They don't but if Robbo is missing against Poole then he will be needed more so and can't afford injury.

Poole V Swindon Ela 1/5/17 6pm
GWC replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
KK seems a loner and not a team player and consistency eludes him in the UK, Middleditch needs to massage his ego. Championships are won with team spirit not chopping and changing riders to fit the numbers! -

You did ask the question !!

Somerset V Wolves Friday 5th May 19;30
GWC replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Best get used to it as the system isn't working so UK Speedway will go it alone. -
Poland and the demise of Grasstrack - Poland have taken the best riders and fed them really well so other leagues (with exception of Sweden have become partly insignificant. The take up of talent hasn't been replaced as our UK training has been largely poor or non existent when in the past we had young grass trackers queuing up for team places. The seeds of change have been seen this season and looking at the performances of some 'better riders' would say that there are a few who wouldn't really be missed - it's just their name and reputation that they bring to the teams.

Rye House V Leicester... Premiership... 1st May, 2pm
GWC replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not one heat winner from gate 4 says something about the track alterations and additional shale. The heavy shower mid meeting made it difficult for the riders who copped pretty well. Danny Ayres is a real crowd pleaser and is what is missing in the rather sterile world of Speedway these days. -
You can partly blame the system of building teams to the last decimal point for riders not getting team places. In 'rider control' days you had 3 heat leaders 2 second stings and 2 reserves but now we have teams constructed to gain advantage with a strong reserve or weakened to permit very strong top rider.

Team And Riders, Points Changeover ?
GWC replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm sure that is what they are planning for - can see some other teams changing where certain riders are strangely not performing as expected......... -
No there are not enough riders of the quality required to have a competitive Premier league as even afterlosing Coventry the doubling up hasn't reduced, goodness knows what we would be seeing if they hadn't closed. A lot must come down to finances as I'm sure a lot of supporters cannot fathom the likes of Cook King and Masters making hay in the Championship. A squad system allowing teams to sign up to 10 riders shared between the Premier and Championship would possibly stop the 'guest' syndrome and allow teams to plan their season better.

Assets need to be done away with no reason now that UK are using far less overseas riders.

Ed has a full time job and rides in one league so it's likely he will struggle at times. -

Wolves V Rye House - 24th April 17

Dads Army might be good around their own patch but they don't travel very well. Kennett absolutely shocking. Thing is Rye are relying on Nicholls and Harris to score well and both are a few years past their best. With Kennett having a mare this was always the likely outcome. Someone said on the Rye v Poole thread that there are no t/rs in the playoffs and Rye would fairly easily be able to defend an 8 point lead at Poole. No chance. What happened to them tonight will be repeated on more than one occasion in 2017. Rye the leagues new Lakeside. Do Rye supporters really care what you say or think Steve ? I doubt it as we have been watching lower league racing for ever and this is a new beginning so worrying about the playoffs at this time of year is laughable! -

I don't think Jason Doyle is trying to get his average down as badly as KK or Holder,as you say. Replacing riders should be for out of form - as in Davey Watt or injury and watching Ellis Perks put it over respected seasoned riders is what makes Speedway fun. -

No doubt the rule about having 2 GB qualified riders in your team doesn't apply to guests! -

Didn't think you had an option when rider missing through double up/down r/r as a rule? -

He's tweeted he wants to double up but I'm not sure he would be the answer. Davey is way off the pace from what we have seen at Rye so far, is it mechanical if he scores in Poland? -
Does it matter? 10 years ago Rye won the old Premier with the youngest team essembled!
-
Wenger has made Stan Kroenke a very rich man
-
Neither Davey or Robbo look on the pace for this league so far so I'm not sure what the promotion were expecting. I think after this weeks round of matches we should get a better idea of their likely form.
-
If it's Leicester you are referring to then their plight might have been helped by keeping Wolbert and not having a double upper in Riss. The reserves should be riding in lower leagues but maybe sorting fixture clashes better might help.
-
I was hoping for Thomas Jurgensen and Richard Lawson when team announced but they are now at Saturday tracks.

Time For Brits First. No More Aussies To Uk Speedway.
GWC replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Reading this weeks speedway star regarding the European leagues I would say Sweden are tottering on the brink. Yet they still sign expensive riders - bonkers. Some Polish clubs are in a similar plight but they have a huge supply of riders and pay crazy money but it cannot last. -
I think the Rye House team pic are wearing their BMR jackets as their kevlars are still at the manufacturers. Team colours of Black Chrome and Fire - watch out!!
