  1. Very good point. It could be go either way, either not enough low average riders riders and then potentially also forcing some riders out of the sport if there is no room to accommodate them in any team due to having too low a points limit. It would then force the premature retirement of riders when they still have good racing ability. Its happened before when the points limit has been drastically reduced. They need to get the balance right.
  2. That's funny but also false.... roads across the central belt of Scotland flooded.
  3. 45 mins from Greenock to Falkirk is some going! Possible to do in 45 mins when its quiet and no traffic but never at peak time when it would be more like double that - M8 across Kingston Bridge could take an hour on its own at peak time, the same for the M80 which is a car park at rush hour peak time, or a car park at anytime when there's an accident or a breakdown and tailbacks for miles, been there done that.
  4. Yep coming down on tarmac is never good.
  5. Correct. 1991 finished second in the league. Lyons was sold/transferred to Belle Vue soon after that for the 1992 season. But still had Bowes and Mick Powell who were also on the way up, it would be Super Steve's last season in 1992, but then had Nagy who would be 1992 divisional rider's champion, as well as Neil Collins, 1992 finished 3rd in the league. And then of course Tigers were league champions and ko cup winners in both 1993 and 1994 seasons when the league was decided as it should be - by finishing top of the league.
  6. Did seem that way for the second leg of the 1991 KO Cup Final down at Arena Essex complete with Bo Petersen, Brian Karger, etc, when Tigers drew overall on aggregate and forced a replay and restaging of both legs again. And of course wouldn't be a replay now, it would be a deciding superheat.
  7. Not sure what that was in reply to, but in reply to your post, as far as I'm concerned whoever is top of the league table are the league winners anyway. I personally don't believe in the playoffs, never have, think its a farce. If they want to have an end of season mini-cup tournament then fine but it shouldn't decide the league title imho.
  8. Going by what others have said about the rule then no, the minimum 3 rides becomes 4 if eligible to take one of the R/R rides - its one R/R ride per each of the 4 eligible riders, don't think one rider can take 2 R/R rides, has to be one each so that would include another ride for Ace as part of his minimum set of rides - unless withdrawn from the meeting.
  9. But these days a quid is only worth 20p or maybe 30p so on that score 20 quid is only about a fiver in auld money.
  10. Yes minimum 3 rides, but it becomes 4 when also eligible for an R/R ride for the absent Vissing.
  11. Nothing to do with Tatum. Dave Rowe is just a nightmare - can't listen to him - as if he's on acid, always frenetic, not a pleasure to listen to at all.
  12. I never mentioned Kelvin Tatum. Dave Rowe is just a nightmare, so you love being motormouthed at a million miles an hour on steroids and your ears frazzled by a guy that has only one gear - going at a frenetic pace and never comes up for air. The guy needs to calm himself down to a frenzy. He's a nightmare.
  13. Please god no! Dave Rowe is too hyper-frenetic, motormouth at a million miles per hour on steroids, never comes up for air. My ears are frazzled within seconds of his commentary starting. I'm exhausted just listening to him. He needs to calm himself to a frenzy.

    Glasgow training track

The football pitch is already half the size of other football pitches so can't see it happening and when you look at it as a spectator on the third bend it is well wide enough and wider than many speedway tracks. Seems to be those that want to treat the whole track a circle flatout the whole time and usually not a problem, its more whether there is a bump at that bend and usually fine when it is smooth and no bump or dip, that's the only thing really. Worth mentioning as well that the overhead google image is out of date as the whole track has been widened since that image was taken, and the track all round is now wider than most tracks with the football pitch now absolutely tiny.

    Cut off date

Would be as well just having a straight league title instead of the playoff nonsense, the whole thing is a farce imho.

    Edinburgh Vs Poole 4th August

Still an awful injury and 12 week recuperation but great news that it looks as though it will be a full recovery.

    Edinburgh Vs Poole 4th August

I see it from a couple of angles, Steve is just genuinely enthusiastic and supporting his team etc. I guess none of us are perfect, I certainly aint, and our enthusiasm can take over sometimes. His team are also doin alright so I guess he's entitled to be a bit enthusiastic. Anyways, above all else, best wishes to the cameraman.

    Edinburgh Vs Poole 4th August

Well, I came on here for one reason only and that was to see if there was good news about the cameraman. Seems to be no news which hopefully is a case of "no news is good news". Anyways on the Roynon/Wood incident, I thought exactly as yourself Steve and it seems a few others, definitely... until I saw the replay and Jacob Hook pointed out that in fact that as Roynon completed (or not quite completed) his pass of Wood his deflector caught Wood's front wheel and which caused Wood's bike to behave differently and pick up drive and then catch Roynon's bike. I didn't believe Hook was right until I saw the replay. But yeah without the replay it looked a million percent Wood's fault. Seems it was just a racing accident and can only hope Adam Roynon's injury is nothing serious and he will recover quickly. He's had more than his fair share of injuries over his career so hope he's alright.
  19. More about having a team that is competitive instead of being near the bottom of the league with Steve Lawson on his own and virtually nobody else. A decent stadium, decent track, runners-up the last couple of seasons (not counting 2020), they're certainly competing and that's all you can ask for. Fine margins after that. I guess you reckon 3rd placed Leicester and 4th placed Redcar are abysmal then.
  20. Hopefully you'll have binned your mr angry hat by then. Take it easy.
  21. Nobody is being rude - where???? Here's my post: "You've got to be kidding. It's imho not so much a case of IF he will increase his average next season, more about by how much. By waiting all you'd be doing is handing that increase to another team and then be saddled with a high average on his return. Crazy." What "attitude" - where???? Have you been on the beer. Its just discussion. Just opinions as you've said. That's also why I said "imho". Lighten up.
