  1.

What a load of cobblers! :) It's on the website which is a good site, updated regularly and the club also have a Facebook page. And, given my mangled mitts I do practically everything (within reason! ;) ) on the internet as do many of similar age, and indeed older than me!

The point is Bryn is that the article is on the internet a week late. It is a simple as that.

In this digital age, there is no reason why that article could not have appeared the night of the meeting.

The fact that Mr Cook decided to give the news first in his programme - a week after the meeting - shows a clear lack of understanding about the power of the internet.

    In fact, it is Luddite.

  2. No chance of that Bryn. Easy to put jump in feet first and get it wrong. It takes someone with a bit of backbone to apologise and it pretty clear from Mr Westons persistent whinging he hasn't got one.

Didn't get it wrong. You and probably of a similar age to Bryn and don't get this internet thingy.

Jon Cook needs to communicate with young people. He certainly won't do that through an article in a programme a week after the event.

And then, they put it online a week after the event.

No need for me to apologise.

Lakeside need to move in the 21st Century with their communications. At the moment they are stuck in the 1980s.

    Sad but true

  3.

Look at the club's website! And apologise to Jon Cook perhaps

    I didn't make myself clear.

My "complaint" was that in the digital age, Mr Cook decided to publish first in print (his programme) a week after the event took place.

The report to which you refer is welcome but has a publication date of May 29. Why the delay?

There surely can be no reason why that report could not have been written and published within 24 hours of the meeting - at the latest.

Young people get their information from their mobile phones: ALL speedway clubs should remember this.

Mr Cook's article could well have gone in the programme last night but there seems no reason whatsoever that in 2015 it was not published online first.

  4. Buster on the other hand is promoting the sport itself. Creating a venue for fans such as you and me to go and enjoy. Without the Busters of this world, we would have no sport to promote.... I probably stand corrected, but at this point in time I believe the AFA is equal or better than any other in putting on this sport....

No argument with the stadium itself. Buster has transformed what was a run-down dump into an excellent venue.

I haven't been to every track in the country so cannot say whether it is the best - but I would say it is one of the best.

The track also used to provide incredible racing.

It is not so good and this year has been dire.

I was told by another fan that the material used for the track surface is good for cars and that's why it has gone down. I can understand that because stocks/bangers seem to draw bigger crowds than speedway anywhere.

Maybe we will have to live with it.

  5. Personally, I never worry about the weather until the actual day.

Forecasts are just that - a prediction of what the "experts" think will happen.

Timings change a lot over any period of time.

I think the first meeting at Arlington this season put down a marker for the fans.

It wasn't the best of days weatherwise but we raced and it was exciting.

I will leave it to Martin, Connor and the experienced track staff at Arlington - with Bob - to get the track ready. I trust them to do it if at all possible.

And if you are on Twitter, follow @Martindugard23 He is a regular and I am sure he will let you know if it is off.

  6. You've obviously had some kind of run in with Buster as all of your posts on Lynn threads are negative, critical and very rarely balanced.

No run in at all with Buster. Can't say we have ever spoken, as is the case with most fans with most promoter.s

I visit when I am working in East Anglia and try and come to KL but sadly the racing is not what it was.

You cannot run away from the facts. I just hope the Flux Arena becomes what the Norfolk Arena was - a damn good race track with thrill a minute stuff.

Admittedly, I missed this week - thought the meeting was Wednesday and failed to double check. Luckily I didn't arrive at Saddlebow Road on the wrong date.

I wish KL all the best this season and would love to see them win the league in their anniversary year BUT all is not well at the moment.

I will be happily join with you in pointing out when things get better. TBF, the prog is a little bit better than last year but in truth that is not saying much.

As per usual you haven't got a clue. Buster Chapman, as a promoter, does more to promote the sport than most. His continuous improvements to the Stadium puts everyone to shame, and you come out with comments like that.

Its unfortunate that surrounding areas have changed and building and trees have been demolished. The Sun, at this time of year is relatively low and causes an issue. To put up a huge hoarding as you suggest would be ridiculous, in both cost and height. To erect something in the Pit area to cut out the offending sun glare, the hoarding would need to be 200 ft tall. Imagine going to the planner with that......... To me it's not that big a problem and come July and August the Sun will be higher and shouldn't be a issue..... Also come the play-offs in Autumn, the Sun will have gone and we will start on time... :t:

Buster Chapman does more to promote the sport than most,. Cloud cuckoo land. When Jonathan was there, King's Lynn could claim that accolade. No longer.

"Sun at this time of the year is relatively low" - you say that when it is 3 weeks from when sun is at its height. Get a grip and stop defending the indefensible.

Looks like a pretty massive building has been built to the rear of bends 1/2 in the last ten years., Wasn't there in 1965.

  8. Jon Cook claiming in Speedway Star that promoters need to talk and listen to fans views.

Then in 2015 with the digital age welland truly dawned, websites, social media in the ascendacy, Mr Cook decides to communicate with fans via the programme.

    You couldn't make it up.

No wonder EL speedway s so out of touch with its supporters.

He'll be stuffed by a rain off or will people have to waitfor a restaging in August when he will reissue thr peogramme.

  9. certainly gating more often would make life easier for all concerned but if they can then pass so many riders around Arlington as has happened, it should be much easier around other tracks (in theory). Arlington a passing track , who'd have believed it.

    And Cradley boys passed Eagles.

Yes, Arlington a track where there is loads of passing. Happy days.
