  1. What clanger? Where did I say it was in the last two season???? Answer??? I DIDN'T!!! Clanger dropped by yourself by assuming something I, in fact, never said!!! Just like the matches I saw at Hyde Road were not in the last two season either!!! Obviously this aint getting through..... I was talking only about matches I've enjoyed - nowt else. That's just plain 100% false. Again you're assuming something I, in fact, never said - at all. I merely said that "I too" call it as it is - nowt else. I also did NOT accuse as you have - wrongly - stated. I merely have relayed my personal experience of the EWR - nowt else. There is a world of difference between mentioning that how its been when I've visited (fair enough) and conversely being told that I don't know a good track from a bad one and told to go to specasavers which is a different thing entirely and there is no place for that kind of abusiveness. To clarify about the 'over-rated comments' wording that you picked up on, that was just typing a bit too quick and it wasn't a particular choice of words I was looking for, I was just a bit quick that was all, I really only meant that whereas on the one hand some of the comments were raving about the track itself (that from my perspective is over-rated, i.e. not the comments themselves) and all I meant was that if you mix the different views up you would end up with a cross-section of views, just as you would have with anything, that was all. I thought it was obvious I meant was over-rated (from my perspective) not that the comments themselves were, but then seemingly not from your reaction. Total red herring. Where did I say it was in the last two years that I visited Owlerton??? Answer?? I didn't!!!
  2. Well sharpasabluntobject you've failed to take the context, I was in fact answering allthegear and his (genuine) question I (genuinely) answered as to the tracks I've enjoyed when I've attended them and matches that I enjoyed watching - nothing else. If you have a problem then that's nothing to do with the matches I've attended and enjoyed watching. It so happens that the matches I've attended at Owlerton were very enjoyable and also on video. That's all. Jesus jumpin. At least not as bad as New Area Panties or 'nappies' for short. As Gordon Bennett says, I'm not saying what's wrongly been assumed. On the one hand I've only said it isn't my experience of EWR when I've attended or how I've found it, whereas on the other hand I've been told "you can't tell a good track when you see one" (well that I liked Hyde Road - seems I'm now told that I shouldn't have) and to "go to specsavers", all that stuff is a different thing entirely. Preference and subjectivity and what a person has found or enjoyed has nothing to do with that kind of abusiveness which I find childish and just plain stoopid.
  3. At last sanity!! Thank you. You are 150% correct. Indeed it is. Your "cheek/toungue/in/firmly" (rearrange these words into a common saying or phrase) radar detector wasn't plugged in there. You see my "crime" was to (genuinely) answer your question!! All purely subjective of course as to my preferences or the ones I've enjoyed matches at when I've been to them. But here's a tip for future reference allthegear, best not to (genuinely) answer that kind of (genuine) question as New Area Panties will tell you what you should like, what toothpaste you should prefer, and personal recommendations on frocks and Morris dancing. Every day's a schoolday. Incidentally, the tracks I listed, I forgot it was actually horse racing tracks I was trying to remember and any resemblance to names of speedway tracks and stadia is purely coincidental, the eyesight's going these days so horses legs and wheels they all look the same to me these days.
  4. 1. If you post on a Forum, you should accept that others will reply to your comments. 2. None of us can dictate who can or cannot reply to our comments - if you don't like it, then you can either stop posting or become less sensitive to feedback you take exception too. 3. P.S. your response to a post by me earlier on this thread could also be described as "smartass" & "dumb", but I didn't respond with blubbering indignation. From the not so sublime to completely ridiculous.... Ah Cyclops how are you. Your points 1. Not really, no point in being confrontational because somebody likes something 2. Ah "feedback", the dictionary definition doesn't include harassment or confrontation 3. You mean post #30 on this thread? Worth checking if the humour bypass is reversible.
  5. New area Panties We are all indebted to your wisdom. Maybe you could tell us all what toothpaste we should all prefer, what frocks you prefer wearing and a few tips on your best Morris Dancing moves.
  6. Tracks that I "rate"? That's not where I'm coming, I don't believe in "rating" as such, more that I've enjoyed the matches (or haven't enjoyed them), so really its all subjective - there's no hard and fast (no pun intended) rule or anything, more just personal preference and its all subjective. Too many good tracks lost, Hyde Road - now that was a speedway track. Didn't like Kirky Lane so much, well I guess nothing compares to Hyde Road. Also liked Cleveland Park, and Stoke. I've never liked the shape of EOES although great viewing and great fans. I also liked The Shay, it had banking on the bends.
  7. A lot of folk love marzipan, but those that do don't ram it down the throat of those who haven't enjoyed it. I've never liked Peterborough as a race track, although great viewing and great fans.
  8. Hello Rob. You're a sensible guy on here. I can tell you (in best possible taste) that no I am not winding anybody up. But seems others are flamin well tryin to wind me up - if I haven't enjoyed the racing at the EWR then I haven't and no-one can tell me that somehow I have when I know I haven't. Simple as that. And no I wasn't particularly referring to Scunthorpe v Glasgow either.
  9. Fer cryin out loud, Jesus jumpin on a Suzuki.... if I haven't enjoyed it at the EWR then I bloody well haven't. It isn't up for debate.
  10. What on earth are you talking about. Ok, tracks I've been to.... Hyde Road, Kirkmanshulme Lane, The Shay, Brandon Stadium, Dudley Wood, Lakeside/Arena Essex Raceway, Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Owlerton, Cleveland Park, STMP, Hull, East of England Showground, Eddie Wright Raceway, Derwent Park, Loomer Road, Berrington Lough, Shielfield, Powderhall, Armadale. If I've felt disappointed in the racing at the EWR then I have been - you can't tell me that somehow I haven't been disappointed when I know that I have.
  11. You say one visit. Over several visits I've been repeatedly disappointed. Others on this forum have also commented that the Ben Fund meeting held at the EWR produced very poor racing. As for "just look on you tube", you can say the same of every track. As far as I'm concerned its over-rated. You say "its a good racing track" - not when I've been. And no I am not the only person saying - others on this forum have also slated the EWR Ben Fund meeting saying that the racing was very poor. Look. If I say I've been disappointed in the racing at the EWR then I have been - you can't tell me that somehow I wasn't disappointed in it when I was.
  12. Full of self praise. Self praise and continually patting yourself on the back is no praise at all. Don't have such an over-inflated vision of yourselves and folk like me that have seen far too many oh so boring follow-my-leader meetings that are a total yawn-fest won't be so brassed off with your continual over-inflated vision of your track. Well listen here - I also call it how it is. I've always found the EWR to be very very ordinary, follow my leader non-racing, and the viewing is terrible. That's how it is for me - I call it how it is too.
  13. Fair comment Unfortunately I've never found that, always seems to be on its not so good days that I've visited so I can only go by how its been when I've visited, and why its not a track I've enjoyed speedway at so much as other tracks. Balance that with comments raving about it and you maybe have a more realistic overall picture, a mixture of views. I've never been to the Bahamas but knowing my luck I'd probably catch it during a hurricane or monsoon.
  14. Totally uncalled for and unnecessary Halifaxtiger, no need for personal attack I hope not!! PM: it was just out of courtesy (er.... surely not)
  15. Better still, Edinburgh should start each home match on minus 60 - seeing as that's the extent of their home track advantage on their trick track with ten thousand percent home advantage
  16. Not so much "folk don't want a lad to ride" but rather "that's what the rules say that everybody else has had to follow and do follow"
  17. As mac101 explained, Tom Perry snapped the sprocket bolts clean off the rear hub in one of his races and had ignition problems in another, changed the complete ignition system and then waited till the NJL match finished to check everything was ok for the next match 'tomorrow' so all sorted now. I take the positive side of that (the cup is half full rather than half empty) and very professional going forward to the next match and I agree with mac101 that he could be a key rider for Glasgow today at reserve.
