  1. Well it does but not relevant to my point about the riders I listed and that they were on the cusp of sizeable increases in their averages. I also reckoned that a certain Edinburgh rider was far better than his average at the time before his rise to heat leader, that rider being a certain C Cook about 10 years ago, many including the Monarchs faithful reckoned he was rubbish and should be dropped, I reckoned he had it and would vastly improve his average and the very next season it jumped. Jensen's average might only increase by half a point, it might be a point or more, but I reckon it will increase. And that's why it would be crazy to give that to another team.
  2. You've got to be kidding. It's imho not so much a case of IF he will increase his average next season, more about by how much. By waiting all you'd be doing is handing that increase to another team and then be saddled with a high average on his return. Crazy.
  3. Far more to it than that. Way more to it than that. The boy has shown he's got it. Very very very few riders can overtake good riders with ease like he does. He will become more consistent and improve and that's where the increase in his average will come from. I told the same to those that thought Bowes was a liability on his 6 point average and you're saying the same things as folk did then of Bowes and they all ate their words.
  4. Having watched speedway for over 40 years this is the stage at which he will make the biggest improvement. Time and time an time again I've spotted them.... Bowes (went from 6 to 8.5), Lyons (went from 5.80 to nearly 8), Mick Powell (went from 5.7 to 7.4).
  5. Why let another team benefit from the 2 point increase Jensen is gonna make next season? Should be first on the team sheet as far as I'm concerned. And an out and out racer to boot. In the mould of Bowes.
  6. Hope not. Why let another team cash in on the 2 point increase he's gonna make next season?
  7. Hope so. He would be first on my team sheet. An out and out racer.
  8. You say that but its been shown to backfire as well when the better gate(s) early on hasn't produced the expected heat advantage or early edge, and then its backfired at Heat 15 squeaky bum time when the other team has had the gates advantage. I lost count of the number of times that happened in the televised matches this season. A case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't". If you ask me it wouldn't have mattered tonight either way.
  9. You say he struggled when he stepped up from reserve - no he didn't!! In fact he rode like a heat leader. When he stepped up to the main body of the team I expected a dip - it didn't happen. He was overtaking decent riders like a man possessed and was even gating well. It was later on that his form suddenly slumped and it coincided with the wetter colder weather when the track was prepared slick and he was finding it difficult to pass and his form went on the slide. I expect him to become more consistent next season and improve his average and edge it to be a heat leader. An out and out racer that can overtake anybody with ease when he's on it.
  10. And yet he rode like a heat leader first half of the season, an out and out racer that could often overtake anybody with ease, he was even gating well, but later on this season his form dipped as soon as the wetter colder weather came in and tracks became slicker and he couldn't pass. Still reckon he'll improve again next season, be more consistent, and edge it to be a heat leader.
  11. Appreciated that the Poole management have let us all know what's going on and their plans for next season. I'm certainly up for their 2022 in house stream. Jobs a good un as they say.
  12. You're welcome. Hope you have a good time, a good night's kip and a safe journey home.
  13. Golden Heats is probably the way of it as has been suggested, unlike full 2-leg Replay 30 years ago when that year's KO Cup Final ended in an aggregate draw down there after Arena Essex had kept it to only 2 points from the first leg at Shawfield and everybody thought the second leg was a formality.
  14. Shades of Steve Lawson/Jim McMillan in the Pairs which they would have won but for practically the same thing, last bend chain break while leading, so handed the title on a plate to Martin Yeates and I think Simon Cross(?)
  15. Well done to both teams on last night's performance. The thought also occurs that despite a degree of negativity as regards Poole supporters from some quarters along the lines of such as the Championship doesn't need Poole or their supporters, etc, it seems to me to be almost the opposite, i.e. good team, good supporters that know their speedway, just enthusiastic, maybe a fraction over enthusiastic sometimes and why not. Not a so called 'love in' (defo not!), just a bit of credit where credit's due. It will be tough down there, 10 points isn't much, Tigers have it all to do.
  16. All those deep breaths. Good for the soul.
  17. So why does the photo look like you (were) in Buchanan St - not that far from St Enoch shopping centre where Steve and Shaleshifter were at the the time.
  18. I take my hat off to you sir. If I had one anyway.
  19. Brilliant. But as a paraglider, couldn't you just....
  20. Wow. All that way for a "home" match. I admire your dedication.
