  1. Could be 'Haggis Supper' - once they're in batter they look pretty similar out of the chippie.
  2. Just generally. Have heard that mentioned a number of times over the years in match reports etc, and also on a televised match (BT Sport or Eurosport) where they mentioned parts of the track to avoid and/or couldn't be raced full throttle on. All/any of it secondhand info hence "reportedly" and "allegedly". All tracks have imperfections, 3rd bend Ashfield was sorted out during the covid shutdown and break last year.
  3. Reportedly, Ashfield also doesn't have horrendous bumps in it as per the one you're comparing with allegedly or so they say.
  4. some folk are just annoying sorry just enthusiastic
  5. ....though the seats will probably be sold out in advance, so probably only standing tickets only available on gate.
  6. Good on you both, hope you have a safe journey.
  7. One practical problem with that might be if there are re-runs, crashes, delays, Heat 15 might not be until say 9:30 or later. Maybe not leaving much time to do a lot else. Whatever happens, have a safe trip.
  8. Pity it isn't by car, if it was you could do worse than make your way up earlier in the day and stop at such as Biggar. Edinburgh? No.
  9. Some would say, myself included, that there's no need for a playoff and the league positions already state the winners and runners-up. Is there there much to see in Glasgow. I guess if you go by the respective tourist boards and websites etc, surrounding areas etc, there would be an endless list of things. Whatever floats your boat. Could maybe kill two birds with one stone there, hire a canoe, use it at Strathclyde Park for an afternoon, then in the current climate travel to the stadium in it.
  10. I get your point about not changing play off rules during season and why that should be. My point is that it's maybe different if it's in the interest of all concerned due to such as a worldwide pandemic and a change accordingly is required to properly manage things in the interest of the sport and all concerned, and which is then agreed at such as an EGM to clarify or tweak that e.g. its now been agreed that it will be top four only. Might have been possible, maybe not, but that scenario would have been better you would think than ending up a shambles that some would say they should have seen coming.

....that many would like to be a long term signing
  12. All the more reason why a decision could have been taken, and some would say should have been taken, to amend the play-offs to 4 teams. IMO

Any truth in the rumours that Glasgow may go Premier for 2022?

Yeah I do understand your point Jaizer, you're saying loan him out next year, and yeah you could be right about stabilising next year, etc, its one of those personal judgement things, who do you bet on improving in the coming season, I just reckon his biggest improvement will be in 2022 season, and that's why I reckon better not to loan him out. As you will know, Bowes was loaned out in 1994 season, but that was for a different reason as he was already on a 9 point ave and couldn't be fitted in and returned to Glasgow in 1995 season. On this one I just reckon Jensen will improve a fair bit on his current average and that's why I reckon he should be first on the teamsheet. On top of that he's an out and out racer, can overtake almost anybody, he's more like a heat leader at times, so first on the teamsheet and maybe written in bold as well then.

Sam Jensen - why would you drop a rider on a rising average? Ok so later this season his form dipped, but his overall trajectory from last season is definitely on the way up, he's shown he's an out and out racer, can overtake good riders with ease, and even when he went into the main body of the team performed more like a heat leader and very reliable, he was even gating better, it was later in the season when it became wetter and track prepared slicker and needed a different bike set up and riding to suit that his overtaking heroics subsided and his form seemed to dip, therefore lowering his average which in team building terms for next season aint such a bad thing as it turns out. All he needs is better consistency which he will gain as he becomes more experienced. Definitely an out and out racer that can overtake even good riders with ease with his overtaking heroics, performing more like a heat leader at times, on the way up on a rising average. It would be complete madness to let another club snap him up. First on the teamsheet for 2022 as far as I'm concerned.

A couple on here saying to either drop Sam Jensen or loan him out to another track next year. I say a definite no to that as I reckon he will become more consistent next year and will be on a rising average - the very type of rider any team needs to be successful. He's already shown that he is an out and out racer and can overtake almost anybody. Seems to me that his form dipped later in the season when, due to wetter weather, tracks were prepared that bit slicker and overtaking at a premium, needed a different set up for the bike and riding to suit. He's shown he definitely has the talent, can often overtake good riders easily, and he was even gating well before all the wet weather, all he needs is a bit more consistency, especially when it gets really slick and of course some will point out that he's Danish so should suit him but he was definitely was on form before it got all wet and slick, and even going into the main body of the team he performed more like a heat leader and very reliable. I reckon it would be madness to let him go to another club next year who would benefit from his rising average.
  17. Congratulations to Poole. PS: apologies for my earlier comment.
  18. Don't know why but sometimes the words "show-offy", "techno-snob" and "pain in the..." spring to mind
