourne Eagles Vs Birmingham Brummies 31st May Ko Cup

Eastbourne Facebook, Twitter and website all saying the meeting off. Looks like there has just been too much rain overnight. Pity but as Alex 2000 says, on the Dry Hose next week. -

Playing Devil's Gallop then, Alex 2000. You may need to go back to Google!! -
Now you're talking

The point is Bryn is that the article is on the internet a week late. It is a simple as that. In this digital age, there is no reason why that article could not have appeared the night of the meeting. The fact that Mr Cook decided to give the news first in his programme - a week after the meeting - shows a clear lack of understanding about the power of the internet. In fact, it is Luddite.
-
Didn't get it wrong. You and probably of a similar age to Bryn and don't get this internet thingy. Jon Cook needs to communicate with young people. He certainly won't do that through an article in a programme a week after the event. And then, they put it online a week after the event. No need for me to apologise. Lakeside need to move in the 21st Century with their communications. At the moment they are stuck in the 1980s. Sad but true
-
I didn't make myself clear. My "complaint" was that in the digital age, Mr Cook decided to publish first in print (his programme) a week after the event took place. The report to which you refer is welcome but has a publication date of May 29. Why the delay? There surely can be no reason why that report could not have been written and published within 24 hours of the meeting - at the latest. Young people get their information from their mobile phones: ALL speedway clubs should remember this. Mr Cook's article could well have gone in the programme last night but there seems no reason whatsoever that in 2015 it was not published online first.

No argument with the stadium itself. Buster has transformed what was a run-down dump into an excellent venue. I haven't been to every track in the country so cannot say whether it is the best - but I would say it is one of the best. The track also used to provide incredible racing. It is not so good and this year has been dire. I was told by another fan that the material used for the track surface is good for cars and that's why it has gone down. I can understand that because stocks/bangers seem to draw bigger crowds than speedway anywhere. Maybe we will have to live with it.

it is exciting but wrong result for lakeside

Personally, I never worry about the weather until the actual day. Forecasts are just that - a prediction of what the "experts" think will happen. Timings change a lot over any period of time. I think the first meeting at Arlington this season put down a marker for the fans. It wasn't the best of days weatherwise but we raced and it was exciting. I will leave it to Martin, Connor and the experienced track staff at Arlington - with Bob - to get the track ready. I trust them to do it if at all possible. And if you are on Twitter, follow @Martindugard23 He is a regular and I am sure he will let you know if it is off. -
No run in at all with Buster. Can't say we have ever spoken, as is the case with most fans with most promoter.s I visit when I am working in East Anglia and try and come to KL but sadly the racing is not what it was. You cannot run away from the facts. I just hope the Flux Arena becomes what the Norfolk Arena was - a damn good race track with thrill a minute stuff. Admittedly, I missed this week - thought the meeting was Wednesday and failed to double check. Luckily I didn't arrive at Saddlebow Road on the wrong date. I wish KL all the best this season and would love to see them win the league in their anniversary year BUT all is not well at the moment. I will be happily join with you in pointing out when things get better. TBF, the prog is a little bit better than last year but in truth that is not saying much.

He has probably invented square wooden wheels to make things more exciting

Jon Cook is so out of touch wanting to communicate with fans via the programme. We live in a digital age. Expecting Jon to recommend the return of the JAP at any moment.
-
Anyone going to use that new fangled thingy internet and let us know what Jon Cook wrote with his quill pen in the programme. Or did everyone buying a programme tonight have to sign an oath of silence in blood.
-
Whoaa! Let's get a bit further down the road of 2015 before we get to 2016. I'm in no hurry to get to that year, I can tell you.

Jon Cook claiming in Speedway Star that promoters need to talk and listen to fans views. Then in 2015 with the digital age welland truly dawned, websites, social media in the ascendacy, Mr Cook decides to communicate with fans via the programme. You couldn't make it up. No wonder EL speedway s so out of touch with its supporters. He'll be stuffed by a rain off or will people have to waitfor a restaging in August when he will reissue thr peogramme.

Time to read the programme...King's Lynn have pretensions of being a big team with perhaps the poorest EL programme in the lead. Not as good as some NL tracks, sad to say. King's Lynn really do need to up their game all round.
-
You should be more worried about the King's Lynn track this season: it is causing people to stay away.
-
And are we going to see some real, exciting passing or will be another gate and go night at the Norfolk Arena?
-
Oh Well Theres Always Next Season!

We will need a check on the 19th You have to fear whether lakeside will see this year out. It is turning into an omini-shambles of a team. Club has lost direction, I think. Is there a will to survive? They may need to do an Eastbourne and rediscover what speedway is all about. -
@catinthehat And Niall Strudwick ???? is a very good rapper ???

very sad to hear about Bridger. people should be slow to judge. I think self-restraint is needed on here and elsewhere

Wolves V Lakeside Hammers 25/05/15

How's the Elite League going this year? The sport at this level is beyond belief. Lakeside might as well not bother going, concede the match and save everyone an awful lot of trouble. -
