Is a fully fit Eddie Kennett such a bad option in a watered down league?

Any other PL riders that could double down? As you say they do have 2 strong reserves and could swap one for a 2 pointer. Would be harsh but can’t run without a number 1.
Have no idea on averages, availability or affordability but maybe one of the following?
Holder
Tungate
Becker
Basso
Tarasenko
Wojdylo
Ellis
Rew
Lidsey
Blodorn

I emailed them and asked about tickets 7-8 weeks ago but they never replied.

Even if he was 8.21 then he still fits?
Covatti was on 7.82 and Plymouth were 0.42 under the limit so can replace up to 8.24? -
5 hours ago, Wee Eck said:Horrible looking accident. I had thought that Covatti would have given Plymouth the rider they needed to help them move far away from the bottom. Without him, what can they do? As it appears Workington aren’t willing to pay for Vissing maybe Plymouth will?
Signing Claus would leave Plymouth about 2 points under the limit, they need an 8 point rider to replace Nico but nobody obvious without a team already springs to mind.
Gutted for them really as they don’t seem to get any luck, here’s hoping they can find a hidden gem

And maybe the TV deal covers a lot of this?

He would be prepared to join Birmingham for 30% of that. How much lower can he go?
As it’s a slow work day, I decided to sit and do the maths on this.
So a third of that is about £650 a point, let’s just say Artem scores 10 points then £6500 plus extras (flights, mechanics etc) comes to £7500 a meeting
£7500 divided by £25 entry fee = 300 people through the gate just to pay for Artem and that’s before all other costs, the other 6 riders plus stadium hire etc.
But that then got me thinking there is no entry fees when riding away so that’s another £7500 on the above assumptions so you’d need 600 people per home meeting to cover home and away costs for a number 1.
Now I have no idea how accurate the above figure is, nor am I saying anything against the riders as they have big expenses but it just made me realise how difficult it really is for these promoters.

I also really miss the Brighton Bonanza that ran indoors every December, would love to see that make a comeback. One year they also did an indoor event in Bournemouth too

Does anyone know when tickets go on sale please?

Personally I think Brennan will flourish but the tail looks a bit dodgy, time will tell.
It was Newman and Rowe wasn’t it? Anders was 99.9 percent in the team until Tom became available
So effectively it’s Brennan and new rider instead of those two

Didn’t see that coming, good signing that
So if the rumours are correct that Newman is in the team then what does that leave for the number 1?

2 minutes ago, Marksman said:One name who I haven't seen mentioned on any of the Championship threads is Bradley Wilson-Dean, his average would be 8.21.
He mentioned on Facebook that he has recieved 2 team offers for 2024. Not an ideal average with him not properly riding over here since 2019 (rode 1 match for Newcastle in 2022)
Still only just turned 29, someone will have take a gamble on him sometime you'd think if he wants to get back into British Speedway.
Also won the US Open championship recently in October.
Would fit into these comments, I did see them somewhere, perhaps in the Speedway Star?
Didn’t he struggle massively on his average at Newcastle? Would be a huge gamble

Riss is 7.35, Batch is 7.16
Must be Sedgman on 7.69 then?

Where have you seen this please? The only article I’ve seen quotes Garry referring to Barker as ‘one of his heat leaders’ which still applies if it’s Barker, Rowe and Newman.
There was a further newspaper article with Garry stating the team will be an all round strength team as there are no heat leaders left available
-
Lots of previous posts suggest the team will be just over a point under the limit. Add Newman, Rowe and Gilkes to the above brings it to that?

Don’t think he’s riding UK this year

Any chance of Vaculik as number 1?

1 minute ago, Gazc said:He has stated he will not be riding championship in the UK on the Glasgow website.
He said that it was too much with all his other commitments.
Ok thanks for correcting me if that’s the case.
Any other ideas on heat leaders available for the gladiators?
Could they convince someone like Adam Ellis or Keynan Rew to double down?
-
1 minute ago, Skidder1 said:What? That he's not doing Championship or that he's not still at Glasgow?
No he’s obviously not at Glasgow as they’ve opted for Harris at number 1 and already stated they won’t be having Brennan or Basso.
But I think Glasgow may have jumped the gun by stating that both riders won’t be riding championship as the reason for not having them in their team this season.

Just now, Skidder1 said:Basso isn't doing Championship otherwise he'd still be at Glasgow!!
Not quite true from what I’ve heard.

I hear what people are saying that we should just be grateful that speedway is still going ahead but desperately hoping that Plymouth have a winning team at home to bring the crowds back in.
Not too many heat leaders left that haven’t been signed or linked with other teams, Ben Basso maybe?
